Divine Emperor of Death

chapter-3720
"Oh my~"
Zenova Artoria took a look around, her eyes widening in shock as her pupils dilated.
Her black eyes caught sight of the hundreds and thousands of ingredients available in this space. Despite the rising tensions in the small area around them, she walked forward, looking around as though she was convinced someone wouldn't attack her at all.
She walked right past Evelynn and the others, walking towards a treasure and reading its description.
[Astral Spirit Vine - Born from the essence of a spatial spirit and a Ghost Orchid Vine, it is a resource capable of absorbing the heaven and earth energy from the stars in the night sky, allowing one to temper their body many times, making it as hard and enduring as the Earth Dragon's scales.]She didn't stop there and walked past many treasures.
[Ethereal Dust Moss]
[Moonflower Mistral Thunder Herb]
[Prismatic Bloodroot Essence]
The Ethereal Dust Moss was used to create a fleshly body avatar with ninety-five percent blood essence generation, practically allowing one to make a new body even if they died.
Dewzai's heart fluttered at this treasure. Looking at Zenova Artoria approach it, her heart pounded, making her want to claim it, but since Zenova Artoria walked past it after looking at it for some time, she relaxed slightly.
As for the Moonflower Mistral Thunder Herb and the Prismatic Bloodroot Essence, the former seemed to be a treasure that improved the attack power of any lightning of yin nature at the Immortal Emperor Grade, which made it a superior treasure for female lightning spirits, and the latter was something that improved the five elements in the body.Evelynn, Isabella and Shirley didn't know much about ingredients in the Immortal Emperor Grade as their knowledge had yet to catch up to the level of their alchemy geniuses but they had learned enough of advanced basics to know that the Moonflower Mistral Thunder Herb Prismatic Bloodroot Essence was good for Eldia and Tina, so they already targeted it.
The problem was, there were too many good treasures that they may have yet to lay their eyes on and they could only take six if they wanted to participate in the Sixth Hidden Pagoda!
What's more-
"Teleported to the Ninth Hidden Pagoda?" Rea Tyriel scoffed as she sent a group soul transmission, "That sounds like a dream… if only we made it here sooner before someone cleared it…"
She looked at Shirley and rolled her eyes.
"Don't be silly." Shirley giggled at her, sending back a group soul transmission, "That's delivering you right under the noses of the Empyrean Stage Crystal Beasts. You won't be able to access the Ninth Hidden Pagoda without a significant number of Crystal Units, and if you try to get out without knowing any concealment techniques, then you'd be stomped by them."
"It's a death trap without an Escape Talisman." Dewzai nodded.
As a person still at risk of death if she couldn't recover properly, she knew all too well how this was a nearly inescapable death penalty.
And right now, all these Empyrean Stage Crystal Beasts were free to roam, and sanctuaries didn't seem to work anymore from what they heard, so it was a full-fledged death trap.
"Wonderful…"
Zenova Artoria finally voiced out, turning to look around and witnessing the banner. She blinked, understanding the rules here, before her black eyes flashed.
"How about we all take a step back and calm down, take what we need here before we move onto the Sixth Hidden Pagoda? If there is some kind of altercation regarding a treasure, we could always battle it out as the rules said we could. I'm still an Immortal King and could certainly not compare to most of you here, who are Immortal Emperors. However, we're cultivators. We don't shy from battles, after all…"
Zenova Artoria spoke confidently as though these people would listen to her words. She spread her hands, appearing like she owned this place for some reason.
"I was about to say the same thing."
Evelynn's voice echoed out at this moment, her gaze locked onto her, "Treasures first. We'll compete in the Sixth Hidden Pagoda later."
"Glad you understand~"
Zenova Artoria smirked behind her veil, "But there's only four of us from my side. How many do you think we need for the Sixth Hidden Pagoda."
"Eight inheritors…"
Evelynn answered, causing Zenova Artoria to look behind them and open her mouth, "Raigen, Southstar, and Agnirei. There's no need to make such a grim face. I know you can cut them all down with the armaments in your hands, but we still need four of them if we're going to access the Sixth Hidden Pagoda."
"That's why I'm hesitating…" Agnirei coldly uttered but her cold gaze was cast at Zenova Artoria as well.
The way the three wives of the Divine Emperor of Death were treating Zenova Artoria didn't seem particularly hostile or friendly, but she felt there was something amiss with how they didn't attack her when she walked right past them.
Perhaps it had to do with the fact that they didn't consider an Immortal King a threat, but was that the case?
She felt that one could never be too careful.
"If we only need eight, we don't need the rest, right?" Raigen chuckled.
"Nah. They'd retaliate…" Southstar smilingly shook his head before he raised his hands at Evelynn and the others, "As you can see, I'm harmless at the moment as I also want to secure at least six of these treasures before I enter the Sixth Hidden Pagoda."
He walked forward, stopping right before Rea Tyriel.
"Hello, Fairy Rea. I can't believe your destructive force is more than mine, allowing you to win the First Hidden Pagoda. Care to have a spar with me later?"
"Sure, when I become an Immortal Emperor and reach the same cultivation base, I'll take you on."
Rea Tyriel stood behind Founder Rocksunder, with both hands on her face and her middle fingers stretched to her eyes.
"…"
Southstar's brows twitched.
However, he continued to smile at her even while walking away.
Everyone could tell that a mark had been fixed on Rea Tyriel. They probably wanted to steal her reward but didn't act now due to the enormous list of treasures present here.
"This is mine…"
Dewzai first went to collect the Ethereal Dust Moss. As long as she possessed it, then recreating a new body for her wouldn't be a problem. She only needed to hire an alchemist to help her in the process or learn alchemy herself.
She stood in front of the tile and raised her hands, trying to pull the moss to herself.
At that moment, she was enveloped by a circle.
Another circle also appeared by the side, and there was a notice between the two circles.
[Stand in the other circle if you want to contend. Otherwise, this ownerless treasure will have a new owner in a minute and will belong to them until they leave the Mystical Herb Mansion.]
"Oh, so that's how this works…"
Zenova Artoria's lips curled in amusement.
She didn't move to contend the treasure Dewzai wanted and neither did the others. Instead, they even cupped their hands towards her as though indicating they'll let her have the first one.
Evelynn, Isabella, Shirley, and even the others narrowed their eyes.
Anyone with half a working brain could tell that the rules were made in a way that if they wanted all nine treasures and still wanted to enter the Sixth Hidden Pagoda, then they must contend- no, rob three treasures from others.
A battle was inevitable, yet their enemies clearly had the advantage.
"Those armaments… they're Empyrean Grade Armaments, aren't they…?"
They discussed, becoming highly wary of it. After all, they heard some people acquired Empyrean Grade Treasures after walking out of two danger zones, dubbed the Pink Waterfall Massacre and the Mad River Crossing Swamp.
They had no idea if these three walked out of these two danger zones or something else entirely, but what they could tell was that the armaments they possessed could absolutely destroy them.
"Haha… we're screwed…"
Founder Rocksunder chuckled in danger.
The others also shared the same sentiment, finding it difficult to travel ahead to pick out treasures even with the rule of no battling.
After all, it was only stated that they shouldn't battle over treasures, and nowhere did it state that they shouldn't battle for any reason. They could only rely on a wishful hope that they wouldn't try battling it out here, no matter the reason, for fear of getting teleported out.
However, was their journey as cultivators supposed to be smooth? It was unknown when two people would want the same treasure, eventually causing a battle to erupt!
