Divine Emperor of Death

chapter-3104
"…"
Fairy Thunderblaze had her eyes squinted at Davis as she saw him smile. Looking back at his face, she didn't know what to say as the prowess he had shown her previously, in the past two days, was simply out of this world, causing her to remain silent throughout the journey.
She knew he always had his senses locked on her, which was uncomfortable in its own way, but as long as she stayed in this group, she couldn't complain, could she?
And since she didn't do anything strange so far, he didn't talk to her either. But right now, she was indeed intrigued by what these three were going to do, causing her to open her mouth after much consideration.
"Indeed. Are you going to chase me out if I come? Or are you going to invite me by yourself?"Her innate seductive voice flowed like honey despite her keeping a straight face.
To her question, Davis shrugged, "Why should I invite you? Our relationship is purely one of benefits, so I'd like it if you stayed a few kilometers away from me."
"You're so cold to me, but you're so warm to that woman called Vereina. From what you portrayed, we both took advantage of your circumstance, wanting to take a portion of your resources, but I'm the one being vilified and not her?"
She asked with a smile behind her veil, causing Davis to drop his hands. He momentarily wondered if she also possessed Heart Intent, but he didn't think so. However, the most intriguing thing was this woman managed to find he was plundering soul essences.
"You don't need to think why I know you weren't acting cold to Vereina. The expressions of your women tell me all I need to know."
Tina and Dalila pursed their lips. They were that easy to read for this woman despite them wearing semi-transparent veils?
They couldn't help but wonder what was wrong with this woman to appear like she was scheming all the time, as they had heard how dangerous she could be from Davis. On the other hand, Davis couldn't help but silently chuckle as he looked away. She clearly knew how to read him. He already knew of this since she had taken him as a prisoner once, but he didn't chase her away because he owed her big time for saving him from Wicked Tamer Jaxon Harrow through Bloodcloud Family's Founder.
Perhaps that's how she knew he was plundering soul essences.
She made a move at the right time to save him and didn't appear earlier; thoroughly a manipulative woman to the extreme, but it was true that she had helped him, so he was half-willing to let her stay and half-willing to kick her out over the slightest offensive action, but she stayed innocent so far.
What's more, she didn't ask for a share of any resources. It was like she was a bystander in her own world, only needing information like an ancient scholar to keep a record of events.
"You want to know why I treat you differently? It's obviously because you're more calculative than any woman I've seen in this world. Perhaps I could defeat you with brute force right now, but that doesn't matter when I'm around with my women. They're prime targets for you to take advantage of in order to use me, no?"
"Oh, my~" Fairy Thunderblaze raised her hand over her mouth as though she was astonished.
"Do I look like I'm courting death to you?"
She shook her head, "Only a fool would touch your women after hearing all those threatening lines from you back then. Surely, you hold some strange technique or an artifact that would cause me to die along with you, so why would I-"
"See?" Davis interrupted her, "You're only staying your hand because you know you're no longer capable of defeating me. If such an opportunity presents itself, I'm sure you would try to take advantage, but Vereina won't do so. She's smart but also good at heart instead of thinking how to take advantage all the time like you."
"Well…" Fairy Thunderblaze titled her head slightly, "If you put it like that, then I can't deny it. I will do what I have to do in order to survive."
Davis's lips curled into a mocking smile, "Even selling yourself?"
"..."
Fairy Thunderblaze's eyes narrowed.
"The whole point of surviving as a cultivator is to live with dignity. You're a fool if you think I will go to such lengths to live."
Davis had scoffed, but seeing her demeanor and voice change, he became momentarily taken aback.
Thinking back, he had indeed thought that this woman would do anything, even steal his seeds if she had to, but it seemed like she wouldn't do certain things even if she were to die. He knew she was prideful, but not this prideful as most scheming people would do anything it took to survive.
He was also a similar case.
She gave him that same feeling but not anymore, causing him to know what to make of it other than feeling that she certainly also had a weakness that he could exploit.
Fairy Thunderblaze turned around to leave.
*Bzzzz!~*
But suddenly, black-silver lightning crackled behind her, causing her eyes to flicker as she turned around and crossed two fingers with each other in both hands, instantly creating a firestorm barrier that spun with a radiant dark crimson light.
However, she blinked as she saw that it wasn't an attack, but a spirit appeared in front of her, causing her eyes to widen as she felt her heart skip a beat.
In front of her was a celestial marvel in a radiant female form, her purple skin glistening with an otherworldly glow, adorned with spots that resemble a shimmering tapestry of starry constellations. Atop her head rests a crown of majestic proportions, coiling and twisting like celestial vines.
It bears an enchanting contrast, a fusion of darkness and silver, akin to a celestial halo woven from the fabric of the cosmos.
Her hair cascades down in waves of scintillating silver, cascading like a waterfall of moonlight. Within this ethereal mane, tiny sparks of black-silver lightning intermittently crackle and dance, infusing her presence with a mesmerizing and overbearing aura.
Her bluish-black eyes were deep pools of cosmic mysteries, reflecting the vastness of the heaven and earth. It was as though she was a vigilante from the heavens, carrying a hint of destruction with her.
At this moment, such a being possessed a wrathful expression as she looked at her with a scowl.
"You dare call my master fool? You're the fool, you dimwit woman who only relies on others to get things for you. If you want heavenly lightning, why don't you try challenging the heavens by yourself!? Instead, you dared to take advantage of my master's circumstances and stole his hard work. You stole my food! You're the fool! You're the hypocrite!"
*Bzzz!~*
Black-silver lightning raged, suddenly turning dark silvery crimson as it appeared to condense in front of her.
*Whoosh!~*
But suddenly, Davis appeared beside her and grasped her wrist."
"Calm down, Eldia."
The enraged crimson-silver lightning that was crackling with intensity around Eldia slowly subsided along with her scowling expression. She bit her lips, turning to look at Davis.
"But master… she…"
