Divine Emperor of Death

chapter-2794
Xerax was at a loss from scrutinizing his Patriarch's indifferent reaction.
However, taking a look at every other power, it seemed that they were mesmerized by this kind of power that they were either speaking in hushed voices or having a discussion through soul transmission.
It was as though…
"Pftt~ What? First time looking at yourself become less than someone else?"
The second Young Lord Candidate couldn't help but sneer, causing Xerax's expression to turn unsightly as he glared at that Young Lord Candidate. However, his eyes flashed in a sly light before he didn't deign to bother about him anymore, making the other party frown and scoffingly look away.'Really, no one wants to challenge me anymore?'
Meanwhile, Davis was oblivious to his surroundings as he had his eyes partly closed, acting as though he was truly suffering from a side-effect but was in truth, cautious of sudden assassination attempts from envious powers.
He really wasn't paying attention to what they were speaking but to their actions, leaving him knowing that something was brewing around, and it wasn't necessarily something good to him.
Nonetheless, seeing that no one challenged him, he shook his head as though waking up and turned to look at the Bloodcloud Family.
"Bloodcloud Family's Patriarch, since no one is challenging me, can I come back? I fulfilled my end of the deal, right?"
"Wait…"
The Bloodcloud Family Patriarch stopped him by raising his hand. A few moments later, a few provincial powers began to admit defeat one by one, causing Davis to be stumped as he raked in three more wins in an instant.'What the... these guys are truly wealthy enough to be buying off wins left and right...'
However, he couldn't help but glance at the Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder.
Was she truly going to become subservient to the Bloodcloud Family by just throwing away the wins he obtained for them, or was this a one-time deal where they had no choice but to uphold it?
Something didn't make sense to him.
"…"
Suddenly, the Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founders eyes fluttered at him with some strange vibes, causing his gaze to move elsewhere as he knew he was found observing her.
Nonetheless, before he could reach the fifth win, a power finally reacted and jumped onto the battle stage.
"Please go easy on me."
A Golden Crow Clan youth cupped his hands towards him, causing Davis to return the gesture and smile more than necessary. His presence made people slightly shocked as this person seemed to possess even lower cultivation than Mo Tian.
"As you can see, I am unable to attack, so I'll say the same thing to you, Erin Goldsun."
"Very well."
"Let the battle begin."
Erin Goldsun appeared excited, flying into the air and raining down golden flames on Mo Tian, covering him from head to toe, making Mo Tian a golden human torch, but those golden flames quickly receded, leaving his body and even his robes intact as it was not even able to burn marks on him.
"As expected."
Erin Goldsun sighed ever so lightly.
"Mo Tian, what do you think about my little sister?" A soul transmission fell on Davis's mind, causing him to glance slightly at Shea Goldsun.
Her robe appeared to be intricately embroidered with gold thread, depicting elaborate patterns of mythical creatures, blooming flowers, and swirling clouds.
She also wore a headdress of gold and red, adorned with jewels and intricate designs that matched her robe. Her sleeves were wide and flowing, capable of billowing in the wind like the wings of a phoenix. Her long skirt was slit up the side, revealing delicate silk pants and embroidered shoes that could peek out if she were to take a step forward toward him.
Davis could see that their gaze connected, causing her to shiver ever so lightly.
*Ssss!~*
Abruptly, Erin Goldsun launched a sneak attack at this moment.
He directly shot towards Mo Tian, smashing towards him with his fist as flames soared from soul force, exploding out into a reckoning force, plummeting Mo Tian into a blooming bed of golden flames.
However, Erin Goldsun didn't punch Mo Tian but smashed his fist into the ground, causing the both of them to be surrounded by a wall of golden flames that disabled other people from seeing them.
"Did the Golden Crow Clan Patriarch put you up to this?"
Davis turned to look at Erin Goldsun, sounding a bit solemn.
"Partly." Erin Goldsun nodded, not denying anything, "But Mo Tian, my little sister, was worried for you day and night. Look, my cultivation has soared to Level Seven Immortal Stage, but she is still at Level Four Immortal Stage. Even after I repeatedly chastised her, she simply couldn't focus on cultivation from not hearing any news about you after the events of the Void Dust Secret Realm. I, as her brother, also searched for you almost everywhere within the vicinity, looking for your traces."
"…"
Davis couldn't help but blink. He didn't remember being this close with them but hearing Erin Goldsun's words, he couldn't feel any lies either.
He lightly sighed and raised his hand, placing a hand on Erin Goldsun's shoulder.
"I understand, but unfortunately, I cannot reciprocate those feelings. Tell her to be pragmatic about it, as living with me is like entertaining death at the doorstep. Even now, I'm being haunted by these foolish powers."
Erin Goldsun smiled wryly, "I think that might change very soon..."
"Oh really?"
"In any case, I know what I'm asking is too much for a character of your caliber, but please have my sister in your mind. Her heart has already fallen for you that she probably wouldn't marry anyone else in this life, and I can't stand the sight of her being sad. Wahhh!~"
Abruptly, Erin Goldsun shouted in pain as he flew back like a meteor, breaking through the wall of golden flames and crashing into the ground. He rolled on the surface two or three times before regaining balance and standing up in front of the crowd, cupping his hand and bowing his head.
"Thank you for going easy on me. I admit defeat."
With that out of his mouth, he made no extra moves and returned to the Golden Crow Clan, leaving Davis slightly stumped in this odd situation where he could also see that the front row of each power was now occupied by exquisite beauties throwing an alluring look at him whenever his gaze passed by them.
