Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough
-
chapter-198
The aftermath of the fight with the demonic cultivator did not really lead to anything as the nearby ruin had been destroyed during their fight and everything on the demonic cultivator had ended up getting destroyed by the demonic artifact when it escaped.
Xuan Hao did not really see a reason to stay around for any longer as he left the area and landed a few miles away to resume his walk through the ancient forest while trying to look for more ruins on his way back towards the entrance.
Not wanting to be too fast and end up arriving before the other bigshots arrived to fight for control over the secret realm with the Sky Empire…
Like this, Xuan Hao once again resumed his journey through the Nascent Soul Realm Area of the secret realm on foot. Observing his surroundings as he hoped that he would have a chance to encounter an ancient ruin without it getting destroyed in the process this time…
"Hm?" Just as Xuan Hao was walking without anything happening, a small sound could be heard from the system as Xuan Hao quickly checked up on it in his sea of consciousness.[Side Quest: Disciple, Qing Yi, Becomes a Journeyman Alchemist(complete)]
[Reward: Artisan level Alchemist Knowledge and skill]
[Redeem Reward: Y/N]
"This is… Unexpected… Seems like Qing Yi did not slack of when it came to alchemy!" Smiling to himself as he saw one of his side quests being completed, Xuan Hao redeemed the reward from the system and instantly felt a large amount of information about all sorts of different pills and potions fill up his mind.
The information that he gained from the side quest was of course not just limited to different potion and pill recipes, but also included knowledge about all sorts of spiritual herbs that he never knew about before from the Mortal Rank all the way up to the Soul Rank.
There was even information about some rather unique spiritual herbs as well and one of these unique herbs was the Purple Sky Flower…
Contrary to its name sounding quite majestic, the herb itself was a rare but pretty useless Earth Rank spiritual herb. The only use of the herb was to cause the person who consumed it to giggle uncontrollably for up to an hour depending on how much of the herb was consumed…The information that he gained of course contained a large number of useless potions and pills as well and to be honest, Xuan Hao felt that the majority of the potion recipes that he had gotten was completely useless…
A potion that changes one's hair colour needing over a dozen different Soul Rank spiritual herbs to brew…
But this was not the worst of it, as another potion required hundreds of different rare and exotic herbs and its only use was to cause someone to develop a fear of rabbits… This was a pinnacle Artisan level potion and was the most difficult potion to make that Xuan Hao got the recipe to…
"Now that I look closer… aren't all these recipes useless!?" Looking over the different recipes that he was given by the system, Xuan Hao did not discover a single normal one among them and began to doubt whether or not he had truly become an Artisan Alchemist…
He could indeed effortlessly brew these Artisan level potions… But all of them were completely useless!
If he wanted to brew a normal Artisan level potion or pill that did not belong to the ones that the system had graciously bestowed upon him earlier, Xuan Hao would still have to spend the time learning the potion or pill recipes from scratch…
While he would undoubtedly be faster as he was already an Artisan Alchemist, it would still take some time to learn the different recipes and he would still have to find some…
The only place Xuan Hao knew about with that level of alchemist recipes was the notebook of Lord Kubera… Outside of that, he had no clue about where to find any pill or potion recipes for the Artisan level…
After all, the Flying Sword Sect never had an Artisan Alchemist and therefore never really saw the need to try and gather any alchemist recipes outside of those for alchemists below the Artisan level…
"W-what should I do with this…?" Xuan Hao felt confused and disappointed at the sudden turn of event.
He had become an Artisan Alchemist and had a myriad of different potion and pill recipes, but all of them were useless!
Even if he was an Artisan Alchemist, it was only in regard to his understanding of alchemy and spiritual herbs… When it came to truly making any useful potions or pills, he could be considered to be completely useless!
"At least I should be able to teach Qing Yi with the knowledge I gained… I don't need to make any pills or potions myself; I will just let my disciple make them for me!" Muttering this to himself, Xuan Hao no longer felt that the quest reward was so useless anymore as it would allow for him to teach Qing Yi personally when it came to alchemy now!
Maybe this was the goal of the system. For him to teach his disciple instead of letting others do the job for him…
Yes... This was definitely what the system planned...
…
A few hours earlier at the Flying Sword Sect, the information about the secret realm opening had already spread to the upper echelons of the sect over the past few days as they planned to just quietly observe the situation from the side and not get involved in it.
After all, the sect master was currently in closed door seclusion attempting to breakthrough and they did not really have enough Nascent Soul Realm Experts to send out to explore the secret realm and could definitely not afford to lose even a single one of them.
Other than that, there was also Shu Yao currently staying at the sect under the request of the sect master himself.
Leaving the protection of the sect to her as they went out to explore the secret realm did not seem like such a good idea…
As the Flying Sword Sect had decided to ignore the secret realm and just remain on the side-lines, Xuan Hao's two disciples did not know anything about it as both of them just kept up their normal schedule.
"Where do you think master went?" Walking back to the pavilion of Xuan Hao, Qing Yi asked with a curious expression on her face as she looked over at Chu Yang walking beside her.
They had just recently finished a practice match against each other and were making their way back to the pavilion to rest up and understand the things they had learned from their earlier spar.
"I have no idea about that… Master just said he would be leaving for a few days, but I think I heard him mention something about Chi Hu that we met earlier at the Third Star Peak. Maybe he went out to try and recruit him?" Thinking about it for a moment, Chu yang could not think about any other reason why their master would suddenly leave for a few days.
"I see… I guess that is reasonable, it would never hurt to have more Nascent Soul Realm Experts like master in the sect…" Nodding her head to Chu Yang's answer, Qing Yi felt what he had said was reasonable, but for some reason she still felt like there was something wrong.
If master wanted to recruit him, it would surely not have taken so long… Maybe he had moved to an area far away or something?
"Ah, looks like Zhi Ruo is not here at the moment…" Qing Yi felt this was a little unreasonable, but her train of thought was interrupted as Chu Yang called out as both of them arrived in front of the pavilion.
Zhi Ruo, who was normally always present in front of the pavilion was indeed gone and the pavilion looked a bit lonely to Qing Yi as she entered it and soon parted ways with Chu Yang and made her way back to her own room.
"Hah… What should I do?" Throwing herself down on her bed after making it back to her room, Qing Yi rolled around as she thought about what to do next.
Originally, she wanted to hang out with Zhi Ruo and maybe grab something to eat in one of the many shops located just outside the entrance of the Flying Sword Sect.
But now that her original plan of action for the rest of the day did not seem plausible anymore, Qing Yi suddenly felt at a loss about what to do.
Rolling around her bed wondering what to do, Qing Yi felt that she hit something and turned over to see that it was a small notebook written by one of the seniors of the Alchemy Hall.
The notebook had been given to her after she asked one of her seniors about higher level recipes and she had been told that the different potion and pill recipes inside of the notebook would be good for her to train with as they were relatively easy to understand and did not require a lot of expensive spiritual herbs to make in the first place.
"Hm? Maybe I should try and practice the new alchemy recipes I recently picked up at the Alchemy Hall…" Muttering this to herself in a quiet voice, Qing Yi picked up the small notebook and began looking through it for a few minutes before deciding on one of the many recipes inside.
"Hop!" Jumping off her bed, Qing Yi made her way out of her room towards a room where she could practice the new alchemy recipe.
