Divine Emperor of Death
chapter-3760

Clara and the others were taken inside Highnode Town without encountering even as much as a single stop to check them.

They passed through these checkpoints where every guard bowed towards them, making it straight towards the palace at the center of the town.

They crossed the street while flying, moving past single-floored or two-floored buildings before coming across more floors. They continued on until they reached the palace, which was a nine-story palace significantly taller than any structure in the town.

The external walls of the palace were colored golden-black. The golden exterior reflected the sunlight, appearing grand and luxurious compared to the other buildings in the outer region of the town, as though intentionally displaying the difference in grandeur.

The blue-armored man led them straight to this palace without checking them, or perhaps he was leading them to a trap. However, they didn't think that was the case since he was intensely humbling himself in front of Clara, occasionally looking behind and bowing down as he gestured for her to follow them for no reason.

Did this person who seemed to have immense authority here truly believe Clara was a Heaven's Warrior?

As for why, Yilla and the others could only think that using Mandate Laws was a sign of heaven's recognition, as not many could use it. However, they also knew it was possible to copy such people and learn insights of Mandate Laws from them.

However, it would never be as authoritative and compulsive as the Mandate Laws used by Heaven's Warriors as it would lack their heavenly aura, which made for a qualitative difference!

'To think Clara is still favored after her physique was tampered with by big sister…'

Yilla narrowed her eyes.

The others may be trusting of Clara, but she wasn't. No, rather than trust, it was better to say she didn't fully place her faith in Clara.

Something definitely didn't make sense for Clara to be still on their side. Her foremost question was: why hadn't the heavens punished Clara when she underwent her Immortal Emperor Tribulation?

As far as she heard, it seemed like Clara wasn't really affected; the heavens still loved her, and her immortal tribulation was said to be extremely easy. But in the end, it seemed a five-colored lightning bolt appeared and struck her.

It was usually something that was said to be of immense boon to the Heaven's Warriors. She had even seen it appear when Davis yelled out as though the Fire Phoenix Clan's Elders were helping him, basically fooling the heavens as it sent out five-colored lightning bolts to punish them and put them in a coma, but for Clara to have encountered it and remain free as though nothing happened, Yilla had all the suspicion in the world to look at her with.

However, she understood one thing.

It appeared that the heavenly aura still existed within Clara, the same as how the Divergent aura is said to come off of Divergents. She thought it wasn't real until Tia told them about this matter before they took off.

Otherwise, they wouldn't have sent Clara if she didn't give off a heavenly aura.

Clara also knew heavenly, divergent, and anarchic auras existed. They had unique wavelengths which could only be figured out by some people or things. The heavenly aura could naturally be felt by every being in the world as though it was a given.

However, divergent and anarchic auras could only be sensed by Heaven Warriors or certain resources.

Back then, she had also sensed her brother's aura after her Immortal Tribulation, thinking he wasn't burdened with such a disgusting aura as Myria possessed, but after he stopped using his death energy that masked his anarchic aura, she was able to sense his true nature which made her scared, disgusted at him and disgusted at herself for feeling that way.

She would never forget that episode in her life but little did she know it wasn't him using death energy to mask his anarchic aura but Fallen Heaven passively masked his anarchic aura.

Therefore, it would be immensely difficult to pinpoint him even if a Heaven's Warrior was present.

Nonetheless, Clara also possessed doubts as to why she hadn't received a severe backlash from the heavens in her heavenly tribulation. She had trained hard in a short amount of time and was prepared to face a grueling tribulation.

She was even happy that she would face dire straits similar to the others. However, her tribulation was trivial, ending without much of a challenge except for the five-colored lightning, which made her use some of her powers.

Still, it was easy enough that she couldn't help but wishfully wonder if sister-in-law Evelynn's methods were truly fruitful and that nothing would happen to her anymore. However, Evelynn told her not to expect much, as her treatment could break in the Immortal Emperor Stage.

It all depended on how her Transcendent Truth Eyes evolved.

Clara closed her eyes for a few seconds, feeling the heavenly energy nurture her physique as though its grace constantly blessed her. It didn't seem to have any sort of Will or intention other than improving her physique and nurturing her cultivation, as she had checked repeatedly.

Right now, she had entered the Immortal Emperor Stage but chose to remain at Level One since she had so many misgivings, not knowing what kind of changes would ensue within the Immortal Emperor Stage.

Even if she was fine in the Early Immortal Emperor Stage, it was unknown if Evelynn's treatment would last in the Mid Immortal Emperor Stage.

That's why she chose to wait for Evelynn to return before starting to increase her cultivation again, all the while choosing to store the energy in order to quickly enter Level Three Immortal Emperor Stage or even above the Mid Stage.

When Clara reopened her eyes, she was already in a hall along with the others, and they sat on a luxurious couch as though they were precious guests.

Clara's demeanor was one of complete confidence, like a ruler who was in control. Yilla also didn't seem to panic as she maintained an elegant outlook despite her sly eyes and untoward black robe.

As for the triplets, Panqa was the most panicky.

She seemed to be afraid that they would be found out, causing Zanqua to giggle and slap Panqa's sweet thighs, causing her to yelp out.

"…"

Lanqua glared at them, feeling like she should put an end to her sisters right here and right now. The past few weeks had been grueling for her as she had to take care of a spoiled sister and a bandit sister, making her eyes turn bloodshot.

Seeing this scene, Panqa and Zanqua quieted down.

Lanqua smiled ever so lightly behind her veil but didn't show any signs of amusement as she returned her gaze to the blue-armored man who still kept standing.

It seemed like he wasn't the lord of this town, although she felt that he should be the commander.

Still, Lanqua was also a bit nervous.

After all, there was one suspiciously glaring point about their group, and that was that they were all immortals and not transcendents.

They had gotten many confused looks, but with Clara's heavenly aura covering them, there wasn't much suspicion about who they were.

In fact, the armored man was also an immortal instead of a transcendent. From this, it could be seen that the countryside was still subjected to training in the immortal cultivation method.

Still, Lanqua saw that the majority of the people she had seen while coming here were transcendents.

'This isn't good… if a group of immortals appeared from nowhere, it would naturally be doubted…'

Lanqua dreaded that they would be eventually found out. Coming to this palace wasn't their plan, but Clara chose to do otherwise, as there was a fortified wall standing between them.

It wouldn't do well for them to break in, considering none of them had formation-breaking skills to bypass a High-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Detection Formations.

"Ah, sorry to keep you waiting."

At this moment, a lanky man clad in luxurious crimson robes came towards them, his footsteps fast, but he diagonally ran and plopped himself on the couch opposite to them.

Clara's eyes narrowed.

This man was actually drunk. He didn't even introduce himself, and judging by how he couldn't sober himself up, had he drunk gallons or a sip of a potent wine? She couldn't tell. For all she knew, he could be refusing to sober up, but would he do such a brazen thing in front of a Heaven's Warrior?

Even if she wasn't a real Heaven's Warrior, she was feeling offended for not being taken seriously. The pride in her bones made her want to yell at him for her insolence, but she calmed herself and opened her mouth.

"I'm sure you already know the reason why I'm here. What's the situation?"

Clara uttered a vague set of words that didn't give off anything about them but implied they were here for a mission.

Hearing this, the crimson-robed man's eyes unusually dilated before he narrowed his eyes at Clara, his gaze seemingly looking deep into her.

"Commander Dalun, who was this beauty again?"

However, his expression melted, and he looked at the blue-armored man beside him.

The blue-armored man's cheeks burned with embarrassment, but he quickly cupped his hands.

"Town Lord, Maxim Wesley, the respected person in front of us, is a genuine Heaven's Warrior. Don't you remember what Lord Elluro Coldwing publicly announced that the rulers and major powers of the Lower Realms and Minor Realms would be hunting for the man titled the Divine Emperor of Death in the upcoming days, and the Heaven's Warriors would be spread throughout the realms and that we must give our complete support in order to bring peace to the universe…!?"

The blue-armored man said righteously, but as he did so, his mannerisms were completely wild and heroic.

However, the ladies were not amused, knowing that he was reminding this drunk Town Lord of what he must do.

"Ah, you- you're right."

Town Lord Maxim Wesley smiled widely as he pointed at Commander Dalun and nodded as though he was correct.

He returned his gaze to the Heaven's Warrior and stood up.

"Respected Heaven's Warrior, we apologize if our hospitability isn't up to par. I have just lost my wife and couldn't give a fuck about the safety of the realms, so please use my town's resources as you please~"

He cupped his hand, smiling brightly before he directly fell back and collapsed, appearing to be sleeping as he began to snore loudly.

"…"

Clara and the others didn't know what to say.

Was this luck? A blessing in disguise as they appear to have gained control of this town or a prelude to some kind of calamity?
