Divine Emperor of Death
-
chapter-2868
Panqa, Lanqua, and Shea Goldsun stood there rooted, and their expressions had become stiffer than a corpse that had dried up.
Saint Mo Tian's voice was entirely different and sharp, making their hearts chilled.
"Their activity so far has really been suspicious, not presenting the Blood Soul Contract that is agreeable, so I concur, but..."
Shirley's voice became chilling, "Just who are you? Why do you have his voice?"
"…?"Davis's brows raised. He turned to look at Shirley, who had her eyes narrowed into sharp slits, causing his expression to turn into a confused smile. However, he also saw the others make a similar expression, causing his heart to skip a beat.
"It's alright now. There's no need to keep up this farce."
He waved his sleeve while gesturing at the three women he brought, telling his women not to worry about them. However, he saw that they still stared at him with hostility brimming from their eyes while some of their expressions were pale.
"Why do you have his aura?"
"Why do we have a soul connection?"
"Just who are you!?"
"…!"Isabella, Nadia, and Shirley screamed out, causing him to be shaken.
"Ellia, what's going on here?" He quickly turned to look at the person who could be responsible for this uncanny and frightening scene.
Isabella and the others also turned to look at her, gazing at her as though expecting some answers.
Ellia possessed a serene expression on her face.
Davis also gazed at her, but seeing her empty look, his heart churned.
"No… it can't be…"
"What can't be?"
Ellia's eyes suddenly widened, her pupils emitting an eerie light while her lips curled as she grinned at him.
"What do you think happened while you were away, Emperor of Death?
Davis's gaze instantly sharpened. His Enigmatic Heart Intent encompassed the room, shocking Isabella and the others who were able to perceive his probe, causing their expressions to churn as though they realized something.
The next second, Davis sighed.
"That's enough heart attack for today. Stop playing, Ellia."
Ellia's smile receded as she pouted, "Well, they lost their memories after I applied a soul technique on them, so I can't do anything about it other than let you explain it to themselves rather than me confusing everything. Sowwy~"
"What!?"
Davis's eyes shot wide as he heard her account.
This meant that she tampered with their memories using an unknown technique, and they lost them as a side effect?
"Don't tell me it's permanent…?" Davis asked as his heart sank.
"I think so…" Ellia appeared apologetic, "It was the first time I tried the technique, so-"
"Pfft~"
Suddenly, Shirley flinched as she let out a burst of laughter before quickly stopping, but her actions were noticed by everyone, causing them to stare at her.
"Ahh~" Isabella shook her head, "Shirley went and ruined it."
"Didn't we agree that brother should find out what's going on by himself?" Clara blinked.
"This is quite… wrong." Tia spoke up timidly, "Even if we want to fool big brother in order to fool everyone else, we shouldn't go this far."
"Indeed." Shirley wryly smiled, "I couldn't keep watching anymore. Ellia, you gave it away as soon as you acted like that malicious bastard, making it stupid for us to keep acting any longer."
"True."
Ellia smiled and winked. It was as though she wanted to end this charade as well, causing the others to smilingly shake their heads.
There was a traitor among them. How could they tease him like this?
"…"
Davis was dumbfounded at this spectacle. Although he understood that they were truly acting, he was still confused.
'Just what the hell is going on? Why am I still feeling hostility from them?'
He inwardly screamed, making an expression of wanting to know the answer as he looked troubled.
Seeing him act like that, Isabella giggled as she gestured at Ellia.
"Go on. Give him the answer he requires."
Ellia nodded and walked towards him, appearing before him as she cast an expectant smile.
"My prince, I have always wondered how to be of use to you, deriving many thoughts on how I could help you improve your comprehension with your myriad set of Laws."
Suddenly, Ellia blushed, "Of course, I am willing in that… way, but that couldn't be just the way, so I thought of some ideas and was in the process of creating a technique to that end, but many things happened, and you had to leave. By the time you left, I had perfected it as much as I could but hearing your plan, I knew that I had to use it on them."
"You… created a soul technique?" Davis raised his brows, "What is it?"
Ellia's smile widened as she seemed a bit excited, "I've named it the Vital Fakesoul Projection Technique."
"Huh? Fakesoul…?"
"Yes, I used the full extent of my comprehension to create a temporary soul projection that emanates emotions similar to a real soul. I designed this technique with how your Enigmatic Heart Laws gather the emotions around you in mind, so to improve it, I felt like I must fool it first."
"Therefore, only after you can see through our true selves should you be able to improve your Enigmatic Heart Laws more, but never did I think it would end up used in this manner."
Ellia wryly smiled, not expecting to use this technique to fool other people other than its intended use which was to fool Davis so that he could improve his Enigmatic Heart Laws because he would find it difficult to garner their true emotions.
However…
"I-Impossible… to create a fake soul projection which can emulate emotions even capable of fooling the Heart Intent is..."
Davis's eyes were wide in disbelief.
He knew that creating a soul projection of one's true soul was almost impossible since it would require tampering with the soul imprint, which was taboo in soul arts.
"Yes, the use of this technique also poses a risk of soul fragmentation and instability, which can have severe consequences for the cultivator's mental and physical health, even resulting in death as I have to make a copy of their soul imprint and develop it into a temporary soul-like entity that can function as a substitute for the real soul."
"If anything goes bad during the initial stages of this technique, then the fake soul could implode and cause the real soul to collapse as they are connected by an intricate link. But it is because of this link that it allows one to control the fake soul as they please, inducing any kind of emotion, even hostility like you feel from us right now."
Ellia's smile became deep as she tapped on his chest, causing Davis to finally understand.
However, he was still in shock, unable to believe that Ellia had devised a technique that was capable of fooling Heart Intent.
He had never heard of such a technique, causing him to be truly dazed. It was only something that Life Laws could produce.
"However… my sisters were trusting enough to display their souls to me. They became vulnerable, all because they wanted to not fail you in whatever you do… so you must praise them all."
"That's not right." Shirley raised her hands and shook them greatly, "If it weren't for Ellia creating this uncanny yet wonderful technique, we wouldn't have been able to fool anyone."
"She's an extraordinary genius, as I don't understand heads or tails of this technique."
Nadia uttered, seeming a bit complacent with being able to use this technique yet not comprehending a single thing about it. However, this technique reduced her soul prowess since it went against her nature, so she didn't want to keep using it any longer.
"Not even Myria has created such a technique. Clearly, our Ellia is the true genius." Sophie also praised.
"No…" Ellia lightly blushed, "How can I compare to elder sister? She's too big of a prodigy that she could instantly come up with something like my Vital Fakesoul Projection Technique. Only, she hadn't needed to hide anything from people with Heart Intent as she would just kill them or didn't have any need to improve Heart Intent in the first place, so she didn't bother to make something like this..."
*Paah~*
"Ah~ So humble and adorable~ I want to eat her up~"
Abruptly, Mingzhi appeared out of nowhere and slapped Ellia's butt, causing her to flinch in shock before she smiled at them.
"Mingzhi, Fiora. I'm glad you're all alright."
