Earth's Greatest Magus
-
chapter-2245
With the pirate threat now a thing of the past, life in Terra City began to flourish like never before. The citizens, once plagued by fear and uncertainty, now reveled in their newfound security. The knowledge that Terra City had been instrumental in protecting the sector brought a deep sense of satisfaction and unity among its people.
The celebration reached new heights when news spread that Magus Rosia, their beloved and respected figure, had been elected to the prestigious Golden City Council. Her appointment was a testament to the city's growing influence within the sector.
But with prestige came expectations. This meant that every aspect of the city had to evolve. With the immediate threat of the pirates eliminated, the Terra military forces shifted their focus from defense to self-improvement. The soldiers, who had once fought valiantly on the front lines, now channeled their energy into rigorous training regiments.
For the Earth Magus, the true test loomed on the horizon, closer than any of them would have liked to admit. In just four short years, they would face the Kronos factions in a duel that would determine the fate of their home. Each Earth Magus understood the gravity of the situation and made their preparations.
Thrax decided to stay in Terra City for an extended period. The recent pirate campaign had introduced him to some of the top magus in the sector. These powerful figures, impressed by Thrax's prowess and fiery spirit, had welcomed him into their circle. For Thrax, this was an opportunity too valuable to pass up. He intended to learn everything he could from these seasoned magus, absorbing their wisdom and honing his skills further. His immediate goal was clear: to break through to the Full Moon stage. Only then would he feel ready to return to the frontlines, where the real battles awaited. Chumo, however, had a different path in mind. He sought to embark on multiple Golden City missions, driven by the desire to gain experience and uncover fortuitous encounters that could enhance his abilities. But Chumo's motivations were not entirely self-serving. He was also determined to earn merit for Terra City. Emery, recognizing the potential dangers of Chumo's solo endeavors, assigned the hybrid Grand Magus Anpu to accompany him.Morgana found herself at a crossroads. She had caught the eye of Grand Magus Lilith, the Black Salamander. Lilith saw great potential in Morgana and offered to mentor her personally. The offer was generous, promising years of focused training and unparalleled growth. Yet, Morgana did not see it that way. Despite the allure of Lilith's offer, she sternly refused.
The Khaos guardian shares its thoughts. <She doesn't need a fake half-dragon to guide her when she already has me. Killgragah, the great dragon, as her mentor>
"No, I just dont want to be committed to something I dont like… I wish to go home, to see my sister... and maybe visit you at the academy sometime" said Morgana, her intention was clear.
Emery nodded, understanding her choice. Emery had never been particularly fond of Lilith, and the idea of Morgana being far away from the Khaos Gate was not something he relished. In fact, Emery had bigger plans for Morgana. With the aid of Khaos, he believed Morgana was likely the only Earth Magus with the potential to break into the Grand Magus realm within the next four years. Because of this, Emery intended to closely monitor her progress, offering guidance and support as she grew stronger.
As each of his allies became engrossed in their own preparations, Emery couldn't help but focus on the looming duel with the Kronos faction. The thought of the impending battle weighed heavily on his mind.
Emery had recently learned that Zeus had broken through to the Grand Magus realm, adding a third Grand Magus to the already formidable Kronos faction. With their access to a vast number of senior magus and Nephilim resources, Emery had to assume that the Kronos faction might soon gain yet another Grand Magus on their lineup.
Comparing the two sides, Emery felt confident that he could potentially defeat either Zeus or Perses, but Kronos himself was a different story. As a Grand Magus with proficiency in the law of time, Kronos was an opponent Emery wasn't sure he could overcome. Even if he managed to win that duel, the Earth faction still needed six victories in the ten-man duel to secure their position.Emery considered the current lineup. He, Fuxi, and Morgana were undoubtedly the strongest three in their group. Klea and Thrax followed closely behind, showing great promise. However, Emery was uncertain about Julian's current situation and was equally concerned about his senior, Fjolrin. Counting Chumo and Ashaka, they only have nine candidates.
This left Emery with the younger acolytes at the academy to consider. However, he had little faith that He Ron, or Kingrig could reach the Magus realm within four years, and even Damo, the most senior among them, might fall short of that goal.
As he reflected on the situation, Emery realized that they might have to compete with just nine participants.
Suddenly, another name surfaced in his mind.
.... Shinta The thought of her potential ignited a mix of excitement and anxiety within him. With her talent and high-ranking gene, reaching the Magus realm within four years was not beyond the realm of possibility for her. However, being a father letting her young daughter to involved in such a duel for Earth's future concerns her.
While he was deep in thought about her, an urgent warning pierced through his awareness. It came from the partial soul he had embedded within Shinta's necklace, a subtle connection that alerted him to immediate danger.
Emery quickly accessed the Khaos Gate at the academy, pinpointing Shinta's location with precision and stepping through the portal.
Fortunately, with his current abilities, Emery was confident that he could save anyone below the Magus realm. As he materialized in front of Shinta, he was relieved to find that her life could be saved. However, the sight of her terrible condition filled him with anger. He couldn't help but blame the instructors for their negligence, and one name stood out in his mind: Lucius Corvin.
Emery's frustration boiled over, and all his past grievances and anger resurfaced, He fixed his gaze on Lucius, his voice steady but laced with intensity.
"She is done with this hall, I am taking her with me." All the half-bloods acolytes observed with awe as Lucius descended into the arena and faced Emery. With a smile that barely concealed his intimidation, Lucius said, "No, you cannot."
