Divine Emperor of Death

chapter-2446
Just as Davis and Myria got into their positions, a voice echoed out suddenly.
"You two…" Ellia facepalmed, "… battling is prohibited here in this pure land and skies. Go to the battle arena on the lowest floor if you want to spar."
"Erm…"
The both of them came to a stop, looking at each other with some awkwardness before Davis smirked.
"Seems like Ellia has read through the rules while you have not.""Shut up. I have also read it, but I don't need to follow everything as I have special rights. But in respect to Saintess Lunaria, let's change the location."
Myria waved her hand, stepping into a spatial vortex as she disappeared. Davis and Ellia followed her into it, ending up on a vast platform that blotted out the earth. They were in a dome-like structure with four grand pillars holding up the skies.
The architecture was exquisitely inspiring, causing Davis to appear a few hundred meters away from Myria as he gestured with his hand.
"Please."
"Watch out."
Myria's figure shook like a breeze. The next moment, she appeared before him like a ghost, her figure graceful as a swallow as she swiped her two fingers at him like she was using a sword. Pitch-black soul force sharply streamed through the air, rushing towards him with a life-severing intent.
*Rip!~*Heaven and earth energy visibly parted as a piercing power cut through the air, slicing across Davis's waist. The terrifying undulations sought to lock him in place, forcing him to take the blow.
'Level Nine Immortal Stage!?'
Davis's eyes lit up as he sensed the undulations of this attack.
That was already eight levels higher than her current cultivation. He quickly processed in his mind that her death comprehension was still amazing as ever and had probably reached Level Nine Intent, the max one could reach for the Immortal Stage.
Therefore, it could only mean that her Soul Forging Cultivation prowess was eight levels higher.
Nonetheless, he suddenly smiled and forcefully withstood the attack.
*Puch!~*
"…!"
Myria's eyes widened as she saw him become smile like a fool. She had almost pulled back her attack, but then, she saw her death energy fall short of being unable to slice through him. Instantly, her astonishment turned into one of understanding as her lips moved.
"Chaotic energy…"
Myria's lips curved as she came to a stop and raised her hand.
"I see you have managed to master the supreme Grand Chaos Body Art. Then… you won't at least die."
Iridescent energy of black and white hue appeared over her palm before Myria grasped it. Her casting time was extremely fast, faster than what Davis had accomplished during his immortal tribulation as his eyes frowned.
"Oye, you're going to use the Spear of Damnation Technique? This is just a spar." He knew of its deadliness.
If it pierced him and invaded his soul, then living with a clear mind would truly be a luxury. Who knew if his chaotic-tempered immortal body would be able to withstand such a might?
"Clearly, I know that I can't pierce your defense without using this kind of technique. Just give up if you don't like it."
Myria's expression changed as the black-white spear in her hand thrummed with a mystical aura. She took a step forward and rushed towards him.
Davis sensed her reincarnation energy attack reach the peak of Level Ten Immortal Stage, which was nine levels higher than her cultivation base. She truly was not holding back.
However, didn't she say that she could only battle eight levels higher?
'Could that be in the Immortal King Stage…?'
Davis pursed his lips, understanding that she could go as far as nine levels above in the Immortal Stage and to the peak of nine levels with reincarnation energy techniques. It was no wonder she kept reiterating that her physique would display its marvel upon crossing immortality. He had to admit that she was still overpowered in her Soul Forging Cultivation.
He hadn't reached such a level yet since he was lacking in comprehension compared to her.
However…
"Careful…!"
Davis's chaotic seed resting at the core of his middle dantian rapidly spun at this moment. It sent a wave of chaotic energy gushing out of his dantian as it flooded to his right hand as he swung a punch.
It was just a punch with a clear form. Yet, it caused the air to cave and Myria's expression to freeze.
*Bang!~*
She struck the Spear of Damnation against his fist but was sent flying like a rag doll, spinning across the battle arena as she crashed into the surface.
The ground didn't even break, perhaps made out of Immortal Emperor Grade ores. Instead, it caused cracking sounds to echo as Myria's bones cracked under pressure. However, she somehow managed to minimize the damage as she balanced herself and stood on the platform.
*Pui!~*
However, she threw up a mouthful of blood and collapsed to her knees, causing Davis's eyes to widen.
"Mother!"
Ellia's expression changed as she screamed with worry. Her figure flashed as she hurriedly appeared before Myria, capturing her shoulder as she supported her.
But on the other hand, Myria was hurriedly suppressing the chaotic energy that had invaded her body and caused her internal organs to be shaken greatly.
Moreover, his seemingly simple attack had reached the foot of Level Eleven Immortal Stage!? Just how can it be possible?
She couldn't understand.
However, only Davis knew what had been expended to use this kind of attack.
Davis sensed that ten percent of his martial energy was used for that simple attack. Truly, using chaotic energy outside his body was throwing money at a bottomless well. It felt like it was never enough, but as long as he circulated them within his body, then it didn't have much consumption.
"Davis, you- How can you do this to mother?"
Ellia hurriedly checked Myria's injuries and saw that a dozen of bones were broken and her organs were lacerated. Her eyes turned bloodshot as she couldn't help but pour her grievance out to Davis.
"Fine, fine. I was wrong. Let me make amends for injuring Myria with my overbearing prowess."
Davis felt awkward, but he kept an indifferent expression and appeared before them. As far as he considered, this was caused by Myria's decision to use the Spear of Damnation which had him become cautious and not limit his power. However, he couldn't be nitpicking about that with Ellia, who was in her emotions.
She had even forgotten to address Myria with the word elder sister instead of mother as she had her own pride, so he could see she was intrinsically perturbed.
With full force, he raised his hands and began using his life energy as he started healing Myria. A pure white barrier appeared around her, causing Myria's difficult expression to ease.
However, just as she slightly recovered, she wanted to move away as she tried to stand up, but Ellia tightly held her in place with tears forming in her eyes, harrumphing.
"Hmph! You wouldn't have won against him anyway. Be obedient."
"You-" Myria gawked at Ellia but was shot down again.
"He crossed an Annihilative Immortal Tribulation with all twelve Paragon Magical Beasts."
"…!"
Myria turned to look at him in shock. She had already expected him to have one or two more Paragon Magical Beasts than her, but six more!? All twelve of them with their own uniqueness!?
How did he survive that? Even she had almost died to the sixth beast.
Her pupils couldn't help but tremble as she turned to look at the surface, the blood she had spat out reflecting her disheveled figure.
Looking at her reaction, Davis finally felt satisfied. It was pure satisfaction filling his soul. However, knowing that he had lucked out with the deathly wolf and another device helping him out, his expression turned soft.
"Myria, thank you for the spirit formation. Without it, I would've died."
"I didn't share your burden. There's no need to thank me for what I've simply repaid."
Myria's expression was ice-cold. However, she had calmed down, providing an explanation with disinterest, unknown what she thought as she stared at the floor.
A few seconds later, she clenched her teeth.
"But just you wait… my prowess wouldn't be the same after I manage to accomplish what I wasn't able to before..."
"…" Davis blinked but then recalled that she had some Pill Recipe for creating an immortal body physique.
"Good. We can have a true rematch then."
He smiled and patted Myria's shoulder, causing the latter to freeze. But with him healing her, she was unable to say anything as she looked away, her bosoms heaving as though she was angered.
"…"
Davis didn't say anything and continued healing. He had done that on pure instinct, like how he would treat his sparring partner when battling with Evelynn, Isabella, and Nadia. There was no need to hug to encourage someone when sparring, after all. A little tap on their shoulder would be enough.
Meanwhile, Ellia's eyes squinted, her pupils eying the both of them with some suspicion.
