Idiot.
Pei Zhen couldn’t help but roll his eyes. With a wave of his hand, he discharged the manager, indicating that Xiao Nian should scram as far as he could.
“It will be a long night for Chinese Valentine’s Day. Although you’re single and that’s lonesome and tough, don’t worry, Daddy—I’m with you in spirit!”
In the past, every time such torturous festivities came around, Xiao Nian would stick tightly to Pei Zhen and insist that they spent the time together.
That year was an exception. These days, Xiao Nian focused all his attention on his ‘wife’ from the online gaming platform and treated Pei Zhen as a pathetic single man who didn’t even have a fictitious girlfriend.
It was true that Pei Zhen didn’t have a girlfriend, but he had a boyfriend!
His boyfriend had just hurried over to look for him after removing his makeup, and his expression dropped a few degrees when he saw Xiao Nian. He walked over to them and, with a single hand movement, swept Xiao Nian’s hand off Pei Zhen’s shoulder.
“B-Best Actor Fu…” As usual, a trying-hard-to-please smile spread across his face when he saw Fu Sichen. “You’ve come to look for Pei Pei?”
Fu Sichen gave him a look that told him he was asking the obvious.
“In… in… in that case, please continue with your scripts…” Xiao Nian coughed twice and signaled to Pei Zhen before he hurriedly scurried away.
“Hey.” Pei Zhen looked displeased recalling Xiao Nian’s words. “Why do you think no one suspects that we are together, and thinks that we’re sharing this space so that we can discuss the script?”Fu Sichen paused for a bit. He was overjoyed that Pei Zhen would think that way, and a smile washed over his face. He took Pei Zhen’s arm and said, “Xiao Nian is not too intelligent and has limited brain capacity. He doesn’t understand the love between us.”
Pei Zhen made an annoyed sound and didn’t object.
As they were going out for dinner, Pei Zhen had to put on a light disguise, since they hadn’t come out to their parents.
There were only a handful of blessed people in the world who received perfect features. Even with dark glasses and a mask on, one could tell just by looking at Pei Zhen’s facial contours that his beauty had an unearthly quality.
They left from the back entrance of the filming location. Wang Youquan had been dismissed earlier, driving the mini-van that Fu Sichen would normally use.
Fu Sichen had instead retrieved the Land Rover from his luxury cars garage. The body of the car was large, and its body shape resembled that of a wild beast—menacing and overbearing.
Pei Zhen looked on with envy. “Limited edition? How did you manage to get this, Fu Sichen?”
Fu Sichen opened the passenger seat door for Pei Zhen and leaned over so that he was closer to the man. “Do you like it? Kiss me, and I’ll give it to you.”
“For real?”
Pei Zhen took Fu Sichen’s words as a joke. The fact was that he’d wanted to kiss Fu Sichen anyway.
His lifted his head and pressed his lips against his boyfriend’s thin and good-looking ones. It was intended to be a quick kiss, but once the lips met, it was as though they were addicted to each other.
Although it was the back room of the filming location, it wasn’t unexpected to have reporters lurking around there sometimes.
The two of them were entwined for a while, their breathing becoming heavy and rapid. It was only when Pei Zhen was almost out of breath that Fu Sichen reluctantly got up.
Walking around to the driver’s seat, Fu Sichen got into the car and started the engine. Just as he looked into the rear view mirror, he thought he spotted a bright red dot flashing across the mirror. But when he looked again, it was gone and everything seemed normal.
It could’ve been his imagination.
Fu Sichen didn’t think any further of it. He stepped on the accelerator and drove away.
Fu Sichen had made a reservation at a well-known Michelin-star restaurant in Dong Hai City.
The hotel was by the sea and offered a peerless view of the magnificent waves through its full-length windows. Particularly at night, there was no other restaurants around that could beat this.
“Any wine for you?” Fu Sichen asked Pei Zhen in his irresistibly sultry and deep voice. “They do carry a very well-known collection of red wine here.”
What would drinking wine mean?
Pei Zhen had a strange gut feeling about that.
He was a little nervous, but one couldn’t tell from his face. In a relaxed manner, he replied, “Of course. I’ll have a drink.”
Alcohol gives courage, and makes one lose control!
