Enne Enhancement (2)
For now, Enne and I decided to put aside her second form and came up with a few new techniques after much discussion.
First, the [Magic Blade – Revised].
Our vision for this technique was for it to be able to fly and chase after a target as a ranged attack based on the [Magic Blade] skill.
Since magic could be manipulated to some extent even after it was released, we tried to see if we could manipulate the magic blade in the same way, and as expected, we were able to change its trajectory successfully.Currently, we could barely bend magic and our accuracy was also as bad as ever, but it served as good training. Enne was burning with enthusiasm, saying, “This is Enne’s challenge. I’ll do my best.”
The ideal slash would be one that kept on chasing the target until it hit.
The next thing that came to my mind was the [Red Flame].
Enne obtained the [Red Flame] from the magic circuit, and it was used by the [Jet Enne Transportation] which only served as a booster when flying in the sky.
After some discussion, we had managed to improve that and incorporate it into a technique that was easier to use and Enne could always stay in that state even when on the ground.
However, it was so hot that I almost got burnt when we used it, but it could cut rocks like butter without putting any effort into it, and it could also easily cut through a thick concrete wall that we bought with DP to be used for testing.
It consumed a fair amount of magic power, but since both Enne and I were stronger than before and our magic power levels had increased considerably, we could continue to use it for an hour or so even if the battle was prolonged. If we used advanced magic potions, we would be able to fight using that technique for even longer.
And – the third one was the real deal this time.
“Let’s go, Enne!” (Yuki)
[Hmm, I’m ready anytime!] (Enne)
I was currently on the deck of the ghost ship dungeon, one of the dungeons I owned.
Enne’s blade, which answered my words, glowed with an even darker crimson color than usual, radiating an extremely heavy pressure that made even I, her master, break out in a cold sweat.
“Hmph–!” (Yuki)
With my beloved sword ready, I swept her forward with all of my strength.
What was released was a magic blade or rather, a magic beam…
It made the space tremble, gouged the ocean, and pierced through the distance.
*Splash.
The air was heated, and a powerful explosion rumbled through the air.
Waves were generated, shaking the deck of the huge ghost ship dungeon… Eventually, the gouged out surface of the sea returned to normal.
Enne’s sword blade also returned to its usual red color.
“Oh, oh…we, we did it.” (Yuki)
[Hmm, but I lost control of my magic a bit… if Enne works hard, I should still be able to go further…] (Enne)
Enne’s face twitched involuntarily as she was still not satisfied.
This little one was pretty strict with herself.
The last one was an attack in which I used [Spirit Magic] to wrap Enne’s blade in Spirit Magic power, and then fired it similarly to a [Magic Blade].
We did the testing with lower magic power, and after we got the shape right, we finally tried the real thing… It was more powerful than I thought it would be.
It was a good decision to try it here instead of using it on the borders of the Demon Forest.
The attack we were aiming for should be at least on the level of [Dragon’s Breath] that Lefi unleashed, but I wondered if we at least managed to reach the baseline.
With the addition of Enne’s slash, I think the power of the attack was higher than my [Leviathan] enhanced with Spirit Magic?
I saw the breath attack of an undead dragon when I was in the elven village before, and it was probably close to that in power.
If I had to name it, I would call it a [Magic Blade Cannon]. It was not a simple slash attack anymore, but more of a blast.
I had a feeling that it would be more effective if I simply gave the same amount of magic power to the spirits than if I used my own magic power to release the magic.
I mean, looking at the results, I think that was a good guess.
I was also a being with a body formed by magic power, but a spirit, which could be called “Pure Magic Power with Will,” had a higher aptitude for it, so there would probably be a difference in the power.
The problem was that it took time to accumulate, and compared to [Leviathan], this one could not be adjusted in power, so once we fired a shot, we would not be able to move for some time.
If we wanted to use it, it would be better to have the pets take care of the front while waiting for it to accumulate, and then unleash it as a finishing blow.
The other thing to consider was that the key to this attack was [Spirit Magic], so there would be environmental issues.
The attribute of magic I was good at was [water], and for that reason, water spirits would listen to me more often than other spirits.
And since this was the ocean, the place where water spirits were at their strongest, it became this powerful, but if I were to release it in a forest or some other place, it would be a bit weaker.
“Well, Enne, even leaving aside the divine spear, this is the most powerful attack we have, right? So, I’m glad that we could unleash such an attack together.” (Yuki)
[…Nn. Indeed. Let’s first rejoice in our success.] (Enne)
“Yeah. It’s good to be ambitious, and I know we could still become stronger, but we don’t have to do it in a hurry. Let’s get stronger at a good pace.” (Yuki)
[…Nn!]. (Enne)
Now we had more cards in our hands. The only thing that was left to do would be to train our abilities steadily.
I felt like the number of one-hit killer attacks we had was increasing, and I had a feeling that it would be very difficult to find a way to utilize them, but it didn’t matter since we did get good results.
The design concept of Enne was based on the importance of one-hit kills anyway.
When I was taught how to use a sword in the village of elves by the butler old man, who was a hero before Nell, he also suggested that I should go in that direction, and above all, it was romance.
Long live the Big Guns Principle!
And as I shared my success with Enne, Layla peeked out from the door connecting to the Demon Forest.
“Yuki-san, Enne-chan, the snacks are ready. If it’s still going to take a while, do you want me to save your share for later?” (Layla)
“…Oh, we have also finished here and about to take a break.” (Yuki)
“…snacks, looking forward to it.” (Enne)
Enne who suddenly humanized had an understandable relaxed expression responded to Layla.
“Alright, since that’s the case, Layla, we’re going to head back with you. –I’ve got something I wanted to discuss. I was wondering if you could tell me about the mythology of your world.” (Yuki)
“Myths?” (Layla)
“Ah, I’ve been thinking about it. I don’t know much about the Goddess of Nell’s church, or any other religions popular among the humanoids, so I was wondering if Layla might know some of the details about it.” (Yuki)
“Sure, I’ve learned a fair amount, but… ah, I see, I don’t mind. I’ll tell you later what I know to the best of my knowledge.” (Layla)
