Chapter 784: Queuing Up Early in the Morning

Wang Yao only finished brewing one decoction. However, it was a good achievement given the equipment he had.

“One should be enough,” he said.

The decoction played a key role in resolving the toxin. It would completely remove the toxin from the body.

He saw Li Fang and his son again in the afternoon. Wang Yao gave the decoction to Li Fang and said, “Take the decoction once a day, in the morning, for seven days.”

“OK, thanks,” Li Fang said.

“He will probably vomit and have diarrhea, which are ways for him to move the toxins out of his body,” Wang Yao said. “Don’t worry too much. I’ll prescribe you another to improve his fundamental health. You can brew it yourself.

“Great, thank you so much,” Li Fang said.

“Help him to take the decoction now, and I’ll take a look at him afterward,” Wang Yao said.

Li Fang helped his son take a small cup of decoction. The child’s facial expression quickly changed.

“Are you OK?” Li Fang asked.

“My tummy aches,” the child said as he pointed at his stomach.

“Wait a second.” Wang Yao took out two silver needles and inserted them into the child’s stomach area. The child immediately relaxed.

The decoction had just started to work. It would kill the toxic worms, resolve the toxins, and expel the toxins out of the child’s body.

About 30 minutes later, the child went to the bathroom. He passed out a large amount of dark-brown fluid. The whole bathroom smelled awful. The smell even went into the living room. Li Fang couldn’t tolerate it, so he opened the window.

“He is in the stage of expelling the toxins out of his body,” Wang Yao said.

He waited for another hour to make sure the child was fine before leaving.

“Xiao Ming, how are you feeling?” Li Fang gently asked.

“I feel weak,” the boy softly said.

He had been weak and in a critical condition for some time. He had spent almost all the energy he had left on expelling the toxins out of his body. Fortunately, Wang Yao added a small amount of mountain essence into the decoction to improve his fundamental health. That small amount worked gently, unlike ginseng.

“Have a nap,” Li Fang said. “You’ll feel better when you wake up.”

“OK.” The boy closed his eyes.

Li Fang and Jia Zizai gently closed the door of the bedroom and went to the living room.

“You don’t need these for now,” Jia Zizai said as he looked at the expensive imported medication Li Fang had purchased for his son.

“OK, but I will need the medication if the decoction doesn’t work,” Li Fang said. He still didn’t completely trust Wang Yao.

“You’ll see him getting better in three days,” Jia Zizai said.

He understood Li Fang was worried about his son, but the outcome would give him peace of mind.

“You seem to believe in whatever he does,” Li Fang said. “You are not normally like this.”

He found that Jia Zizai trusted and respected Wang Yao very much. This surprised him. Given what they did for a living, it was hard to trust or respect anyone.

“He’s very capable,” Jia Zizai said.

Wang Yao prepared several formulas of consolidation soup. He put the herbs together instead of brewing decoctions and went to meet Li Fang at the hotel he was staying at.

“This is a different formula,” Wang Yao said. “I’ve written down the method of brewing the decoction. You can do it yourself. These herbs are enough for your son to take for seven days. Call me if you have any questions. And, stop giving him those imported medications.”

“Thank you,” Li Fang said.

He was going to pay the fee, but Wang Yao said, “You can pay me in seven days.”

Wang Yao returned to the village the next morning.

Zhong Liuchuan came to Wang Yao’s clinic as soon as he knew Wang Yao was back. “Dr. Wang, many people came to look for you when you were away.”

“Were they all patients?” Wang Yao asked.

“Yes, especially on one particular day,” Zhong Liuchuan said. “I wasn’t sure why, but cars were parked everywhere outside your clinic.”

He remembered that day clearly. He noticed a car parking outside Wang Yao’s clinic that morning when he was doing morning exercise. A man brought his child to see Wang Yao. Zhong Liuchuan explained to the man hat Wang Yao was away, but the person still wanted to wait. Zhong Liuchuan went off to continue with his morning exercise and came back to the clinic a little later. The person and his child hadn’t left, and more people were waiting outside the clinic. Zhong Liuchuan didn’t leave because he was concerned that some visitors might not have good intentions. More and more people came along later that day. The cars formed a big queue. Most of the people came with their children.

“Children?” Wang Yao asked.

“Yes, most people brought their kids to see you,” Zhong Liuchuan said. “I heard those kids coughing badly. They said your decoctions are very effective in treating coughs.”

“Really?’ Wang Yao was a bit surprised.

It seemed that those people came via word of mouth that the decoction he brewed to treat coughs was very effective.

“Did anything else happen?” Wang Yao asked.

“Nothing else,” Zhong Liuchuan said.

“Good,” Wang Yao said with a smile. “Thank you.”

“You are most welcome,” Zhong Liuchuan said.

“I’m not going to see any patients today,” Wang Yao said. “I’m going back to Nanshan Hill.”

“OK, see you later.” Zhong Liuchuan returned to his cottage.

Wang Yao walked alone toward Nanshan Hill. The weather was nice and cool. He enjoyed this time of year. Autumn was his favorite season.

Woof! Woof! San Xian ran toward him after he heard Wang Yao’s footsteps. The dog immediately came in front of him and wagged his tail, excitedly licking Wang Yao’s hands.

“San Xian, you put on weight again.” He patted San Xian’s big head with a smile.

Woof! Woof!

Wang Yao laughed and said, “Let’s go.”

He walked around Xishan, Dongshan, and Nanshan hills. At last, he arrived at the top of Nanshan Hill.

“Ah!” Wang Yao took a deep breath and roared, “Nothing compares to home!”

He decided to see patients in his clinic the next day. He logged into his Weibo after dinner and found a lot of messages:

[Dr. Wang, when will you come back? My son has been coughing for over a week. We want to take him to your clinic.]

[My child has the same symptoms.]

[My kid has been in the county hospital for a week. He is not better. I also want to bring him to your clinic.]

There were a lot of messages like those. He thought, Hmm, it seems a lot of kids are suffering from coughing at the moment.

Wang Yao had immediate responses after updating his Weibo to notify people that he would be in the clinic the next day. He decided to prepare more cough syrup for children. He brewed some cough syrup in the evening and placed it into several small bottles.

It was nice and sunny the next morning. Eight cars were waiting outside the clinic, and it was only a little after 7 a.m.

“So many cars came here again,” a villager who passed the clinic said.

“Fenghua’s son probably has come back,” another villager said.

Wang Yao left Nanshan Hill earlier than usual. He was surprised to see so many people waiting for him. He thought, They are so early!

He quickly opened the clinic and started to see patients.

“Good morning, Dr. Wang, you are finally back,” a woman with her child said. “It is my third time to come here,”

“You need to check my Weibo before you come,” Wang Yao said. “I will notify people on my Weibo if I’m away. I don’t want to waste your time.”

“Sure,” the woman replied. “Can you take a look at my son? He’s been coughing badly, a wet cough. The doctor in the hospital did blood tests and an X-ray. He said he has a chest infection. They gave him injections and ventilation, but he is still coughing. He couldn’t sleep and eat well either.”

“Let me take a look,” Wang Yao said.

Her son was 7. He had been coughing since he entered the room. He looked terrible and wheezed when he was breathing. It was as if something was blocking his throat and lungs.

“Can you please pass me the bowl?” Wang Yao asked the woman.

He pressed several acupoints on the child’s back.

Ahem! Ahem! The child suddenly started to fiercely cough and spat out a large mouthful of yellow sputum. His breathing became much smoother.

“He does have a chest infection,” Wang Yao said.
