chapter-633
“She is a good girl, but we are from two different worlds,” Wang Yao said after thinking for a moment.
For whatever reason, Chen Ying was relieved after hearing that.
“But, what if she won’t give up?” Chen Ying asked.
She knew Su Xiaoxue, who looked soft and easy going but was actually a tough and stubborn young woman. She could tell after witnessing Su Xiaoxue being tortured yet surviving from such a horrible disease. It would be really hard to change her mind, especially since Wang Yao was someone special to her. Wang Yao had saved and changed her life. She was given a second chance. She would never forget it.
“Well, really?” Wang Yao asked“I’m pretty sure she won’t give up,” Chen Ying said.
Actually, Su Xiaoxue had started to put her thoughts into action.
“Dr. Wang, she came all the way here just for you,” Chen Ying said. “She wants to see you and spend time with you. Auntie Lian said she has changed into a completely different person since she arrived. She is like a twittering lark. Auntie Lian said she has never seen Miss Su so happy in Beijing.”
A woman would be very happy to see a loved one after being separated with him for a long time.
Wang Yao didn’t know what to say. He had never thought about that before. Normally, a man wouldn’t feel anything when a pretty and nice young woman expressed interest in him.
“I never thought anything could happen between me and her,” Wang Yao said.
“Maybe you should start to think about it now. Mr. Guo is very interested in Miss Su. He has asked his mother to propose marriage to Miss Su’s family. However, Ms. Song turned her down,” Chen Ying said.“So, Xiaoxue doesn’t like Guo Zhenghe?” Wang Yao asked.
“Of course not, she likes you,” Chen Ying said.
“And, he will not give up?” Wang Yao asked.
“People like him don’t give up easily,” Chen Ying said. “By marrying Miss Su, he will be able to use the powerful Su Family to achieve what he wants. He’s obsessed with power. Power is like a tiger. Once he rides on it, he won’t be able to get off.”
“What are you trying to tell me?” Wang Yao asked.
“If you want to continue to be friendly with Miss Su, you will have to be mindful of Guo Zhenghe. He will do his best to prevent anything from happening between you two,” Chen Ying said.
“What will he do then?” Wang Yao asked. He immediately understood the purpose of Chen Ying’s visit.
“It’s hard to say at this stage. You are in Qi Province. Guo Zhenghe’s father is the head of Qi Province. Basically, he can do whatever he wants here,” Chen Ying said.
“I see. I’ll be very careful. Thank you for reminding me,” Wang Yao said.
“You are welcome. I have to go now,” Chen Ying said.
“I need to go, too. Gotta get back to Nanshan Hill,” Wang Yao said.
He walked Chen Ying out of the clinic. They separated in the center of the village. Wang Yao went back to Nanshan Hill alone.
He kept thinking about what Chen Ying had told him. It was really a tricky thing.
Meanwhile, in one of the villages of Lianshan, one of Wang Yao’s patients was having a walk in the village.
“Feng, how are you?” A villager greeted him.
“I’m good, thank you,” Feng said.
“Your speech is getting better,” the villager said.
“And his walking,” a young man said with a smile.
“Mind your own business,” Feng said as he gave his son a hard look.
He stood up and took a few steps. His walking was getting better, although his gait was still impaired.
“I feel the pills worked,” Feng said.
“That’s good. We’ll go to that clinic again for acupuncture and buy another seven pills,” his son said.
A day passed. It had started to get dark. It was quiet on Nanshan Hill. The two lines of trees Wang Yao had just planted were growing very well.
I can start to grow some trees at the east side.
He called Li Shiyu the next morning to order the same type of trees. He didn’t order a lot of trees this time.
“See? I told you we didn’t need to come here so early,” a young man said.
A family came to Wang Yao’s clinic by car early in the morning. They waited outside the clinic. It was the stroke patient and his family who had come to see Wang Yao the day before.
“Stop complaining. Let me warn you now, don’t talk too much in front of the doctor,” the woman said.
“I know, don’t worry, Mom,” the young man said.
They waited for about 20 minutes before seeing Wang Yao coming from Nanshan Hill.
“He was on the hill?” the young man asked.
“Sorry to keep you guys waiting,” Wang Yao said.
“That’s fine, Dr. Wang,” the woman said.
“Has he taken the pills?” Wang Yao asked.
“Yes, he’s taken all the three pills,” the woman said
“How are you feeling?” Wang Yao asked.
“I feel less heavy, and my leg is stronger. Look at my face! It’s also getting better,” the patient said with a smile, showing his yellow teeth.
His facial paralysis had disappeared. He could laugh, cry, and chew food, unlike before when he could only have pureed food and couldn’t speak properly. He was happy with every tiny bit of improvement he made. It only took him three days to recover from facial paralysis. He was full of hope now. This morning, he couldn’t wait to ask his wife and son to take him to see Wang Yao. He believed he would fully recover if he continued to have treatment.
“Take a seat. Let me take a look at you,” Wang Yao said.
After reviewing the patient, Wang Yao started the treatment session. He gave him an acupuncture treatment first. He inserted needles into his head, trunk, and four limbs. The acupuncture session lasted for nearly two hours.
Afterward, he gave the patient a massage. It was lunchtime by the time he finished the massage session.
“OK, done,” Wang Yao said.
“I feel so comfortable,” said the patient, who had a warm feeling all over his body. It was as if he had just been to the hot springs. “Dr. Wang, do you still have the pills you gave me last time?”
“Yes,” Wang Yao said.
“I want to buy a few more. How many more do you think I should take?” the patient asked.
“One course of treatment is normally 10 days. You’ve taken three pills, so you just need seven more,” Wang Yao said.
“OK, I’ll buy another seven,” the patient said.
They paid Wang Yao without hesitation this time.
“Well, Dr. Wang, can I ask which university you graduated from?” asked the young man, who had kept silent since he walked into the clinic.
Wang Yao told him the university he graduated from.
“You are a traditional Chinese medical practitioner. I didn’t know their traditional Chinese medicine course was so good,” the young man said.
“I’m actually a traditional Chinese pharmacist. I didn’t learn medicine in that university. I did biology in the university,” Wang Yao said.
“What?” the young man asked with surprise.
“Just ignore him, Dr. Wang. We have to go. Thank you,” the young man’s mother said.
“You are welcome, see you later,” Wang Yao said.
“I asked you to study hard, but you never listened. So, you couldn’t get a good job. Look at Dr. Wang, who graduated from a good university and became an extraordinary doctor,” the woman said.
“Mom, didn’t you hear what he said? He did biology in the university. I don’t think he’s got a fantastic career. If he was really capable, he wouldn’t stay in this small village,” the son said.
“I think you just don’t want to accept he’s smarter than you. You always have different excuses,” the woman said.
“Well, Mom, I need to focus on driving now. Don’t distract me. I don’t want to end up in an accident,” her son said.
“Stop talking nonsense,” his mother said.
Wang Yao only had one patient in the morning since the treatment was time consuming.
Earlier in the day, when it was dawn, Zheng Weijun just woke up in Sun Yunsheng’s house. He was staring at the light above him.
What is it? Light?
He shivered and blinked. He couldn’t believe what he saw. The light looked beautiful. He had never thought a light could be that attractive.
He looked around. Paintings were hanging on the wall. He looked at the curtains and furniture in the room.
“Haha!” His laughter sounded a bit crazy.
Bang! The door was pushed open. Zheng Shixiong and Mr. Wu ran into the room and looked at Zheng Weijun with concern. Zheng Weijun was laughing in tears.
“Weijun, what’s wrong with you?” Zheng Shixiong asked.
“Uncle, I can see,” Zheng Weijun said.
“What?” Zheng Shixiong asked with confusion. Mr. Wu was also confused.
“I can see everything,” Zheng Weijun said. “I really can!”
“Wait, Weijun. How many fingers do you see?” Mr. Wu lifted two fingers.
“Two,” Zheng Weijun said.
“How about this?” Mr. Wu asked.
“A fist,” Zheng Weijun said. “I can see now!”
“Good! This is great!” Zheng Shixiong was too excited to say anything.
“The medication from Dr. Wang is really amazing.” Mr. Wu said.
It only took three drops within one day to enable Zheng Weijun to see things around him.
“Give him a few more drops,” Zheng Shixiong suggested.
“Yeah, of course,” Mr. Wu said.
He applied three eye drops into Zheng Weijun’s eyes. Zheng Weijun suddenly felt really comfortable and cool in his eyes.
