The horrifying attack came to an end, for now. The Tian Yin Squad suffered heavy casualties. A total of five members were cut into pieces by the Purple Jade Condor’s glowing wings, all of them losing their lives on the spot.

“How is this possible…” Xu Ao muttered, wiping away the fresh blood splattered on his face, his eyes dull.

Even so, before he could understand how the Purple Jade Condor’s speed became so fast at the last second, and how its wings contained such might, the Purple Jade Condor quickly returned, skimming so low its body was nearly in contact with the ground.

The Purple Jade Condor’s wings were again shining with a cold light. It was like a high speed fighter plane, flying back at them close to the ground. Just as it was about to fly past another squad member, its left wing sank slightly lower.

There was a soft sound. Limbs separated from the body, and blood splattered all over.

That squad member didn’t even get a chance to cry out before losing their life.

After killing another person, the Purple Jade Condor continued defying the laws of physics. It didn’t beat its wings, but it didn’t slow down in the slightest, nor fall to the ground.

The gliding figure drew a slight arc in the air, and soon caught up to another Tian Yin Squad member crawling frantically about on all four limbs.

“Help! No!…”

The squad member could clearly feel the grim reaper’s scythe waving closer and closer to him. Before he could finish his desperate scream for help, the Purple Jade Condor flew past him, its right wing slicing him from behind.

The sharp wings cut into the squad member’s body from his left hip, exiting from his right shoulder. His blood and organs sprayed out together. Dead!

After witnessing all of this, Xu Ao’s face was white as sheet, without any color of blood. At this moment, he suddenly recalled something and hurriedly yelled out, “Use your subdued beasts to deal with it!” After which, he quickly crawled and hid himself behind a rock about the size of a small car, his chest rising and falling rapidly.

With Xu Ao’s reminder, the eight lucky survivors quickly reacted. They summoned their subdued beasts and dispersed in all directions, hiding under anything that could conceal them, hoping to survive this ordeal.

However, the Purple Jade Condor seemed to have entered an invincible mode. Its figure moved quickly and nimbly, its wings emanating that cold light. Any subdued beasts that stood before it were like butter meeting a hot knife, cleanly cut in two and turned into streaks of light, dissipating.

The combined force of a few dozen subdued beasts was unable to stall the Purple Jade Condor in the slightest. Its sharp eyes were locked onto the escaping humans, its fighter plane-like figure flying back and forth like a boomerang, drawing beautiful arcs in the air one after another, sweeping over the area in a hundred meter radius.

Desperate shrieks rang out one after another in quick succession, severed limbs and crimson blood flew about in the air, turning this area into a living hell.

“Chief, save me!” Xiaoqi cried out, his snot and tears flowing, as he rolled himself towards the gap between two rocks ahead, seeking help from Xu Ao. His face was filled with fear and helplessness, like a young girl surrounded by a dozen of burly men, not knowing what to do.

However, the current Xu Ao only wished he could hide better. Where would he find the compassion to care if the others were dead or alive?

In the next moment, the Purple Jade Condor that had annihilated everyone else looked at the running Xiaoqi, its figure shoooting towards him.

“Chief, save me! Ah!-”

A splash of blood gushed out. Xiaoqi’s head flew aimlessly in the air, his eyes filled with horror, unwillingness, reluctance, and many other complicated feelings, the light in them quickly fading.

In the sky, the Cloud Sparrow that was still dutifully observing Zhang Che suddenly let out a sorrowful cry. Its body turned into light, scattered by the wind.

In less than a minute, the Tian Yin Squad, with the exception of Xu Ao, had been massacred by the Purple Jade Condor!

Xu Ao’s body was curled up and shaking, hiding under the rock. He was praying inwardly to every single god he knew, “Please don’t see me, please don’t see me!”

An earth-shattering noise rang out as a purple form flew past at blinding speed. The huge rock Xu Ao was hiding under was split apart horizontally from its base. Countless small rocks flew about, hitting Xu Ao’s back. He endured the pain, biting his lips to the point of bleeding, but didn’t dare to move an inch.

Not even three seconds later, the Purple Jade Condor returned. Its purplish-black, fighter plane-like figure quickly magnified in his eyes.

“I’m finished; am I going to die here today?” Xu Ao’s eyes were wide from shock, his mind in chaos.

The rapidly approaching Purple Jade Condor suddenly let out a pained cry. The glow in its wings instantly dimmed, and its huge figure fell uncontrollably to the ground, sliding across a huge piece of land, uprooting the bushes and grasses as it slid past.

Xu Ao, fully prepared for death, watched the Purple Jade Condor blankly as it slid to a short distance away from him. His expression rapidly changed, suddenly laughing out loud.

“Hahahaha, your daddy is alive, your daddy is alive!”

Looking at the Purple Jade Condor lying on the ground in front of him, bleeding from all seven orifices and not moving, Xu Ao naturally understood that it wasn’t that their attacks failed to injure this horrifying flying beast, but that they came into effect a little late.

“Since you failed to kill me, now it’s my turn to kill you!”

Xu Ao’s face was filled with joy as he watched the Purple Jade Condor on its last breath. He summoned all five of his subdued beasts with a wave of his hand, all of them pouncing at it at the same time.

Before the subdued beasts could reach it, the Purple Jade Condor let out another pained cry. Its prone body suddenly turned into a mass of light, and quickly collapsed inwards. It transformed into a card with a dark golden glow, lying on the desolate soil quietly.

At the same time, a twisted bolt appeared out of nowhere, falling down next to the dark gold card.

This bolt that had penetrated deep into the Purple Jade Condor’s head finally claimed the life of the mighty beast.

Xu Ao blanked out for a moment. Afterwards, he went wild with joy, exclaiming, “This is… a dark gold-quality beast card! Hahahaha, I didn’t think there would be a day when I’d have a dark gold beast card, too! The heavens have finally smiled upon me – ugh…!”

Xu Ao’s crazed laughter stopped abruptly. He looked down at his chest in disbelief. There was a hole near his heart, blood gushing out of it. His face froze instantly.

Many complicated feelings flashed in his eyes. When he looked back up and towards the hill about a hundred meters out, he saw a creature resembling a monkey wielding a black and white bow, smiling at him mockingly.

-I must have been scared silly. A monkey that shoots arrows? The heavens really do know how to crack a freaking joke…- That final thought flashed through Xu Ao’s mind, before everything faded to black before his eyes. His body fell weakly backwards, slamming onto the grass.

At the same time, the handful of subdued beasts that were still charging forward let out cries one after another, and turned into streaks of light, disappearing from the world.
