669 Turn Agains “Mage, when I led Mr. Chen into the library, he said that he met a woman who told him that there’s a secret library below it. She also wanted to have Mr. Chen go open it.”Catherine’s face changed instantly, turning into an expression of shock.
“Where’s Mr. Chen? Did he come out?”
“No, he’s still there.”
“Raise the alarm. Red alarm!” Catherine’s expression grew more uncomfortable.
“President, what’s wrong? Red alarm? Against who? Mr. Chen?”Catherine didn’t reply to Charlotte. Her expression grew more serious and even a bit worried.
…
A bell?
Chen Zhao heard the alarms above.
Just then, he felt a breeze behind him.
Turning around, he saw that the woman had appeared again.
“Hi.” Chen Zhao greeted her and went back to reading his book.“Don’t you want to go down and see? You’ll receive unimaginable power. There are even stronger spell books below.”
The Dark Serum under Chen Zhao’s feet suddenly slid over, grabbing at the woman.
But she stood on the Dark Serum without moving.
Chen Zhao was a bit disappointed. This woman wasn’t solid.
However, she wasn’t a spirit either. She might be made out of some spell.
“Don’t disturb me. I’m busy.” Chen Zhao waved his hand.
“Do you want to know the secrets of the world? Come down and you’ll get the answer.”
“Is your true body stuck down there?” Chen Zhao asked.
“Wealth, honor, and women,” the woman continued. “I can give you everything.”
“You don’t sound convincing. If you strip and walk before me for three minutes, I might be tempted.”
“…”
The woman’s expression stiffened. “Why aren’t you getting bewitched?”
“Uh…” Chen Zhao was confused too. “Did you use some spell earlier?”
The woman stared hard at Chen Zhao but disappeared in the end.
Duang—duang—
The bell kept ringing above the library, so Chen Zhao couldn’t focus.
He recorded the content of some books on his phone.
Then he went upstairs. But when he walked out, he saw that a dozen witches surrounded the door.
It didn’t feel right.
Were they getting prepared to fight someone?
“Catherine, I just need to confirm. Are you going to declare war on me?”
Catherine stared hard at him. “Mr. Chen, did you encounter anything just then?”
Chen Zhao thought about it. “You mean, that woman that kept appearing before me?”
“You did see her? What did you two talk about?”
“Nothing much.” Chen Zhao shook his head.
It wasn’t like he could say that he wanted the woman to strip, so their negotiation failed, right?
Suddenly, Catherine lifted her eyes, shooting a look.
The five witches on the side cast a spell at Chen Zhao—Whip Extraordinaire.
Chen Zhao’s left leg and leg was entangled in five whips shimmering with silver light.
He pulled and the five witches fell over. Chen Zhao dragged one witch to the front and grabbed her neck.
“Catherine, I hope you can give me an explanation, or else I won’t play nice either.”
“Mr. Chen, if you wish to continue our friendship, let that girl go and accept our test. We must ensure that you weren’t affected by that thing below.”
“I’m not your captive.” Chen Zhao glanced at the girl in his hands. “It’s an adult fight. Kids, get out of here.”
He tossed the girl far away and tugged down the ropes on him.
The whips seemed to be supported by magic and were very sturdy.
“Mr. Chen, I’m not joking.” Catherine looked seriously at him.
“Catherine, I’m not joking either,” Chen Zhao said with a dark expression. “I won’t accept some stupid test.”
“Mage, is there some misunderstanding?” Charlotte quickly came to try and smooth things out.
“He sensed that thing, but if you sense it, then you’ll be unable to be free of its bewitchment. Everyone becomes possessed in the end.” Catherine looked at Chen Zhao and said, “Mr. Chen, for you and everyone around you, please go into self-confinement.”
Chen Zhao laughed out of anger. What was this bullsh*t?
Why did he have to go into self-confinement for no reason?
“Do you think I’m easy to bully?”
“Seems like we’ll have to fight.”
Catherine sighed and knocked her cane on the ground. “Cage of Light!”
A sword fell from the sky, shining with golden light, and stabbed into the ground.
And then a second sword, third, fourth…
The swords surrounded Chen Zhao in a ring.
Then the gold light intertwined, going above Chen Zhao’s head and transforming into a cage.
Chen Zhao’s expression darkened. “You really want to fight?”
“You’ve already gotten affected by that thing. Your heart is twisted.” Catherine’s tone was filled with regret.
Chen Zhao reached out to grab the bars and break them.
But the Cage of Light was extremely hot. He couldn’t even touch it.
“It’s no use. The Cage of Light is filled with divine power. Any impure people who touch it will be burned.”
“F*ck you, impure people!” Chen Zhao lost his temper.
The Cage of Light suddenly dimmed under Chen Zhao’s furious attacks.
However, he couldn’t break it.
“Mr. Chen, there is a sinful fallen witch sealed below,” Catherine explained seriously. “She is the most skilled person in bewitchment. If you stop fighting, I can expel the bewitchment. But if you continue to support that power, you’ll sink further and further.”
Chen Zhao didn’t think he’d gotten bewitched. He was still himself. He wouldn’t get possessed by anything.
He took out the bronze sword and glared at Catherine. “Let me ask you one more time. Undo the Cage of Light or I’ll break it myself and knock your old head off.”
“Seems like you’ve been completely swayed by the bewitchment.” Catherine shook her head. “Everyone, support the Cage of Light.”
All the witches pointed their wands at the cage. It shone even brighter.
Chen Zhao hacked at the bars with his sword, but a strong reverberation almost made the sword fall from his hands.
This was already his strongest sword, but the Cage of Light didn’t budge.
“Mr. Chen, you can’t fight against so many witches by yourself. Surrender.”
Catherine’s words couldn’t calm him down. Instead, he grew more furious.
“You’ll regret it!”
