"Sea Dragon Leviathan... Man, that thing is huge!"

It's a massive body that overwhelms us.

I've fought giant monsters countless times before, but in terms of size alone, this one might be at the top.

"Zenon-sama, could that be... a mythical monster?"

"Well, something like that... I can't believe we're facing this guy of all creatures."

I chuckle at Aeris's trembling voice.

Leviathan is the largest enemy character among the monsters in [DunBrave].

If this were an MMORPG, it would have been designated as a raid boss.

Leviathan appears in two points.

The first is this 'Eternal Library,' where it emerges in the sea created by special magic.

The second is... the real sea. There's a story in a paid additional scenario that takes place at sea, and Leviathan appears as a mid-boss towards the end.

"As a mid-level boss, this guy is even stronger than the final boss... he's practically invincible on the sea."

"Baskerville! How do we defeat this guy!?"

Ciel shouted loudly from the back of the White Dragon.

Even though I wanted to retort, what lay below was a monster that seemed to embody irrationality.

I understand her urge to scream in frustration.

"Well... all I can say is, for now..."

"GRRRRRRRR...!"

"When that guy make that movement, run with all your might! Don't stay in one place!"

The Leviathan opened its large mouth and aimed towards us.

The White Dragon carrying three people, with Miura holding me, immediately moved away from the spot.

"GRRRROOOOOAARRRR!"

And then, in the next moment.

From the Leviathan's mouth, seawater was released like a laser beam.

A torrential water beam that could swallow a large ship just hit the place where we were moments ago, putting us on the brink of being shot down.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"

"HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Screams filled the blue sky.

Following that, seawater shot towards the sky turned into a downpour of rain.

"The 'Sea Dragon's Wrath' of the Leviathan... its power is truly extreme, making me depressed, when witnessed firsthand."

Being held by Miura, I grimaced with a half-hearted expression.

As I can see, the 'Sea Dragon's Wrath' is a technique that shoots out seawater in one go to knock down enemies in the air.

If hit directly by it, even characters in high-level jobs could have a significant portion of their HP depleted.

"Furthermore, whether it's being 'swallowed' by the sea, 'strangled', or receiving a 'tail slap' after falling into the ocean... this guy is seriously out to kill us."

When '2' was released, I couldn't help but wonder, does the development team of this game hold a grudge against the players?

It makes me suspicious that they are trying to retaliate against criticisms made anonymously or receiving one-star ratings.

"Zenon-sama! What should we do next!?"

"First, draw their attention! Attack with magic!"

I shout towards Aeris and the others.

"If we focus only on dodging the seawater cannon from earlier, they won't be killed as long as we keep flying! Fight using long-range attacks without getting close!"

"I wouldn't approach them even if you didn't tell me... but"

"I wonder if our attacks are effective against this huge body?"

Ciel attacks Leviathan with lightning magic, while Electra's White Dragon's breath, summoned by her, also strikes.

Aeris supports the two with auxiliary magic, and to replenish the magic power consumed by summoning, she gives Electra a magic potion to drink.

"ROOOOOOOOOOOOAR!"

Leviathan is not even bothering to hide, taking our attacks head-on.

But... this is what they call 'preying mantis axe.'

Long-range attacks don't seem to be doing much.

"Stop?"

Miura, who seems worried, asks me while holding me close.

She's probably asking if we should stop time... but I shake my head.

Miura, a summoning demon, uses my magic to cast spells.

Stopping time consumes a tremendous amount of magic power.

"If I run out of magic power in this situation, it'll be a disaster... let's avoid that."

"Then... what should we do?"

"What to do? Well, let's just do everything we can to take it down."

Even if we keep poking at it from the sky like this, we won't be able to deal significant damage to Leviathan.

While flying through the sky, there are limited things we can do. Constantly depleting magic power, it's uncertain how long it will last.

"Hey, Miura."

"Hmm?"

"Do you know the phrase 'Ship of Theseus'?"

Asking this question... I reached into my item bag.

The Ship of Theseus, also known as Theseus's Paradox, is a thought experiment and paradox about whether an object is the same object after having had all of its original components replaced over time, typically one after the other.
