Chapter 506: A Saint’s Invitation
“Baidu and Sogou? What?”
The True Habitant of Tai Yi asked while fiddling his beard, only for the ever earnest the True Habitant of Yu Ding to suddenly slap him on the head, barking, “Who cares? That’s not the point!”
Still, the True Habitant of Tai Yi had simply not heard about trending terms such as Baidu or Sogou and only asked in curiosity. His eyes bulging as he watched Jiang He’s face, he tried his best to look for any signs that Jiang He was lying.
Likewise, Potion Dust and the other pellet refinists were shocked. Two years, and he cultivated up to full-fledged Grand Luo?
Was that even possible?
Moreover, Jiang He knew how to refine pellets, not to mention that his methods have neither been seen nor heard of before. Refining rank-seven immortal pellets were as simple as eating or drinking for him, which was enough evidence for how accomplished he was in refining pellets.
A normal human without mentor or any instruction, becoming Grand Luo in two years and equipped with such incredible pellet refinement technique… was that possible?
The reincarnation of a superior being?
Nonsense!
Others aside, Potion Dust alone was convinced that no superior being among all the world was capable of that pellet refinement technique. Moreover, aside from pellets, he had heard that Jiang He knew how to cast arrays and refine items…
All the Chan Sect immortals had merely snorted at that piece of information before—after all, were there any cultivators who could not cast arrays or refine items?
Nonetheless, Potion Dust now asked with a hoarse, shaky voice and asked, “Brother Jiang He, aside from pellets, I heard that you know how to refine items as well?”
“Just a little.”
“What about arrays?”
“Just a little, too.”
Jiang He answered humbly. “Like I said, I’m an untitled cultivator without a mentoring school or instructions by seniors, which is why I had learned everything on my own. Likewise, because I did not have any mystic treasures or immortal items that suit me, I created an item refinement method on my own.”
“Back when I first learned immortal arts, I had accidentally offended some of the immortal sects and demonic sects hidden in our honeworld. Worried that they would try to destroy my house when I’m away, I created an array too.”
Potion Dust breathed a sigh of relief at that.
It was fortunate that Jiang He’s arrays and item refinement method might be very trash, or it would be murder if he was as good as he was in both those things as he was in pellet refinement.
Self-made item refinement method?
Self-made arrays?
In cultivation, cultivators meditated upon the world and Dao. It was certainly possible for a cultivator to develop some low-class array or item refinement method even if they had not actually studied it.
However, even before he could make up his mind, the True Habitant of Yu Ding asked with a shaking voice as well, “I heard that you created your own pellet refinement method as well? I wonder how your array or item refinement methods compare to that?”
“It would be far lacking!”
Jiang He replied without thinking. “I could at best strengthen a mediocre-grade acquired soul treasure into a superior-grade acquired soul treasure, and the strongest mystic treasure I could refine is merely mediocre-grade acquired soul treasure as well… at the very least, I can’t refine premium-grade acquired soul treasures for now.”
“My arrays technique is even more rubbish. I was merely a Yuan Spirit when I first developed the technique, and because I was not thinking ahead, I only thought about sealing array, death array, guard array, and illusory array, but the only bright side is that I could combine all four as one.”
The scene turned silent as well, and the many Chan Sect immortals were gaping.
There was a faint smile on Wang Hou’s face. He calmly watched the scene unfold, feeling irrepressible amusement…
These Chan Sect immortals were all bumpkins.
All this stuff is merely the basics for Jiang He. Do you have to be that shocked?
After a long while, the True Habitant of Tai Yi, the True Habitant of Yu Ding, Potion Dust, and his fellow pellet refinists all finally calmed their stirred emotions, though they appear weirded out even as they looked at Jiang He…
A Grand Luo?
After cultivating two years?
An enigmatic master pellet refinist?
Mastery over arrays and item refinement?
Was this person even human?
These Chan Sect immortals were not even aware that Jiang He had developed the Martial Scripture and had founded a new system for martial arts, or they would be blowing up right there and then.
Indeed, the atmosphere in the courtyard was already a little weird.
Everyone was exchanging glances only, and no one was talking.
That was when Boa Hancock arrived with a pot of Tea of Enlightenment, while Jiang He flipped his hand to take out a tea set he had made himself, smiling as he served the Chan Sect immortals tea. “Brothers, why stand there?”
“Sit, please sit.”
The Chan Sect immortals hence all took their seats, only for Jiang He to add, “Why space out, everyone? Come, come, have a taste of the tea I’d personally grown.”
The True Habitant of Tai Yi lifted his tea cup and smelled the tea aroma that waved at him, and said courteously, “It has been ten thousand years since I’ve had a taste of tea from the homeworld. Today is such a blessing… eh?”
He had a sip between his words, and could not help feeling his face fall.
He promptly looked up at Jiang He and exclaimed in shock, “Brother Jiang He… this tea….”
“What?”
Surprised, Jiang He had a few sips of the tea, smacked his lips and said, “Well, this tea is indeed problematic since the tea I’ve drunk before is always brewed with Origin Fluid from a high-ranked daemon plant in Mount Helan, while I am now using the Origin Fluid from a Heavenly Immortal plant I’d killed by coincidence… it was originally a flower, and although its Origin Fluid was very high-ranked, it is not as fragrant as the elm tree of Mount Helan.”
He then raised the teapot, and…
Splash.
All the tea was poured down on the floor.
Calling Boa to him again, Jiang He instructed, “Brew another pot of tea. Remember to use Origin Fluid from the elm tree of Mount Helan.”
The True Habitant of Tai Yi’s eyes bulged as he watched.
He stared at the tea dumped on the floor, which soon seeped beneath ground, leaving just a few tea leaves on the ground.
Reaching out to pull some of the leaves, he put it in his mouth to taste it and muttered, “The Old Tea of Enlightenment, it really is the Old Tea of Enlightenment…”
“What?”
Potion Dust was stunned. The tea in his cup was still there, so he quickly took a sip. Feeling the unique Dao that swirled once the tea went down his stomach, he exclaimed in shock, “It really is the Old Tea of Enlightenment. I once read about it from an old scroll, and the aroma in the tea contains a special Dao… in fact, once I drank this, I felt a greater affinity towards Dao.”
The other pellet refinists hence all started drinking the tea with a look of shock and enjoyment.
The True Habitant of Yu Ding was only half-convinced, but confirmed it after raising his cup for a sip. “It is indeed the Old Tea of Enlightenment… our master had once returned with some of these tea leaves after his journey into an alternate dimension deep in the celestial battlefield, and I’ve had the privilege of drinking it a few times… Brother Jiang He, you’re saying that you planted this tea?”
All of them turned toward Jiang He.
Jiang He hence cooked up a random excuse, “Plants and animals all mutated after the Revival of Qi in the homeworld. Plant life has been evolving and metamorphosing by leaps and bounds especially in old forests, and the tea tree in my house was one such tea tree replanted from an old forest. I have no idea as for why it has become the Old Tea Tree of Enlightenment.”
I’ve already offered a reason, as for whether any of you believe it…
Who cares.
Another pot of Old Tea of Enlightenment was served, and everyone started drinking to recover their shaken Daoist hearts. Then, after more small talk, Potion Dust suddenly rose to his feet and bowed at Jiang He, saying respectfully, “To tell the truth, Brother Jiang He, this old man has come despite the embarrassment, intending to ask you to instruct us in your pellet refinement method.”
The other pellet refinists all stood up as well, and looked at Jiang He with tearful eyes.
Jiang He’s own heard was pounding!
Teaching them pellet refinement?
I don’t know the stuff at all since I’ve simply made that stuff up!
Still, remembering that he had refined the Body Honing Pellets in public, the pellet refinists would never believe him even if he told them that he did not know pellet refinement. They might even misunderstand that he was trying to keep his methods secret, and therefore…
Jiang He hence braced himself and smiled, saying, “I have nothing to teach you since we are all pellet refinists here, though we could discuss our different methods…”
“That would be great!”
That was when laughter could be heard.
An elder with an immortal’s aura and a Daoist’s bones strode into the yard. He was not huge and his laugher sounded as mild as the gramps from next door, and he smiled as he watched Jiang He. “I myself know a thing or two about pellet refinement, Brother Jiang He, and I am curious about your unbelievable pellet refinement method as well.”
He walked toward him, saying, “May my fellow disciples and myself exchange notes with you, Brother Jiang He?”
Jiang He frowned and was about to ask who the man is, when he found the True Habitant of Tai Yi, the True Habitant of Yu Ding, Potion Dust, and the other Chan Sect immortals all approaching that man and greeting him as ‘Senior Brother’ or ‘Martial Uncle’.
“Senior Brother?”
“Could it be Guang Chengzi… wait, that’s not it!”
Jiang He cried out in surprise when he came to a realization. “Could you be the legendary emperor who had grown up in the south pole and is the senior brother of the Chan Sect… the Immortal Hermit of the South Pole?”
“It is indeed I.”
Both the Immortal Hermit of the South Pole and Jiang He exchanged greetings and then glanced at Potion Dust and the others, saying, “However, exchanging notes could wait… my master awaits you, Brother Jiang He.”
Master?
Jiang He appeared stunned.
The master of the Immortal Hermit of the South Pole was naturally the Primeval Lord of Heaven.
And that Saint was asking for him?
Still, it was a great coincidence since he had wanted to ask a Saint to make him an array that accelerates time, where he could dump Dumbo and the others in so that they could cultivate the divinity of Overdeities. As such, he promptly smiled and said, “Do lead the way, Brother Immortal Hermit of the South Pole. I have something I would need Senior Primeval Lord of Heaven’s help with.”
“…”
The Chan Sect immortals were stunned at those words.
Wang Hou staggered, almost astonished by what Jiang He had said.
Senior Primeval?
Is Jiang He not being too much? Why did he not say Brother Primeval instead?!
