Divine Emperor of Death
chapter-2575-30041322

The sudden attack on the gathered disciples by an icy, tall, six-armed creature unleashed a mass panic in the area. Before they could even enter the area where the icy fog had started to dissipate, they were in danger.

This was unexpected as people had let their guard down as the two Mystic Diviners battled.

Around five people were dead, all core disciples. Only Mystic Diviner Hailac managed to somewhat dodge in time as she bent her body upon sensing the danger, but instead of her head, her arm was taken away. Only she knew how it was ripped apart with a single pull as the creature rushed past her.

"Ahhhh!!!"

But still, Mystic Diviner Hailac's screams grew several times worse as she held her shoulder. She turned around and tried to run, tears brimming out of her eyes as though she had never endured such pain in her life. Her pitch-white eyes were already blind, so she didn't rely on the natural perception of her eyes but on her senses to see through her eyes.

However, with fear gripping her heart, she was unable to use her perception properly but quickly took out something.

*Crack!~*

She crushed a talisman which abruptly turned into a bright white light that instantly shrouded her.

*Bang!~*

Six big fists smashed onto her barrier, causing Mystic Diviner Hailac to kneel as she spat a mouthful of blood.

"Waghhh!!!"

The Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend roared angrily as it threw its arms out and clenched her barrier with its bare arms, trying to crush her. Its shrill cry rang out, terrifying numerous disciples who tried to attack it into retreating.

However, when it saw it didn't work, it directly started attacking the barrier with two of its fists while holding the sphere with four hands.

Icy fists powered with extreme physical might were pulled back like catapults and smashed onto the barrier with intense force.

*Bang!~* *Bang!~* *Bang!~*

With the barrier being held in one place and just the impact alone made its way inside and shook the person inside, causing their organs to tumble. Every bone shook, and the outer skin cracked like frail porcelain.

Mystic Diviner Hailac's white eyes turned bloodshot as though her eyes were going to burst from the pure impact as she spat a mouthful of blood. Her body began spasming, and one could see bits and pieces of organs swelling up her throat even though she tried to suppress them before they were vomited out.

She was completely at the creature's mercy even though she had conjured an Immortal King Grade Defensive Talisman to protect her.

"No... save me!!!"

Just as she raised her head, she saw another fist coming her way, causing her to be completely mortified as she cried out for help. At this rate, her body would burst apart from being unable to endure the impact rather than the creature's fist obliterating her.

*PuchI!~*

But just at that moment, a ray of light shuttled across space and rushed past the creature. Consequently, the sphere fell, and along with it were four severed arms that were holding it with intense grip.

"Waghhh!!!!"

The Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend roared in pain as it turned to look at the interceptor, a golden-robed man with two swords strapped on his back, one currently being held in his grasp as he stared at it with utter calmness. Becoming provoked, it growled at him with its ripped jaws.

Its figure instantly disappeared from its location and crashed upon Niel Bladeheart's figure as it punched out.

*Boom!~*

Instantly, Niel Bladeheart's sword flexibly bent upon taking the punch, but as it rebounded, it sent him flying instead of the sword breaking and his body being smashed to smithereens. He still spat out a trail of blood in his trajectory that fell on the Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend's face, which it licked as it rolled around its sharp tongue, tasting the blood.

However, it didn't pursue him and turned to look at Mystic Diviner Hailac, its lips curving into a vile smile as it jumped, pouncing on her.

"No!!!"

Mystic Diviner Hailac screamed in terror as she saw the Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend pull back all six fists, four of which instantly regenerated back to health and emanated icy frost which encased its huge, sharp fingers as it turned into a crystal armor, resembling a spiky knuckle.

But at this moment, its expression abruptly changed as it stopped mid-air and quickly stomped the air to reel backward!

However, blood still splashed from the four regenerated arms again, and this time, as it landed on the ground and gazed at the new interceptor, it clenched its razor-sharp teeth and hissed as it was unable to regenerate its injury.

Looking at four of its six arms that were severed by the wrist, it glared at the purple-robed man who injured it with caution, narrowing its big yet bloodshot crimson eyes at him.

"You..." Mystic Diviner Hailac's gaze shook as she saw a purple-robed figure clad in pitch-black energy.

The deathly air around him was so heavy that even the Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend stayed away from being wary of it while she shuddered under the cold and ominous feeling that she had never experienced in her life.

What's more, being so close, she could perfectly sense his Soul Forging Cultivation which was at Level Seven Immortal Stage, further shocking her.

"Why...?" Her voice tinged out with disbelief that he would shield her from the Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend.

However, he said nothing and remained staring at the Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend.

*Whoosh!~*

Abruptly, the Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend smirked at him and rushed elsewhere. It appeared as though it got scared and ran away, but Mystic Diviner Hailac's expression changed as she screamed out.

"You... save your little aunt! I think it's targeting Mystic Diviners for some reason!"

Davis's sapphire pupils did indeed capture the Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend rushing towards his family, specifically aiming for Tia as it had its claws reached out. His eyes flashed with coldness, but he didn't make a move and only thought it was quite intelligent.

Turning to look at the injured woman behind him, he uttered with an indifferent expression.

"I figured... since it was hell-bent on smashing you."

"..."

Mystic Diviner Hailac was speechless. Was it the time to be giving smart answers?

However, she saw in the corner of her eyes the Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend's head abruptly got severed, blood spurting out in a tremendous wave as it splashed on the ground. A flash of a black light momentarily reflected in her empty gaze before it disappeared, but she swore that she saw it.

*Thud!~*

The Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend's body fell to the ground and rolled around like a ball before it came to a stop, blood leaking out of its severed neck. However, there was a layer of pitch-black energy floating around the severed part, appearing quite ominous and permanent, as though it was trying to corrupt its very nature.

During this time, not even Tia had a change in her expression as she absolutely believed that Davis wouldn't make the mistake of leaving them alone, and they were right.

Nadia had stayed behind. The Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend didn't even see her attack coming and died before it even knew what had happened. They all smirked, feeling quite proud of their fellow magical beast sister who took care of dangers before it even neared them, as always.

However, Davis had his eyes narrowed at the Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend's carcass for a moment before shaking his head.

"That's not the Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend, is it?"

"I... I don't know... but what makes you say that?"

Mystic Diviner Hailac shook her head absentmindedly before she returned her gaze to him. Did he truly anticipate the unknown creature's movements and have his mount stay with his people instead of having the mount protect him?

Was it his intelligence, or was he that confident in his strength?

"Well, for one, it's not quite... gargantuan, is it?"

Davis's expression betrayed his confusion, causing Mystic Diviner Hailac to be speechless again as she turned to look at its carcass.

Indeed, this unknown creature was no more than thirty-meter tall, so in the world of immortals, it definitely could not be called gargantuan, much less huge or even large. Even the Immortal Beast Stage dragons were around five hundred meters tall, and the average immortal beasts were a hundred meters tall or long.

Nonetheless, her senses quickly panned around as she saw Niel Bladeheart and a few others heading toward her, but the majority of the disciples had disappeared.

She knew that the others had rushed past this area, entering the treasure area, but only a few true disciples who could possibly go against this unknown creature stayed here, and one among them was also the Emperor of Death.

If he didn't come to her aid, she was afraid that she would have really died. Here, even a teleportation talisman wouldn't help. Instead of sending her out, it might even send her to the depths of the icy abyss, so unless she was truly backed to a corner with no help nearby, she was reluctant to use it.

Thinking like this, she couldn't help but raise her head and ask.

"You... why did you save me?"

Upon hearing Mystic Diviner Hailac's moved voice and shimmering white eyes, Davis's lips curled as his expression became bashful.

"That tutoring fee for divination classes... it's expensive, right?"
