Yan Qingsi spread her hands out — she still had Yan Mingzhu’s blood in her hands.

Yan Qingsi could not help but ask herself, what did she do?

Since she returned to the country, she was hellbent on revenge — she did everything she could to destroy the Yan family, and it was as if her journey of retribution was going well, but… she left quite a few loose ends behind. It was her who gave Yan Mingzhu a chance.

She should not have been soft, and she should not have dreamt of warmth.

Someone as evil as she was did not deserve to be loved.

She should be alone on the dark journey — she should not have friends or lovers at all.

“Sister, are you okay, Sister…” Ji Mianmian called Yan Qingsi a few times, but she did not respond. She realized Yan Qingsi’s face was getting paler, and her gaze turned into despair — Ji Mianmian was so frightened that she nearly cried.

Little Xu shook Yan Qingsi and said, “Sister… sister… please be okay.”

Everyone in the hotel knew that both of them were Yan Qingsi’s assistants, hence the employees quickly informed them when the incident happened. The duo ran downstairs in pajamas and sandals.

Yan Qingsi snapped out of it after being pushed. She saw Little Xu and Ji Mianmian’s worried faces and shook her head. “No… nothing… nothing…”

Ji Mianmian saw the blood in Yan Qingsi’s hands and thought that she injured herself. She blamed herself and said, “I should not have come back alone, I should have accompanied you.”

Little Xu patted Ji Mianmian and said, “Sister, go upstairs and rest.”

Yan Qingsi shook her head. “Go to the hospital, we’re not going back, we’re going to the hospital.”

Ji Mianmian nodded. “Sigh, I’ll go get the car.”

It was already past 4 o’clock in the morning. The sky was turning bright, and Yan Qingsi leaned against the window. She had not slept throughout the night — her eyes were full of visible blood vessels.

She was just thinking earlier today that she was living like a human again.

However… that was obviously not the case! She could never be like anyone else!

Mrs. Yue was already in the emergency room, and Yue Tingfeng was standing outside while leaning against the wall. It happened too quickly — it was so quick that it was impossible to anticipate for anything.

Yue Tingfeng’s hand was still shaking. The mother-and-son relationship between him and Mrs. Yue was deeper than anyone else’s — although he usually lectured and made fun of Mrs. Yue, but that was how he expressed his love towards his mother.

Yan Qingsi saw Yue Tingfeng and she wanted to walk over — but she did not know what to say if she did. “Sorry” was the palest and weakest word.

Yue Tingfeng looked up at Yan Qingsi — she no longer had her usual shine, and her face was pale and confused. She seemed like a person who was lost and did not know where she was going.

Yue Tingfeng walked over and hugged Yan Qingsi. “Nothing’s going to happen, don’t worry.”

After some time, the light on top of the emergency room went off, and the doctor came out.

“The patient is okay, it’s just that she lost a huge amount of blood. Luckily she was sent here in time and there was no injury to her organs — after some time, she will recover fully.”

“Thank you, doctor.”

Yue Tingfeng realized that Yan Qingsi was in a horrible state — he wanted to touch her face, but he saw his own blood on his hand so he put it down instead. He lowered his head and kissed her forehead. “Go back and rest, I’ll look after her, it’s nothing, don’t blame yourself, don’t overthink, there’s nothing to do with you, no one will blame you for this.”

Yue Tingfeng did not blame her, but his pity made Yan Qingsi feel more shameful than giving her a tight slap.

She should have been the one injured.

Even if she died, she did not want to see anyone who truly loved her to get hurt at all.
