chapter-776
The next day, Wang Yao was thinking about the next step to take in the hotel. He had received news from Jia Zizai that confirmed Chairman Zhang Wei was fine. The person who had died in the explosion was not Zhang Wei. Instead, it was his double. Now, Zhang Wei was hiding in an unknown corner of Dao, preparing to find out who was behind the situation and planning how to handle it.
A double! How interesting! The chairman’s thinking is complicated. No wonder Jia Zizai and Hu Mei are afraid of him.
Wang Yao decided to stay for two more days. If there was still no progress, he would return home.
That night, it rained in Dao. A typhoon was approaching, creating a tumultuous sea.
“What a wind!”Wang Yao walked out of the hotel with an umbrella over his head. He hired a taxi to take him to the seaside. Upon arriving, the waves roared as they crashed against the reef.
“Hey, don’t stay at the seaside for too long at a time like this,” the taxi driver said. “The typhoon is coming. The sea wind is strong, and the waves are high and dangerous.”
“I see. Thank you.” Wang Yao smiled and waved. “A big wind is good!”
The driver sighed and thought, What is this young man doing by the sea at this time?
People who lived close to the sea knew that when a typhoon was forming, it would be windy and stormy on land. Few people would go to the seaside. They would just stay home.
Wang Yao stood by the sea, quietly watching the peak of the waves. Normally, there would be ships going out to sea braving the winds and waves. Now, there were no ships visible.
Wang Yao began searching around the reef. He had never experienced such extreme weather, so he wanted to take advantage of the situation. He found a tree, which had been blown down by a strong wind, about 11 inches in diameter. He grabbed the tree with one hand and pulled it up.
“I’m sorry, I’m going to borrow half your body,” Wang Yao said to the tree.
He held his palms together like a knife and cut down. With a crack, the tree was cut off at the trunk. It was extremely fragile.
With a few whooshes, the branches on the trunk were also cut off. His speed was extremely fast. In a short time, the entire tree was bare.
The driver on the side of the road could barely see the man working busily by the sea through the storm. He thought, Ah, what is that man doing? Hurry up and leave! It’s such a huge storm.
With great strength, Wang Yao threw the tree trunk into the sea. He flew up and landed on the log. The waves roiled, lifting the log toward the shore. He waved his hand strongly in the opposite direction. His feet firmly gripped the wood under his feet. The log began to move toward the sea. His hands were constantly drumming back and forth. The log was moving faster and faster, breaking through the wind and waves and rushing toward the sea.
Wang Yao’s surroundings were gales, storms, and huge waves. Glancing ahead, there was a vast expanse of nothingness. He was getting farther and farther away from the coast behind.
He was not afraid. He grew even bolder. This was the real world.
The sunny, picturesque mountains and rivers were the real world. The forceful gales, towering waves, roiling storms, and crashing thunder were also the real world.
Wang Yao threw his head up and laughed. Normally, he would never act in this way since there were typically too many people by the seaside. It would be too unbelievable for others to witness man stepping on a log and going out to sea. Once they saw that his clothes and shoes didn’t touch the water, he would look like a deity coming to Earth, comparable to the legend of Damo crossing the river with a reed.
Standing on the log, Wang Yao galloped freely in the storm and began to practice Qi boxing. His body’s aura was vigorous and powerful. He did not hold back when striking each fist out. His punches broke through the air and waves.
Meanwhile, a man was standing in the wind and rain on a hillock in Dao. Another man approached and said, “It’s so stormy. Why are you here?”
“It’s because of the heavy wind and rain that I came here,” the first man said. “Those people are observing very closely during the day!”
“What about Li Fang’s side?” the other man asked.
“He is more honest and rarely contacts those people,” the first man said. “He’s mainly with his son.”
“Listen to him,” the first man said. “He must have some ideas.”
“Yes,” the other man replied.
“It’ll be sunny after the wind and waves,” the first man said.
In the sea, Wang Yao, who had been riding the waves for a long time, urged the log under his feet to go toward the shore.
Now, he was not the only one on the beach. Two people had come to watch the wind and waves.
“Is there a man there?” one of the men asked.
“What man?” the other man asked.
“Look there!” The first man pointed toward the sea.
“Ah, a man is standing on the sea!” the second man exclaimed. “How awesome! How did he do it?”
The two men, who were wearing ponchos, decided to get a closer look. They braved the heavy rain, went against the wind, and walked toward the sea. When they arrived at the seaside, they only saw a log floating with the waves.
“Where’s the man?” the first man asked.
“He couldn’t have just stood on this wood just now, right?” The other man stared at the log. “No way. How could someone stand on it?”
Wang Yao was already on the way to the hotel.
Jia Zizai had been calling Wang Yao but didn’t get a response. When he finally got through, he asked him to meet him.
“Are you going to see him at this time?” Hu Mei asked.
“This is the right time to go. The storm will last for a while.” Jia Zizai looked out at the wind and rain.
“I guess go early and return early,” she replied.
“Alright, got it,” Jia Zizai said.
He left the house with an umbrella.
At the hotel, Wang Yao asked, “What’s the matter?”
He had a pleasant smile on his face. His recent indulgence on the sea had been refreshing and enhanced his mood.
Jia Zizai told Wang Yao some of his thoughts.
“Is Li Fang also a director?” Wang Yao asked.
“Yes, it seems that he is highly trusted by the chairman,” Jia Zizai said.
“It seems?” Wang Yao asked.
“The chairman is very defensive toward everyone,” Jia Zizai replied. “To be honest, I don’t know if he has any real trust in anyone.”
“What illness does his son have?” Wang Yao asked.
“His lungs are rotten,” Jia Zizai said.
“Rotten?” Wang Yao was slightly shocked. “How is he still alive?”
“It wasn’t all rotten,” Jia Zizai said. “He found a skilled master and got a strange medicine, which helped keep him alive.”
“What kind of skilled master?” Wang Yao asked.
