Divine Emperor of Death
-
chapter-3894
Davis concealed himself and jumped, descending all the way until he appeared above them. He waved his hand, causing three daggers that appeared to be made up of death energy to fly out and stab them in all three of their foreheads.
They were all focused on ending Rokushi Mirai as they garnered her as a Divergent from her aura. They couldn't let her escape, no matter what. Similarly, they guessed the others who returned were dealing with the Divine Emperor of Death, unaware that they had failed.
They even thought the Divine Emperor of Death had been taken down since the annihilative aura from the heavenly tribulation was no longer felt.
But at this moment, they felt their scalps turn numb and barely dodged the daggers that flew past them.
"What!?"They finally reacted, noticing a person hovering above all of them.
"Divine Emperor of Death!"
The Heaven's Warriors reacted, their expressions turning unsightly, misunderstanding that they had been played. If the Divine Emperor of Death was here, then who was the person undergoing the tribulation near the Obsidian Citadel?
They didn't even entertain the thought that he might've escaped. That was how prepared and confident they were. However, they saw the Divine Emperor of Death release undulations at the Immortal Emperor Stage, quickly confusing them beyond compare.
What was going on? Their senses heightened, feeling something amiss for no apparent reason.
"Such evil Heaven's Warriors, bullying a female Divergent in groups…"
Davis opened his lips as he pulled back his sleeves and cupped his fists as the three deathly daggers appeared in front of them. Although his daggers failed to kill them, they certainly completed the other task he gave them. A purplish-black wisp expanded from them, turning into an authoritative judgment."Die!"
Davis extended one of his hands and pushed down on the daggers. The three daggers simply dissolved in mid-air, and the resulting invisible force struck the three Level Two Autarchs, causing them to stagger in place and fall to the ground. Like Empyrean Miller Skyrend, they fell straight to the ground and crashed, creating three huge craters.
"…"
Rokushi Mirai barely gathered her breath, but she suddenly held it, her eyes going wide in shock.
She desperately searched for the black-white stone somewhere in his grasp or clothes, but she couldn't find it, so her heart sank.
Did this man just kill three Level Three Autarchs at the same time using some unknown energy she had no idea of while he was still a Level One Immortal Emperor?
"…"
Davis was pleasantly surprised to see that Judgment Laws worked as intended. He had the dagger nick their foreheads more or less and implant the karmic seed onto them, which sprouted into the fleeting karmic sin that had gathered from them trying to kill Rokushi Mirai. They had harmed her, which meant they carried the sin of harming her.
It was his knowledge that Karma would never acknowledge Heaven's Warriors attacking Divergents as a sin, so he guessed his powers stemming from Judgment Laws were entirely based on personal relations between individuals and groups in accordance with his own viewpoint, making him the judge and the jury or even the Emperor.
Nonetheless, Davis kept his cool and waved his hand as he collected the loot before he began ascending toward the flying ship.
"Come. There's no time to tarry. Do you want to come with me, or are you leaving by yourself?" He stopped and looked back at her, asking for her opinion.
"…"
Rokushi Mirai didn't know what to say. This man was unbelievably dangerous.
Yet, she couldn't help but find herself looking up at his strange demeanor that didn't seem to consider every fight a mortal combat. He was willing to be reasonable, or should she say that he had the luxury and the sanity to be sensible in his battles or vengeance, which she was unable to do because she lacked the powers.
After all, she treated every battle like a do-or-die scenario and managed to come this far.
She was sure she offended him in every way possible as she indeed attacked with murderous intent, intending to kill him in one blow, yet he was willing to let her live?
She thought he would end her once she outlived her usefulness, just like the Heavenly Blight Hall, which constantly harassed her during her stay in one of the Heavenly Blight Hall's branches.
"So you choose to leave by yourself. Live strong."
Seeing that Rokushi Mirai didn't reply even after two seconds, Davis nodded and began to leave.
"I'll follow you."
However, Rokushi Mirai said. There wasn't any hurry or panic in her voice as she uttered and followed after him.
Davis looked back, wondering what he should do with an unpredictable character like her as he knew too little about her, but he still had a debt to settle as he promised that he would compensate her for her work here, so he nodded and took her back to the flying boat.
After the two of them got inside the flying boat, he activated it, leaving in the northern direction, and exited the edge soon enough.
He should first conceal himself within the vast space before going back, so he ventured deep into the space.
As the flying boat glided smoothly through the endless sea of space, the stars above seemed to blur into streaks of light. The vast expanse of space stretched out infinitely in every direction, silent and cold. The only sound within the flying ship was the faint hum of its engine and the steady breath of the two passengers.
Davis steered the boat with a practiced hand, guiding it deeper into the uncharted regions of space where few dared to venture. There was no realm pathway to Minor Realms, so what was left to do was to roam around in the void with occasional spatial storms erupting here and there to destroy them. The edge of the Minor Realm fell away behind them, and they were soon enveloped in the dark, serene emptiness.
He hoped to meet Saintess Lunaria's disciples again, but considering that they had left using a ridiculous spatial technique that practically seeped into the layers of space, he doubted they were still in the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Minor Realm. It was impossible to stop such a technique once activated, or they would only find themselves in the empty void.
After what felt like hours, even though it had just been an hour, Davis brought the boat to a halt and looked at a distant burning star, which appeared to be a natural disaster, yet Davis couldn't help but feel it was the dawn of a new era in his life. He reached out his hand towards the star as though trying to seize his own destiny and take control of his fate, clenching his fist firmly.
"Evelynn… everyone… I'm stronger than ever and finally have the necessary power to protect you all…"
He smashed the clenched fist on his chest, looking forward to making contact with them again.
