Chapter 393: Appreciation From a Influential Figure
Qian Nianchen raised her thumb with a smile. “Yes! This man is the boss of the Vicious Tigers Division. Lucky for you! Meet two leaders in one day!”
“Brother Wudo, We are taking this!” Vicious Tiger stood at the intersection of the corridor and the hall. “A million gold coins! And if we did it, we could expect more cooperation with the Rays, then…”
“Screw you! I owe my life to Qian Jin!” Mad Dragon suddenly stood up and roared against the Tiger. “You want to kill him? Ask me first!”
“Humph, don’t think that I’m afraid of you!” Tiger stared at the raging Dragon. “You are one year older than me but I’m stronger than you!”What a mess! But Qian Jin found that his uncle didn’t prepare to meddle at all. With both arms folded across his chest, Jun Wudo was waiting for the drama to unfold.
Qian Jin could hardly sit still. He would do nothing if he hadn’t seen this or the argument had centered on a completely irrelevant person. Unfortunately, the name Qian Jin was the key point.
“Cough…” A discreet but an abrupt cough had drawn everybody’s attention in the hall.
Even the frenzied debaters stopped their spat. “Uh, sorry. I didn’t mean to interrupt, but…”
Qian Jin shrugged. “Mr. Mad Dragon, since this tiger is so anxious to kill Qian Jin, why make not make ways for him?”
“Who do you think you are?” Mad Dragon squared his shoulders. “I can kill you right now!”
“Oh no… Uncle Dragon.” Cheerfully, Qian Nianchen clapped her hands and gloated. “If you killed my cousin, you’d have killed the person who you want to protect!”“Your cousin?”
The two leaders looked at Qian Jin with great curiosity! Cousin? They had never heard the girl had a cousin!
“Person I want to…?” Mad Dragon felt like his brain wasn’t working. “I have two people who I owe my life to; one is Brother Wudo and the other Qian…”
Mad Dragon suddenly stared at Qian Jin. “You … you are Qian Jin?”
Spreading out his hands, Qian Jin said, “If you’re looking for the Qian Jin that killed Ray Yue, then that should be me.”
“My benefactor!” Mad Dragon strode over. “You are really my benefactor?”
Qian Jin grained in evident embarrassment. “Don’t call me that. I happened to bear some grudges against Rayen and his sister wanted to kill me for God knows what reason. So I killed her for myself, not for you!”
Mad Dragon turned to Jun Wudo. “He is not fake, right? You are not making a fool out of me, right?”
Vicious Tiger looked puzzled as his ink eyebrows tightly twisted together. The cropped hair hanging on his forehead gently swung like tiger stripes. “What the hell? What’s going on Brother Wudo?”
The underworld king shrugged and pointed to Qian Jin. “Come and meet my nephew Qian Jin!”
Vicious Tiger was stunned for a moment. He carefully looked at Qian Jin with hostility and doubt in his eyes. Then he finally sighed. “It seems we have to say goodbye to the gold coins.”
“Who said so?” Jun Wudo got up and paced. “I have already pocketed the money.”
“What?” Tigers doubted what he had heard. Jun Wudo dared to set himself against the Rays? They might just as well not expect any cooperation with that force and they might even become deadly foes.
“Bond if you have time now.” Jun Wudo pointed at the floor. “You may see each other often a lot…”
“Great!” Mad Dragon immediately sat on the ground. “Qian Jin, sit!”
Vicious Tiger hesitated for a moment and gently shook his head. “Brother Wudo, I’d better go now! I called my men up because I thought there was going to be a big contract! Now I have to tell them the plan is canceled.”
After receiving the “Go ahead” signal from Jun Wudo, Vicious Tiger sped out of the room without looking back. All the way he kept thinking of what Jun Wudo had said! What did he mean by “You may see each other often a lot”? Was he going to bring that young man into Wudo Group? Was that young man out from nowhere was a successor candidate?
Okay! Fine! Tigers stepped out of the hall and looked up at the sky with coldness flashing in his eyes. “Brother Wudo, we have put lots of effort into this. Do you want to take him in? That’s alright. But he has to impress me! If he can’t, my fists will have something to say!”
“Tigers, why are you so angry?”
In the moonlight, a man walked down from a carriage in front of the gate. He was in a blue gown and in his hand, there was a folding fan. He had a hawk nose and the slender eyes looked like a slit. It was a frail-looking scholar.
An obvious trace of alert went across Vicious Tiger’s eyes. “Vice President, why are you here?”
“Well, I just finished my chopping work today. I just passed by and I saw you.” The Vice President gently shook his folding fan. “Vicious Tiger Division Leader, you’re here for?”
“Nothing, I’m just looking around.” Vicious Tiger arched his chin a little and mounted his horse. “Gotta go!”
“Bye.” The Vice President sneered as he kept rocking the folding fan. “Do you think I have no idea what you are plotting? The throne belongs to me!”
“Vice President, you can’t go in! The president is having a guest today.”
Kui Richang retracted the foot that had already stepped out and asked the gatekeeper curiously, “Who’s the guest?”
“Sorry, I have no idea!”
“Alright!” Kui Richang answered thoughtfully, turned around and left with his symbolic fan. Before he stepped up to the cab, he once again looked back at the building. “Who is it?
“Who was it? Who did this?”
Seeing his wife lay bed-ridden, York Leigh was almost screaming! His eyes seemed to pop out of his head and the veins stood out in his temples. How dare the criminal beat up his wife in public in his territory! And there were seven broken ribs!
The four warrior retinues were all disabled and the mage was forced into self-mutilation!
If he had not seen this personally, the mayor might just as well think the messenger was out of his mind! The wife of the Mayor of Yulee was almost paralyzed.
“Qian Jin!” Tears coursed down Xitu Yixiao’s face. “It’s Qian Jin… He did this to me!”
Qian Jin? Somehow York Leigh was not that angry now! But Qian Jin? It’s him again! Was he out of his mind? No, that’s not possible… He had always been himself!
“Father!” York Hons paced into the room. The blue veins in the woman’s forehead burst at the sight of him! She shouted, “Don’t you dare speak ill of me!”
The son nodded his eyes narrowing in that infuriating half-grin. “Mother, rest assured. I’ll never lie to Father. I’m telling the truth.”
York Leigh frowned and pointed to York Hons. “What was all this about?”
Catching a glimpse of the bumping blue veins on the arms of his father, York Hons knew his father was already in a towering rage. He was only suppressing the anger because of the Torrent Battle Fort and Fabreidis! Otherwise, Qian Jin’s face might have already been printed on wanted posters!
“Well, in the store…” York Hons repeated the conversation word for word as he secretly observed his father. He was expecting an arresting order.
“Even so…” York Leigh heaved as he breathed deeply at the woman in bed. “Didn’t he care about the identity at all? He really thought with the Torrent Battle Fort and Fabreidis to back him up, I won’t be able to do anything to him?”
York Hons put on a false wry smile. “I am afraid, Father, that was what exactly on his mind!”
“Good… Good!” York Leigh gently tapped on his chair. “He hit my wife and hasn’t shown up to apologize till now! Then don’t blame me for being a Mayor… ”
“Your Highness, I’m back.”
Looking at the coming retinue at the door, York Leigh gently waved. “Wait until I take Qian Jin…”
The retinue who had been ready to left suddenly turned around and knelt down once again. “Hold a second Your Highness! I have some urgent news!”
What the hell? York Leigh turned to the man who had sworn allegiance to him since the Punitive Expedition War Academy. Being the henchman of his henchmen, he knew where to stop. Why did he defy the order today?
“Get up, Dan.” said York Leigh to the man who he had given the name of York Dan due to the tightness of their relationships. “Come with me.”
In the eyes glittered with hate of York Hons, the man named York Dan followed his master into the lobby. Pouring a cup of tea for his boss, he said, “Your Highness, I have come across some news about Qian Jin during my visit to Qian Region this time. I’m sure it is worth you postponing the arresting order.”
York Leigh sipped a little of the slightly burning tea and instructed, “Go ahead.”
“Qian Jin has fought two fights in front of the Qian mansion.” York Dan continued as he sensed that the expression of the Mayor slightly changed. “He defeated several Elf King Bloodline Warriors, including the veteran Qian Chenyu and the genius Qian Wutian.”
What? Out of shock, the Mayor spewed out the tea he had just drunk. He couldn’t believe his ears. How could that young bastard have become so strong? After all, Qian Chenyu was a Level 9 Demon Slayer! How could he lose to Qian Jin! No wonder that young bastard had grown so rampant. He should dare to lay his hand upon the Mayor’s wife!
“Good! Very good!” York Leigh nodded as he sneered. “Alright, now you can…”
“I have not finished yet, Your Highness.” York Dan said before the Mayor. “Qian Jin was invited by the Leader of the Hydra Bloodline to stay at his house. They hung out together and had dinner every day at the same table.”
“What?”
York Leigh almost dropped his cup. To the public, it was just a title or a name. But they knew nothing about the Snake Emperor Pam Honzi!
Snake Emperor Pam Honzi was a man who dared not to pay due respect to Qian Zhanxuan, the boss if the Elf Kings! He was a visionary leader of strategy and stature and it was him who had guided the Hydra to what they were now.
He shouldn’t be willing to hang out with Qian Jin and have dinner together every day at the same table.
Well, it might be a reward if they had dinner once. But every day? It seemed that the big shot liked Qian Jin very much.
