Yue Tingfeng looked at Yan Qingsi in surprise. This woman was actually pretty nice to other people, when would she be nice to him too?

“No, I should be the one thanking you. If it wasn’t for you, I would have never been able to avenge my sister. Whatever I did, I did voluntarily, nobody forced me to do anything. Besides, I’m alright now, the doctor said I was lucky I was sent here in time. If I recover well, my fertility won’t be affected.” Tang Yuyao reassured Yan Qingsi.

She was actually surprised to see Yan Qingsi visit her in the ward—a little touched as well. They barely knew each other and have rarely met one another. They hardly even considered each other friends, merely allies with a common enemy.

Tang Yuyao knew that if it was not for Yan Qingsi, she would never have found out who was behind her sister’s death and she could never have avenged her. Heck, she would not even have known if her sister was dead or alive. She would have wasted her life away aimlessly if not for Yan Qingsi—for that, she was eternally grateful to her.

Tang Yuyao’s gratitude actually made Yan Qingsi feel guilty inside because she never actually planned on helping her in the first place. She only wanted to use Tang Yuyao as a tool for her own revenge.

“I’m really sorry… I…”

Tang Yuyao cut off Yan Qingsi yet again and said, “You really don’t need to apologize, I feel great. Plus, thank you for what you did on the Internet, thank you for helping me hide the fact that I’m a mistress. It really saved me from a lot of criticism.”

When she was first admitted to the hospital, everybody thought she was the mistress and were openly talking behind her back. However, after the tides of the online discussions turned, the same doctors and nurses completely changed and treated her with respect and empathy.

“For that, you really need to…”

Yue Tingfeng cut in before she could finish her sentence. “She’s the one who put you in here, the least she could do was help you out on this. I don’t think she could live with herself if she didn’t.”

Yan Qingsi stared at Yue Tingfeng in shock, he did not let her reveal that he did it! Did he expect Tang Yuyao to feel thankful toward her?

Tang Yuyao was in tears. “Thank you so much, I thought I’d have to live out my life getting all kinds of abuse from the public. Thank you so much… really.”

Yan Qingsi was at a loss for words. This was all Yue Tingfeng’s doing, she actually did… nothing at all.

Yue Tingfeng squeezed Yan Qingsi’s hand, hinting her not to say anything stupid.

Tang Yuyao and her were temporary allies for now, but who knew what might occur in the future?

They both kept each other’s secrets. As long as Tang Yuyao still had some form of gratitude toward Yan Qingsi, she will not betray her so easily if she was put in a difficult situation again.

Yue Tingfeng had been in the business industry for so long, he knew how people usually act—unless the person was Yan Qingsi.

Tang Yuyao suddenly recalled something, saying, “Oh right, there’s something I want to warn you about. You have to be wary of Yan Songnan’s sister, she’s one sneaky woman. Just the other day, she came over to see me trying to dig for information. I think she already suspects there’s something between us.”

“Alright, got it. Once you get better, get out of this place and go as far away as you can.”

Yan Ruke was no ordinary woman. She was probably the smartest and slyest woman in the Yan family. While the whole family was panicking in the mess they were in, Yan Ruke was the only one who remained composed.

Yan Ruke knew Yan Qingsi had hooked up with Yue Tingfeng but she never once made a fuss. She just took it all in quietly, like a venomous snake lying dormant in the bushes, waiting for the opportune moment to deliver that one fatal strike.
