Divine Emperor of Death

chapter-3485
"What- What is this?" Ivy Aries took a step back in caution, "I can feel my physique thirst for it."
Davis smiled.
At least, she displayed an interesting reaction to his actions, making it somewhat entertaining for him to part with the Voidslime Realm Eater's Core. He explained what this was to her and sent the jade container to her.
"You- why are you giving such a valuable item to me!?"
Ivy Aries took two more steps back, appearing to have increased her cautiousness tenfold as she wrapped her body in her arms, only to end up emphasizing her curves more. Her ears blushed, and she increasingly got cold feet, wanting to run away as she felt this was too soon. She was literally in an empty chamber right now, with only Davis standing in front of her.
"Well, at least you seem to be able to weigh your worth in front of this resource. That's good…"
Davis nodded twice, knowing that Ivy Aries had toned down her arrogance a lot since he had met her. It seemed that she had matured but still had a childish way of talking, as she was such a carefree character who didn't pay heed to stifling rules.
"…" Ivy Aries's brows twitched.
The miniature Jade Pearl Ravenous Lotus decorated on her hair like a lotus hairpin was shining at this moment, dragging the Voidslime Realm Eater's Core towards her.
However, Ivy Aries's gaze flashed as she waved her hand, causing the force to be severed and the jade container to be thrown back to Davis. The Jade Pearl Ravenous Lotus even berated her, but she paid no heed, appearing adamant.
"Won't you accept this gift of mine?"Davis raised his brows, surprised by her refusal.
"You haven't said anything about why you're giving this to me."
Ivy Aries's expression was solemn. She didn't appear to be kidding around any longer.
To her question, Davis could only wryly smile.
He couldn't possibly say that her future self did something so stupid that it moved him to be stupid. He didn't wish to let go of the Voidslime Realm Eater's Core, but if that changed Ivy Aries's path, then he didn't like such a future either.
He shook his head, "Let's just say I'm repaying someone else who has shown favor to you."
"I refuse."
Ivy Aries's voice turned cold, causing Davis to blink.
"If you're willing to help me, that's fine." Ivy Aries waved her hand, "I will gladly take it, but if it is someone else's instruction, then no. I bet Master Jade Aurora put you up to this- not… but if not… ahh~ I don't care who put you up to this, but tell them I don't need their help!"
She yelled out, appearing frustrated.
However, she couldn't tell who put him up to this as she felt like even Master Jade Aurora wouldn't be able to procure this resource for her, and neither did Natalya. Her common sense was saying the heavenly resource in front of her was worth a thousand lives to her.
That was how it made her World Devouring Water Body resonate.
It even made her confused as her physique was supposed to be water-attributed, yet it was heavily reacting to a spatial-attribute heavenly resource. Still, that didn't matter, as she wasn't willing to accept such a resource if his intentions weren't to help her of his own accord.
"Is that so?"
Davis pursed his lips, "How about this? You'll owe me a big time and will acquiesce to two of my demands without fail."
"Eh…? But fine, go ahead…"
Ivy Aries became taken aback, wondering what his demands entailed. At this point, she didn't think that it was anything related to what she was thinking, making her curious. The more she couldn't understand his thoughts, the more she wanted to pry open and see.
"Protect your Master Jade Aurora…"
"…?"
"… and protect yourself no matter what. Don't do anything foolish, such as saving some dude who won't turn to look at you."
"What… do you mean?"
Davis's voice was calm, but Ivy Aries's voice was full of confusion.
He said for her to protect her master? That was a given. He didn't even need to ask her, but to protect herself and not go after some dude who wouldn't turn to look at her?
Did he mean the person who wanted to show some favor to her?
However, she thought back to the people she had saved in the past and could only think of a few people. Even among them, she had saved a few men in the Jadedrite Sword Mini Realm while battling the bandits, but she didn't know anyone who might have enough power to influence the Emperor of Death to make him owe such a favor to her.
She almost felt like tearing her hair in frustration, not able to understand his intentions.
'Wait… why does he sound a bit angry…?' She wondered.
However, Davis didn't reply but sent the jade container to her again.
"If you reject it, then consider our relationship as allies over."
"…!"
Ivy Aries's fists clenched as she raised her hand, "You-"
She almost pointed at him but forcefully restrained herself, not understanding why he would force himself to take a loss in every aspect, as everything he did right now was advantageous to her.
While she was mulling over her choices, the jade container hit her abdomen, causing her to subconsciously hold it.
"Very good." Davis spoke with some satisfaction, "With this, we'll continue to remain allies as long as we wish for it."
"…"
Ivy Aries wanted to say something, but his figure disappeared as though it had accomplished its mission, causing her to gnash her teeth as she realized it had been a soul body.
'What is this man up to…!?'
She wanted to scream out.
Outside the mansion, on one of its slopes, Davis felt the cold chill brushing past him as he chilled on the rooftop. A complicated smile emerged on his face as he felt a bit wasteful for letting go of the Voidslime Realm Eater's Core, but he didn't care if it ultimately protected those two who went out of their way to give him a second chance in life.
'Now then… this should be a good time to answer Tia's feelings…'
After he became immersed in his thoughts for some time as he stared at the moon, he eventually thought about Tia.
After getting her family back for her, Lia Alstreim and Edgar Alstreim, Tia must be in a good mood and wouldn't want to disappoint them, so he didn't know any other better time to confront her.
