Divine Emperor of Death
chapter-2646-30041322

The sealed dome-like icy barrier created by the Level Four Unfettered Ice Fiends by their sacrifice was suddenly engulfed in darkness. It wasn't ordinary darkness. Even one's senses couldn't pass through this darkness, quickly meeting with the fate of being extinguished into absence.

The multitude of Level Three and Level Four Immortal King Unfettered Ice Fiends that entered this dome to kill a lone man was frozen in place, unable to even move. Their bodies were rattled by primal fear encroaching on their senses.

They all froze without a single movement, unable to even twitch. No matter how the two Level Three Unfettered Ice Fiends struggled, they could see nothing or hear nothing. However, they only felt something cave their necks, and the next thing they knew, their consciousness was wiped out immediately.

Davis's eyes flashed with a pitch-black gleam as he swung his scythe, reaping their heads in one smooth motion. The fear rattling his prey disallowed them to even shift to other bodies, causing them to die, and thousands fell along with them.

The two Level Three Unfettered Ice Fiends wreaking havoc and overwhelming the weaker true disciples simply died just like that.

However, Davis didn't stop. The Level Four Unfettered Ice Fiends that remained frozen became his targets. He was like a fish in the sea within this deathly domain, capable of appearing anywhere with a single thought.

When he appeared and disappeared, many heads simply slid off to the ground. There were no movements, much less any noise.

Davis couldn't help but find himself in a trance. It was like he was not present anywhere. It was like he didn't exist, but when he had this thought of wanting to do something, he appeared in that location as though he was just born at that moment.

This kind of unheavenly feeling made him feel like he was not a human at all, but that didn't stop him from dwelling further into this realm, making him feel like he was beginning to step into the realm of Abstruse Intent.

Death Laws is a Greater Law. For its Abstruse Realm, it was comparable to the Quiddity Realm of Primary Laws, comprehensible by Immortal King Stage beings, but the majority of them wouldn't even be able to look at the door, much less enter through it.

At this moment, with the help of Fallen Heaven's death energy enveloping the field, Davis was gaining more insights. His Death Laws comprehension had already reached Level Eight Intent due to absorbing a bit of Death Essence Orb was nearing Level Nine Intent that he was just an inch away from it, but the most miraculous thing was that he could already see a path to the Abstruse Realm of this Greater Law which many Immortal Kings wouldn't even have gained an inkling of!

Within a few seconds, the heads of all Unfettered Ice Fiends rolled on the floor, causing Davis to come out of his trance. His gaze panned around, looking at the deathly aura vehemently sticking to everything that existed. Even ice was simply fading away.

"Hiss!~"

He simply sucked in a breath of dull, deathly air as he reabsorbed them back into his body, sending them back to Fallen Heaven, causing him to shudder in faint excitement, making him think the practical uses were extremely beneficial, but as long as the risks involved were also great that he could only use these powers in abandoned or sealed spaces such as this or risk begetting greater calamity than the one he could withstand with Fallen Heaven's power.

Davis came out of his reverie again as he removed his gaze from the icy dome and turned to look at Myria. His body still couldn't help but lightly shiver in excitement.

However, the others who witnessed his tremble took that his body was reaching its limit!

"Heh. You're almost at your limit, as expected." Nyx Godwin's lips curled as he looked to the side, "Fairy Myria, you can't give him ten percent even if he's willing to help you stop the source from imploding."

"Nyx Godwin, just because you owe me one-third of your loot, you couldn't be so petty, no?"

Nyx Godwin's expression slightly twitched upon hearing Davis's languid tone, causing him to shoot a glare at him.

"Watch your mouth. You are not aware of who you're talking to."

Davis couldn't help but chuckle, "Then tell me so I can know who you are."

"You're unworthy." Nyx Godwin's expression turned into a sneer.

"Yes, yes. A Divergent like me possibly can't compare to a rich offshoot whose only grace is showing off by using a Supreme Law poorly."

"Seems like you want a taste of it to know its worth."

"Bring it on."

Davis snickered as he beckoned Nyx Godwin with his finger, causing the latter's pupils to shrink as purple light emerged from his body, quickly surging towards Davis like tendrils.

"Enough!"

A light barrier suddenly appeared before Davis and Nyx Godwin, causing them to turn and look toward Myria.

"Leave your bickering for later. We don't have much time until the Unfettered Ice Fiends completely regroup."

Myria had her gaze straight, and her hands constantly moved as though she was drawing something in the air. They could see she had started to create the foundation for a spirit formation.

Nyx Godwin furrowed his brows, but ultimately, he didn't proceed with his attack, reabsorbing it back into his body before leaving to the nearby marked location, clearing it off variables, and guarding it. The others also did the same, moving to the other marked locations and guarding four places, but Davis remained with Myria, guarding her as she asked him to do so.

He couldn't help but smile at her beautiful visage. Ultimately, she trusted him the most out of the five of them to have her back.

Nonetheless, he panned his gaze and saw the Level Four Immortal King Unfettered Ice Fiends rushing towards them.

"They've realized what we're going to do," Davis warned in a low voice.

Myria nodded lightly, her hands hurrying and fingers dashing as though she was playing a tune, except there was no music, but Davis could see numerous lines transform into runes upon runes. Despite having a bit of knowledge of spirit formations, he had no idea what she was trying to do.

He turned to look around again and saw Nyx Godwin and Garoe Rynn being swarmed by hundreds of Level Four Immortal King Unfettered Ice Fiends. However, with their destructive energies, they were able to hold on their own but turning to look at Rea Tyriel and Black Tyriel, he saw that they were losing ground the moment they clashed with the Level Four Unfettered Ice Fiends.

"That's not good..."

Davis pursed his lips, "Young Miss Rea, call back Black Tyriel. It isn't a must that you should hold the line as Myria has yet to carve a foundation rune there for the spirit formation to activate."

"Say that in the beginning!"

Rea Tyriel's cheeks went red while her body gleamed in a lunar light as she shot back and forth, dodging the incoming attacks while killing her opponents with great difficulty.

Davis could only shrug. It seemed like the high and mighty Young Mistress of the Tyriel Family had no idea how Spirit Formations worked, allowing him to see how spoiled she was.

Nonetheless, Black Tyriel quickly abandoned his position and appeared before Rea Tyriel. The pressure on her was quickly relieved, allowing her to combine both their powers and fight with ease.

On the other hand, Davis turned to look back, his brows raising.

"Only three?"

He couldn't help but silently chuckle before shaking his head. They were utterly scared of him now that they only sent a few to watch his actions, appearing not to want to absolutely deal with him unless they had to.

After all, the only one who noticed how many levels he could truly cross was the Level Four Immortal King Stage Unfettered Ice Fiend that was still alive!

However, this was to his advantage, as he didn't have to make a move and let the Unfettered Ice Fiend know that he would not risk revealing that kind of power out in the open.
