Earth's Greatest Magus
-
chapter-2222
Emery was shocked to see Ronan, the Serpent Supreme, captured by Ishtar. The man had his arms chained, guarded by two magus guards as he walked casually into the room with a smile. The sight was jarring; a Supreme Magus restrained yet exuding an air of nonchalance.
Ronan looked directly at Emery and said, "My good friend… You are finally here… I have been waiting… I mean… they locked me up for five days… please tell them to release me."
Emery was speechless. The situation seemed absurd. A Supreme Magus being captured so easily was hard to believe. It was clear he had allowed himself to be captured on purpose. Emery couldn't fathom why Ronan would subject himself to this charade, nor could he understand how Ishtar could be fooled by such poor acting.
Ishtar, however, seemed entirely unfazed. Showing her superiority, she declared, "Your friend here was the one who embarrassed me that day! He will die because of you!"
Emery was completely confused by the situation, not wanting to get entangled in this mess. He spoke carefully, trying his best to clarify things. "Yes… he is indeed the one who offended you that day. You got him… you can punish him all you want… but it will not be because of me... Please don't say he died because of me."Hearing this, Ronan interjected, "My good friend… why do you say these things? I am utterly disappointed"
Emery turned to Ishtar and firmly said, "No... no... He is not my good friend."
Ishtar seemed annoyed, her eyes narrowing. "Huh! You are just trying to save him by saying that! You think I am a fool!"
Emery was left speechless. He couldn't believe the absurdity of the situation. Ronan, however, was far from amused. With a dramatic flair, he said, "It's fair that you don't treat me as a good friend… but you know we are more than that… we are family... Would you do nothing and let me die, my dear ...son-in-law?"
The room fell silent as everyone absorbed Ronan's words. Emery's jaw dropped in shock, unable to fathom the depths of Ronan's audacity.
This was no longer amusing for Emery. Ronan had in fact played a part in Silva's demise, and Emery couldn't forgive him for saying that in such a situation. He turned to Ishtar, his tone serious. "You can do whatever you want with him… but I warn you… you will regret it."
Ishtar, feeling increasingly like she was being manipulated, decisively ordered Olloi the old spirit master, "Fry his brain, turn him into an idiot!""Yes, My Lady," the old grand magus responded, his voice cold and obedient.
Emery didn't intervene. Instead, he stepped back, curious to see how Ronan would handle this dire situation. The mental attack from a three-pagoda spirit master was formidable, capable of blowing out any magus's head. Messing with Ronan's brain would be as easy as plucking a fruit from a tree.
As the attack commenced, Ronan's body began to shake violently. He screamed, "No!! Stop this!! Stop!!" His voice filled with apparent fear and desperation. Ishtar watched, smiling wickedly, satisfied with the spectacle.
Emery stayed silent, recognizing that Ronan's terrible acting wasn't fooling him. Though the Supreme Serpent had lost his real body, his supreme soul remained intact. A spirit attack was the worst possible method to harm Ronan, and Emery, having experienced the terrifying strength of the hydra soul, felt only pity for the old spirit master.
As Emery expected, a minute passed and nothing happened to Ronan. Instead, the spirit master began to suffer a backlash, sweating profusely and stammering, "You… such a powerful soul… a spirit master… no… what are… ARGHHH… STOP!!"
To see an elderly two-cosmos grand magus kneel on the ground for attacking a young, chained magus was beyond surprising. Ishtar, taken aback, quickly ordered the two magus guards surrounding Ronan to act.
However, Ronan didn't even need to break out of his chains to stop them. Two serpents emerged from his back like extra limbs, their scales shimmering with an ominous glow. With a swift and lethal strike, the serpents lunged at the guards. The first serpent wrapped around one guard's neck, its coils tightening until there was a sickening crack. The second serpent pierced another guard's chest, its fangs sinking deep and tearing through flesh and bone with ease.
Both Magus guards crumpled to the ground, their bodies lifeless and contorted in unnatural angles. Ishtar's expression shifted from anger to shock, realizing the magnitude of Ronan's power.
At that moment, the second grand magus made his move. His eyes glowed as he unleashed his battlefield domain. The air around Ronan shimmered and distorted as the grand magus manipulated the space, creating an invisible force that constricted Ronan's movements.
Dark chains, forged from pure energy, emerged and wrapped around Ronan, binding him tightly. The chains pulsed with power, severing his spirit attack and freeing the old spirit master, who stumbled back, gasping for breath.
Ronan struggled against the chains, his serpents hissing and thrashing but unable to break free. His eyes flickered with annoyance, but a smile still played on his lips. "Space magic… what a rare sight," he remarked, glancing at Emery with a knowing look. The chains tightened, cutting into his skin and drawing blood, but Ronan showed no sign of pain.
Ishtar, regaining her composure, turned to the old spirit master who had dropped to his knees. With a snarl of frustration, she delivered a powerful kick to his side. "What a useless fool!!" she spat, her voice dripping with disdain.
She then turned her attention to Emery. "I see why you are confident… you have a powerful friend indeed…" she said, her voice calmer but her eyes still blazing with anger.
Emery sighed deeply and said, "I'll say it again one more time… he is not my friend. Please note… whatever he did has nothing to do with me."
"URGGHH!! you dare to make fun of me!!" Ishtar screamed, her eyes wild with fury. She snapped her fingers at the grand magus, her voice a harsh command. "Kill him!!"
At that moment, a powerful surge of energy erupted from outside the room, causing the air to tremble and the walls to shudder. The ground beneath their feet vibrated with an almost imperceptible tremor. The domain walls broke apart with a resounding crash.
Emery took a deep sigh as Grand Magus Lilith strode into the fray, her presence dominating the room. Seeing this, Ronan's eyes lit up with a mischievous glint. "Ahhh!! Lilith!! It's you… Please come and save your dear uncle Ronan."
