Divine Emperor of Death
-
chapter-2754
"..."
Evelynn and the others were reveling in pure shock while witnessing this incredulous situation come to an end. They saw Mystic Diviner Hailac fall like a puppet that had its strings cut, thinking she was dead for a moment.
However, she soon started twitching, causing Davis and Myria's gaze to flicker before the latter quickly bent down.
"Teacher Hailac..."
Tia muttered in a worried tone, her eyes becoming teary as she was worried for Mystic Diviner Hailac's life.As a Mystic Diviner, she more or less knew about the aspects of the soul, so for her to be taken over at the final moment and dealt with in the end in her soul sea as the battlefield, there is a high chance that she could become a retard with her soul essence experiencing injuries or even erosion as it could be corrupted by Fraser Herrion's soul seed.
There was no telling what could happen unless investigated, causing her to look at Myria with pleading eyes.
Myria had her index finger on Mystic Diviner Hailac's forehead, her eyes shutting close as she dwelled into her soul sea. She stayed silent for an entire minute, and Mystic Diviner Hailac's trembling stopped, her closed eyes coming to a serene stop from fluttering heavily.
"She's fine. I managed to stop the erosion." Myria stood up and turned her head to look at Tia.
Tia revealed a smile of relief, appearing thankful to Myria.
"Are you sure? I sensed that he tried to use Malediction Laws on me, but my guard was too strong while his seed of influence was weak."
"I'm positive that nothing happened to Mystic Diviner Hailac, and only his remnant energy harmed her as I made sure to be precise in killing him.""Wonderful. I know you could control the situation easily. That's why I asked for your help."
Davis nodded to Myria. He knew her control over reincarnation energy was way more pronounced than his, so if it was anyone who was going to battle in Mystic Diviner Hailac's soul sea, it should be her.
"You held him at bay, fortunately. Without that, it wouldn't have been possible, but I'm curious. How were you able to tell it was him even if you just happened to know the fact that Mystic Diviner Hailac visited the Heaven Gazing Hall's headquarters in the First Haven World?"
"As I said," Davis spread his hands as though it was obvious, "If anyone is intent on driving you out, it couldn't be anyone else other than that bastard."
"That still doesn't explain it."
"It's Evelynn's inheritance master, the Empress Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid. I learned from her other hateful self that placing seeds of possession is possible using Hex Laws, so why wouldn't it be the same using Malediction Laws since they're practically from a similar source?"
Davis pursed his lips, continuing, "Actually, I think this is how he had you running around, placing seeds of influence on people you were unaware of while being able to collect information on you to tackle you anywhere, no matter where you run to until you finally descended into this world."
"..." Myria appeared to remember a few things as her eyes became murky.
"If that is the case... a few things make sense..."
She wondered how he was able to find her location without using divination, and she did indeed suspect other people of relaying information and did certainly kill or run away from them but never did she suspect that they could be controlled or influenced by Fraser Herrion himself.
There were much more powerful people for her to be worried about rather than that annoying weakling, but now that he was strong after millions of years had passed, she imagined that she had to take him more seriously than any other enemy she had faced or else face the consequences.
But thinking about that, she saw Davis turn around and leave, causing her pupils to dilate.
"What did you promise him? Mind explaining that?"
Hearing her words, everyone's heart clenched, feeling like there was a storm brewing as the atmosphere became eerily silent.
Almost all of them present couldn't believe he dared to practically confess at this moment. Ellia's jaw had dropped lightly, her expression frozen as she didn't know how to mediate things between them anymore. Even if she wanted them to walk between the lines, it practically seemed impossible now.
Davis paused his steps, turning to look around as his face remained solemn, "I meant what I meant."
"I dare you to say it to my face."
Myria challenged him in a cold tone, causing Davis to blink before he couldn't help but laugh, shaking his head.
"I don't know what you think, but I guess that it should be pretty obvious for you to see that I fell in love with you, but unlike him, I wouldn't force you but let my actions speak for themselves. I will have you before we ascend, was a solemn promise not only to that bastard but also to myself."
Myria's expression flickered as she heard his incredulous statement, and yet, for some reason, she was unable to open her mouth in retaliation, almost making her feel like she was speechless by his boldness. She saw him turn around and leave, causing her to react as she finally opened her mouth, but the words she was going to speak were suddenly stuck as she saw him grab Tanya's wrists and bring them to his face.
*Pah~* *Pah~*
Two resounding slaps echoed as palm imprints etched on Davis's face, causing many to be alarmed.
*Pah~*
Another slap fell on Davis's cheek, but Tanya finally came out of her reverie and surged with strength as she took control of her hands, causing Tanya to stop him from slapping himself using her hands.
"Husband! You can't do this!"
She struggled to hold her hands at bay as his strength was too strong, her palm inching closer to slap him regardless of her will. No, it was better to say that she couldn't muster strength when the opponent was him, leaving her weak in front of him.
"I understand... I understand what you did and why you did it... so please stop!"
Tanya begged him as she struggled against his irrational actions, causing Davis to finally stop this self-harm as he looked into her panicking eyes.
