Divine Emperor of Death

chapter-1356
Davis was watching all this happen with satisfaction.
His Shirley beating up and tormenting Top Disciple Vito Rein was a fantastic spectacle to him, feeling that it was well deserved. Among the men in the crowd, perhaps he was the only one who didn't close his legs upon seeing Top Disciple Vito Rein's life jewels be crushed because he had already seen it coming and was prepared for it.
He remained utterly satisfied by her ruthlessness and hoped that she wouldn't kick him there if he were to do any wrong, that was at least until these Grand Elders began to fly towards her. His black eyes became colder by the second. His body flashed from where he was seated as he arrived before them, looking at these old fogies with a frown on his face.
The Grand Elders also stopped, their crimson eyes narrowing in scrutiny, not to his identity but his true cultivation, which they couldn't garner even after much deliberation.
"Protector Chu Feng, you can remain seated. It's not like we're going to harm Top Disciple Shirley." One of them spoke up.He possessed a crimson beard that extended to the base of his neck.
"Yes," Another Grand Elder with a crimson mustache spoke, "We just want to ask why she would be ruthless eno-"
"Do you think I care about that?" Davis interrupted as he raised his hand and pointed at each of them, "If you all come near Shirley without her permission, I will naturally have to make a move in advance to protect her. That's all I care about, and you elders would all know what I would do as her protector...."
"Insolence!"
The third and last Grand Elder who flew here flared as his Low-Level Law Rune Stage undulations began to swell. His face looked stern and strict like Grand Elder Claus Strom, but he possessed a devious curve to his crimson eyebrows. He took a step forward, but a melodious voice caused him to stop in his tracks!
"Stand down..."
That Grand Elder looked shaken as he turned back. Everyone turned to look at the source of the voice as they saw that it was none other than Sect Master Lea Weiss. She sat straight, her regal gaze glaring down on them.
"But Sect Master... Shirley caused Top Disciple Vito Rein to be gravely injured. It is rather obvious that she had the intent to kill...!"
Everyone shifted their gaze to Top Disciple Vito Rein and saw that he was breathing heavily, his chest heaving up and down as he craved for the heaven and earth energy. It seemed that he had just recovered from clearing Shirley's burning phoenix flames running amok inside his body. He struggled to get up but fell before he raised his head and cried out with moistened eyes.
"Grand Elders, you must get justice for me!"
"Look at what you did to me, Shirley! How are you going to compensate me!?"
Shirley looked indifferent to his screams, not at all bothering about him as if she had no conscience. People couldn't help but have pity well up within them, but as soon as they realized what kind of scum he was, their pity was all thrown into the trash bin in their souls.
"Look at that Sect Master. Top Disciple Shirley shows no remorse and refuses to answer Top Disciple Vito Rein's plea. I think we need to question the character and morals Top Disciple Shirley possesses, or else, we risk the danger of nurturing a potential wicked path character..."
Everyone sucked in a breath of cold air! Wicked path character?
Wasn't it going too far? Actually, wasn't Top Disciple Vito Rein more of a wicked path character? Abusing his talent and status to have his way with almost everything, including women?
Who were they trying to kid?
However, none of them dared to open their mouth and say it out loud because they craved for their lives. They all had a bright future ahead of them if they knew their place, so why would they go out of their way to behead themselves?
"Grand Elders, I muse that we were watching the same battle, right?" Sect Master Lea Weiss suddenly voiced out.
"Uh... Yes..."
The devious eyebrowed Grand Elder looked a bit confused.
Wasn't that rather obvious?
"Then, we did hear Shirley asking him to surrender, right?"
"Yes, but-"
"But she was ruthless?" Sect Master Lea Weiss's voice became a bit amused, "Why do you think that she was ruthless? Perhaps, you can try repeating to me what Top Disciple Vito Rein said to Shirley after she asked him to surrender and see if I become ruthless or not?"
"!!!"
That Grand Elder gulped as the step he took forward was placed back in its initial position. He turned around in a smooth manner in mid-air and left, followed by the other two Grand Elders before all of them returned to their seats.
Everyone naturally saw this happen. It played out right in front of their eyes, but other than watching it with wide eyes painted with disbelief, they were not even able to laugh. The level of the conversation was that unreachable for them.
Even Davis looked flabbergasted by Sect Master Lea Weiss's question and her daringness.
She had basically asked them to say to her: "Fuck you, you wench! I'm going to kill you!"
These were Top Disciple Vito Rein's own words.
But who in their right mind would say it to the Sect Master's face?
That was undoubtedly... courting death!
Nevertheless, he removed his gaze from her and turned around to look at Shirley, nodding his head. Shirley reciprocated the nod with a smile hidden behind her crimson veil while her eyes also smiled. Her body flashed as she arrived beside him, seemingly talking through soul transmission.
Nobody was suspicious about their closeness despite the rumors that Top Disciple Shirley doesn't like to be close with male disciples. They only thought he might be an elder of her reserved background and nothing more.
Top Disciple Vito Rein saw Shirley flying away scot-free before he lowered his head, gazing at his balls that were crushed by the soles of her heels. Severe pain was still running through him as one of it was destroyed, making him feel deep fear in regards to his future and descendants.
Even though he had slept with many women, he was careful not to impregnate them as he wanted his very first progeny to be extremely talented, but now, it was questionable if he could even make a woman give birth to his progeny.
This kind of twist left him reeling in anxiety and depression that his eyes shot up as he collapsed, appearing to have fainted.
The referee shook his head and flew away to his position in mid-air. An elder arrived from Grand Elder Valerian's camp and took the fainted Top Disciple Vito Rein away.
When Davis returned to his seat after having praised Shirley, a soul transmission fell on Shirley's mind.
"With this, you have offended us two times, Shirley. If you obediently give up, then I won't take these two matters into account when it's finally time. I assure you that my father would also not trouble you anymore. You know how I treat my women, right? They're my world, and you're also my world."
Top Disciple Azzuren Rein shot a handsome smile at Shirley as he spoke from his seat, having one of his legs crossed on top of the other in a prideful manner.
Shirley rolled her eyes at his words. She had already relayed her intent to these three brothers that she wasn't interested, but they never knew when to give up.
She secretly killed their third brother, Schneider Rein, publically humiliated the second brother, Vito Rein, and the only one left was this sick Azzuren Rein. She began contemplating whether to challenge him or not, but without using her fire phoenix flames, she wasn't sure or arrogant enough to believe that she could win against him.
What she showed a while ago was already her max with her unstable cultivation base. If it became stable and grew to the very peak, she mused that she could even defeat Top Disciple Vito Rein with the same moves and intensity even if his cultivation base was at the Low-Level Law Sea Stage.
That was how powerful she was, but Top Disciple Azzuren Rein was in the Mid-Level Law Sea Stage, and he had similar prowess relative to his brothers, meaning that he could slightly battle against Peak-Level Law Sea Stage Experts. He was even eligible to become an Elder as he had reached the required prowess, but to lose the top disciple position in exchange for an Elder's status was folly.
The former rewarded much more compared to becoming an Elder of the Burning Phoenix Ridge.
For top disciples, promoting themselves straight to the status of Grand Elder was the right thing to do, unless, of course, their time as top disciples matures, having to settle for the position of an Elder. Settling for the latter is even considered a disgrace among top disciples, so it is rather obvious that they would strive to become a Grand Elder even if they must scheme and kill to reach that level.
In any case, Shirley already knew that she was not quite powerful enough yet to challenge Top Disciple Azzuren Rein at this point in time. If her cultivation base was stable, then she was convinced that she could defeat him. So she didn't bother with him now and looked at the proud female who reigned as the beauty of the entire sect before she came.
"Verona, I challenge you to a battle."
"I've been waiting all for this moment, Shirley."
Top Disciple Verona Stein stood up, her crimson eyes curving joyfully as she gracefully floated and flew towards the battle stage.
