Whether he was going to leave the entertainment circle, Pei Zhen had no idea.

After all, an artiste that came out of the closet would have ruined his own career path.

Pei Zhen’s heart warmed because of the fans who cared and were concerned, but at the same time, he felt apologetic towards them.

Not giving the receptionist a direct answer, Pei Zhen laughed, his eyes twinkling like stars. “So stubborn huh? Sorry.”

It was just like that.

It was hard to resist the charming male idol. It was obvious that he was under intense pressure at the moment.

The receptionist shed a few tears. “Pei Pei… I-I wasn’t blaming you. I wish you all the happiness—whether you’ve found yourself a boyfriend or a girlfriend, you’re still my favorite Daddy Pei!”

The receptionist had no idea where she got the courage but managed to deliver a loud and affirming word of support, causing Xiao Nian to almost trip as he rushed down from afar to receive Pei Zhen. More unbelievable was that his Daddy Pei actually declared in the hearing of everyone.

“For sure, I will take care of Fu Sichen, I won’t let him suffer.”

Xiao Nian was flabbergasted.

The receptionist was blown-away.

And those looking on were speechless.

Fu Sichen looked so handsome and imposing, so it was hard to imagine that he was the weaker party.

“Cough, cough.” Xiao Nian coughed and hurried over. “Pei Pei, the big boss is in the office.”

With a raise of his brow, Pei Zhen’s smile disappeared. He had a lazy expression, but that didn’t hide his cold indifference. “Okay.”

He followed Xiao Nian to the top floor. Still taking good care of Pei Zhen, Xiao Nian pulled open the door for the young man. “Pei Pei.”

As the door of the meeting room swung open, Pei Zhen came eye to eye with the big boss—a balding middle-aged man who laughed icily as he watched them enter. “Already in deep trouble yet still so grand? Xiao Nian, are you dictated by an urge to serve and can’t get away from being a dog?”

Hey, that was a personal attack?

Immediately Pei Zhen’s face hardened, and he looked like he was about to lash out. Xiao Nian quickly pulled him back with an expression indicating that he was alright.

The most important thing to Xiao Nian was to help Pei Zhen negotiate the best deal. Hence even though the big boss was sarcastic, Xiao Nian only smiled and tried not to take things to heart.

Pei Zhen suppressed his anger and sat down, looking the big boss in the eyes. His daggers were drawn, and he was ready to fight.

“Mr. Pei.” The secretary hurried to serve up the termination papers to Pei Zhen on a signal from the big boss. “This is the agreement, so please take a look.”

Saying that, she also added, “If anything needs changing, we can adjust.”

“There will be no changes!” That immediately angered the big boss. “It was he who didn’t comply to the terms and caused us financial loss. Are you stupid? Have you become Pei Zhen’s dog too?”

The secretary turned pale. She opened and shut her mouth without saying a word, then lowered her head and sat down.

Pei Zhen’s expression was icy, and he took no heed at Xiao Nian’s signal to calm down. “General Manager Liu, you keep using the word ‘dog’—your bark is quite loud.”

“You!”

“I’ll look at the agreement now.” Pei Zhen smiled and flipped open the document. “I have to pay up the 80 million today, and the interest is 0.01% for one second of delay… one second? General Manager Liu, have you become a desperate pauper recently?”

Yes, coming out of the closet was his own fault, but he had never come across an agency that treated their artistes like that.

Initially Pei Zhen had even intended to make a peaceful apology, but because the big boss had been so unreasonably hostile, Pei Zhen immediately retorted, “General Manager Liu, I’d like to ask, within the context of this agreement, did the terms of breaching of contract include coming out of the closet?”

“What?”

“The answer is no.”
