Divine Emperor of Death

chapter-2726
Davis welcomed Eterna into his arms subconsciously while looking at Celestia become dumbfounded.
"You-!~"
Celestia's cute face churned with anger as her cheeks puffed up, her finger pointing at Eterna, "Papa, she's lying. Don't believe her."
Her petite figure flickered, leaving behind a silhouette of her purple hair before she appeared before Davis, her two tiny hands rising to catch Eterna's legs.
"Get down here~""Ah~ Papa~ Save me~"
Eterna clung onto Davis's neck as though her life depended on it, crying loudly beside his ears while Celestia looked as though she was going to cry as Davis caught her small hand.
However, she was lifted up and held over his other shoulder, causing her to look at him with her sapphire eyes that possessed an uncanny resemblance to Davis's.
Celestia sweetly grinned at him before turning to look at Eterna, who placed her finger over her eye and pulled it down, shaking her tongue at her.
"Papa~ Look at her! She's acting…!"
"Wahh!~ Save me~" Eterna hid her face behind his shoulder again, snuggling like a cornered creature as she trembled.
"…"To all this, Davis could only watch them with an amused smile on his face.
He hadn't seen his kids for a few months, but they have not only become able to speak somewhat fluently but their prowess as ordinary kids reached the level of Second Stage, something he had never imagined but considering that this was the result of their pure bloodline of the Earth Dragon and Fire Phoenix, he felt proud of himself.
"Alright, alright, stop fighting you two." He shook them in his embrace, consoling them before they both became silent, tightly clinging onto him.
Despite their antics, they appeared to be deeply fond of his embrace, closing their eyes as they took deep breaths of the fresh air as though remembering his faint fragrance.
Celestia let out a long sigh as she snuggled closer to him, resting her head on his chest while Eterna raised her head and stared at him as though he was some sort of deity, appearing to be full of curiosity and awe.
"Fufun~ Papa, I smell something weird on you." Suddenly, Eterna asked, causing Davis's expression to freeze.
'Are you a magical beast or something?' He thought, wondering how she could remember his scent.
Wasn't their cognitive ability beyond a three-year-old!?
He inwardly sighed, turning to look at Shirley and Isabella, who sat by the stairs of the courtyard as they held their cheeks with their palms and looked at them with a face full of affection.
"Shirley, our child seems to have surpassed you in playfulness?"
"This isn't even the start...." Shirley giggled while Isabella shook her head.
"All they do is play, eat, and sleep, but the way they spin us around, I wish you were there to experience this wonderful suffering with us."
"But… I'm glad you decided to pay them a visit amidst the innumerable responsibilities you hold."
"This is also my responsibility and certainly occupies one of the top spots."
Davis responded while Shirley and Isabella smiled with content. Obviously, he nor they could be with Eterna and Celestia all the time together, just like now where Shirley and Isabella were soul bodies.
"Still, aren't you two bold enough to let them practice martial arts at a very young age?"
"What are you saying? If they don't learn how to fight, when will they?"
"Look at you overprotecting them. If they don't know to protect themselves now, how can they protect themselves when they're empire-toppling beauties?"
"…"
Davis could only blink at Shirley and Isabella ganging up on him, causing him to look at the faces of his adorable children, wondering if he was overly protective, but… they were just around three years old, perhaps a bit lower from reaching four!
After all, the time they spent in the mansion and the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace always alternated, so he couldn't be sure about their age, but that wasn't the point.
"Are you two truly serious?"
He asked, causing Shirley's frown to turn into a smile, "Of course not. Do you think we tell them anything? You let them play for a while, and they end up fighting. This is like the hundredth time this happened, so we stopped separating them and let them do whatever they wanted. After a while, they'll come crying to us, and then we'll console them."
"They're naturals when it comes to swinging their fists and using their energy from their bloodline. With just a bit of clue, they grasped how to use energy from their tiny meridians." Isabella shook her head, but her voice was utterly proud.
Davis also smiled before he looked at Eterna and Celestia.
"Is that true?"
"Yes!"
"Papa, look at this!"
Celestia extended her hand, stretching her fingers as she displayed a palm. A small amount of energy flowed out of her tiny palm, manifesting into a rock.
"How amazing!"
Davis exclaimed, causing Celestia to be full of smiles while Eterna pouted, abruptly stretching her hand out and manifesting scarlet flames.
"Papa, look at this~"
"Woah, that's marvelous!"
Davis echoed along with their excitement, causing Eterna and Celestia to jump up and down in his embrace as they displayed even more tricks, becoming overjoyed to receive his praises, but inwardly, he was shocked.
Normally, even First Stage cultivators wouldn't be able to release any energy from their bodies, but these small monsters were doing it while being toddlers. He had no choice but to affix this kind of strength to their bloodline, which was extremely pure, leading them to manifest energy out of their meridians through sheer will.
He was starting to think that he shouldn't treat them the same as any other ordinary child.
Still, he was unable to bring himself to create a training regime for them this early on, so he didn't think about it and gave them all the love and affection they needed and filled in the time that he wasn't able to be together with them, spending more time than what he said to Clara.
However, Clara and Schleya didn't disturb him. Instead, they had odd smiles on their faces, watching him act foolishly once he was with his daughters. Having gotten to see him look like this, they were both amused and heartened, as this was a side that he wouldn't show to anyone else in this world other than his children.
Soon enough, he bid his children farewell as they kissed him goodbye on his cheeks together.
It melted Davis's heart, making him want to stay more, but he kissed them back and gave them to their mothers.
"Take care of them and let them play a lot. They're smart, but make sure not to let them become too naughty as Eterna is becoming manipulative, and Celestia doesn't hold back her punches. Teach them how to be good children, and as for becoming sisters, they'll work that out themselves."
"Woah, you managed to see through them already?" Shirley raised her brows.
"I'm their father, after all."
Davis chuckled, thinking that Eterna and Celestia were just like their mothers, one becoming playful while the other was earnest but easily riled up.
Their soul transmission came to an end before he turned around and left with Schleya and Clara, appearing at the center of the island.
"Now then, undergo your immortal tribulation here, Clara. Let's see how it goes for a heaven's warrior."
Davis sat on a giant tree branch as he looked at Clara standing alone at the center of a river on a patch of land that was like a tiny island. Standing beside him with her hands folded was Schleya, appearing intensely curious.
