Earth's Greatest Magus

chapter-1980
In the galaxy far, far away, an enigmatic subterranean civilization dwelled, its existence shrouded in darkness for countless millennia. The inhabitants, born devoid of sunlight, bore skin paler than the moon's glow. In recent days, however, an ominous unrest had taken hold. Their sacred mountains, silent witnesses to centuries of subterranean life, quivered ceaselessly, unsettling the very foundation of their underworld.
As the tremors persisted, a growing restlessness swept through the subterranean residents. To compound their woes, the sacred gate, a barrier that had stood undisturbed within the mountain, shattered into pieces. The fracture in this ancient seal allowed grotesque spider creatures to spill forth, their menacing presence further intensifying the unease.
Faced with this unprecedented threat, a courageous female leader, distinguished by her striking purple hair, rallied 300 of their most formidable warriors. Armed and resolute, this formidable group assembled to investigate the disturbance and quell the encroaching spider threats.
With unwavering determination, the pale-skinned leader approached and opened the fractured gate with caution.
"This door has not been open for more than a thousand years, be careful," Her words resonated in the subterranean expanse, emphasizing the gravity of their undertaking. As the warriors stepped into the foreboding dark chamber, an onslaught of dozens of aggressive arm-size spiders immediately descended upon them, crawling with menacing speed and intent. The pale-skinned leader wasted no time, barking out commands to her warriors.
"Shield at the front!! Archer ready! Fire!!"
The warriors swiftly formed a defensive line, shields held high to fend off the charging spiders. Archers positioned themselves at a distance, drawing their bows and releasing volleys of arrows into the approaching horde. Magicians at the rear unleashed arcane spells, adding a dazzling display of magical energy to the chaotic battlefield. The clash between the warriors and the arachnid assailants erupted into a fierce symphony of clashes, hisses, and magical explosions.
The spiders proved to be far more resilient than anticipated, their armored exoskeletons providing formidable protection. The battle was intense, with each warrior fighting valiantly to push through the horde.
Despite the challenges, the warriors persevered, steadily advancing through the dark chamber. The air became thick with tension as the echoes of battle reverberated against the cavern walls.
As they pressed forward, the dark chamber expanded into a colossal main chamber, revealing an ominous atmosphere. A palpable dark energy permeated the room. At the center of attention was an altar adorned with a dark orb, its sinister glow casting an eerie light across the carved runes that surrounded it.
Sensing an unknown sight, the woman turned to an older man next to her, seeking answers."Kasim, do you know what this is?"
With furrowed brows, the elderly studied the runes and the dark orb. His eyes narrowed as he tried to decipher the ancient symbols.
"It's… a formation of something… I need to check with the old texts."
Before he could provide more insights, the chamber shook once more, sending ripples of disturbance through the air. The dark orb at the center of the altar began to pulsate with an ominous glow. The warriors, momentarily entranced by the spectacle, suddenly snapped back to attention as a spine-chilling shriek echoed from above.
Three colossal dark spiders descended from the ceiling, each adorned with silvery glowing runes that shimmered ominously. With unparalleled agility, the spiders began to shoot intricate webs, ensnaring dozens of warriors within seconds. Helpless cries echoed through the cavern as the cocooned warriors were mercilessly pulled into the shadowy recesses of the ceiling.
In the face of this overwhelming adversity, the woman conjured a silvery bow, unleashing powerful magic arrows at the spiders. At the same time, she decisively called for a retreat. The realization that they were no match for these formidable creatures compelled her to make a strategic withdrawal.
The old man, Kasim, recognized the dire situation and raised his silver staff casting a protective barrier spell to shield the woman from the impending danger. "My Queen, you need to get back!" he shouted, the urgency evident in his voice.
Despite the valiant efforts of the two, the situation continued to spiral out of control. More and more soldiers fell victim to the spiders' webbing, their struggles futile against the strength of the arachnid adversaries.
"Get back!! Get back!!"
In the concealed recesses of the cavern, unbeknownst to the queen and her beleaguered soldiers, five mysterious figures lingered in the shadows. Their forms remained obscured, and they exchanged hushed whispers among themselves, observing the unfolding chaos.
A woman's voice was heard "They won't survive this... Are we going to help them?"
The leader of the group, a male figure, acknowledged the gravity of the situation.
"I was worried about the prime directive... but they were harmed because of us…" A second passed before he decided "Let's assist them."
The words sparked excitement among the remaining three figures, and their muted expressions of eagerness were accompanied by unique sounds of approval.
"Chiiwikk!!!!" "Ku ku!"
In an instant, a humanoid plant creature emerged from the shadows. With agile movements, it threw its roots toward the harmed soldiers, creating a network of supportive tendrils that quickly pulled them to safety.
Simultaneously, another figure revealed itself – a young girl with a curved horn on either side of her head. With an ethereal grace, she took to the air, cutting through the silvery webs with a massive scythe weapon. Her movements were swift and precise, severing the spiders' hold over the trapped soldiers. As the webs fell away, the rescued fighters were left suspended in the air for a moment before gently descending to the ground.
One of the closest spiders lunged forward for a close-range attack when a massive humanoid figure emerged from the shadows. A dark-skinned orc wielding a formidable metal club intercepted the spider mid-air, sending it tumbling backward.
"CHIIWIKK!!" shouted the dark-skinned orc, expressing its victory.
Meanwhile, the last two spiders, poised to unleash their threats, found themselves disrupted by the sudden appearance of two dark fireballs. The fiery projectiles struck the spiders with force, propelling them backward and interrupting their impending attacks.
The queen, her senses overwhelmed by the unexpected arrivals and interventions, struggled to comprehend the rapidly unfolding events. Before she could grasp the situation, a wave of panic swept over her as she witnessed her soldiers, cocooned in spider silk, falling from the air. Desperation laced her voice as she cried out, "HELP THEM!"
In response to the queen's plea, a figure materialized beside her – a brown-haired man with an air of calm authority. With a simple gesture of his hand, he harnessed the forces of gravity within the chamber. As if responding to his command, the cocooned soldiers descended gently to the cavern floor, escaping the perilous fall that awaited them.
The elderly man quickly positioned himself protectively between the mysterious man and his queen. He raised his staff, readying a spell, and demanded, "Who are you?!"
With an air of calm reassurance, he said, "Don't worry. We will not harm you. Please, quickly carry your soldiers back while we finish handling these creatures."
His words echoed with a subtle power that instilled trust in the elderly man and the queen.
Acknowledging the assurance, the two promptly carried out the given task. From behind, the queen watched in amazement as the five figures displayed their extraordinary powers against the three massive spider creatures. A harmonious symphony of magical abilities unfolded, each figure contributing their unique skills to subdue the once-formidable arachnid adversaries. The spiders were restrained one by one and contained within a pocket of space.
As the last of the spiders vanished, the brown hair man approached the queen. With a polite gesture, he introduced himself, "My name is Emery. My friend and I just happened to arrive here recently. May I know what place is this?"
