Chapter 1345: Lin Yuan’s Team of Spirit Craftsmen

This was because the water-elemental energy and concentration of spirit qi provided by those top factions could not compare to that of the whale fall.

Factions did not regard the Island Whale as an ordinary fey but as a strategic resource.

Some of the factions with sea or trading roles, like Whale Ocean Commerce, nurtured the Island Whales in order to transport goods by sea.

By using the Island Whales, they would not be attacked by sea feys and would be able to trade with the various federations. Hence, there was no need for Whale Ocean Commerce to nurture the Island Whale embryos to the best of their ability.

The number of Creation Masters would not be able to affect the purity of spirit qi and water elements. Instead, the class of the Creation Masters was what mattered. High-class Creation Masters were able to produce spirit qi and water elements of much higher concentration than low-class Creation Masters.

Every faction’s Creation Master resources were tight, and they tried to save as much as possible. Thus, it was no wonder that Whale Ocean Commerce aimed to hatch the Island Whales at the lowest cost possible to save Creation Master resources and nurture more Island Whales.

Lin Yuan used wind-type elemental pearls that all had outer layers.

He had also taken out multiple water-type heavenly-maiden-grade elemental pearls with outer layers and placed them around the Floating Island Whale egg.

This meant that Lin Yuan’s manual nurturing of the Floating Island Whale was no different from the Island Whales nurtured by a whale fall. In fact, the Floating Island Whale he nurtured would be better.

A large whale fall could not compare to the purity of elemental energy in an Over the Rail Coral elemental pearl.

After using the bone marrow from over 90 giant whales and 1,000 wind-type heavenly-maiden-grade elemental pearls, Lin Yuan finally sensed tremors coming from the Floating Island Whale embryo. The Floating Island Whale embryo’s whale cries also became louder.

Lin Yuan smiled. He only had to wait for the little one inside the egg to grow strong enough to break through the shell, and the Floating Island Whale would be hatched.

After the bone marrow from the final giant whale was used up and the Floating Island Whale drew another breath, the island fell silent.

Before the Floating Island Whale hatched, it could not be without pure spirit qi. Lin Yuan hurriedly returned it to the Spirit Lock spatial zone before collecting the unused wind- and water-type heavenly-maiden-grade elemental pearls.

Liu Jie helped Lin Yuan to collect the whale bones as he said, “Lin Yuan, it looks like the Floating Island Whale will be able to hatch within the month. It will be a large undertaking to start building atop the Floating Island Whale once it hatches.

“Hu Quan only has 350 Spirit Craftsmen in the Heavenly Craft Pavilion, and the underground palace needs Hu Quan for the time being. The base in the marsh world also needs Spirit Craftsmen. I think that there are too few Spirit Craftsmen in the Heavenly Craft Pavilion. We should tell Hu Quan to hire more Spirit Craftsmen.”

Lin Yuan did not nod immediately. Instead, he frowned.

There would be construction ongoing simultaneously on the Floating Island Whale’s back, the Divine Wood Federation’s underground palace, and the base in the marsh world. The Heavenly Craft Pavilion’s Spirit Craftsmen would definitely be insufficient.

It might not even be enough to meet his rate of expansion if 500 Spirit Craftsmen were sent to the marsh world to build the base.

There was no person on earth that did not hope that their base would be built as soon as possible. Hence, there would never be enough Spirit Craftsmen in the Heavenly Craft Pavilion.

However, hiring Spirit Craftsmen in earnest for the Heavenly Craft Pavilion would not only require a large number of resources, but Hu Quan would also be unable to teach all of them.

Lin Yuan had discussed this with Hu Quan before, and Hu Quan had said that bringing 500 Spirit Craftsmen at a time was already his limit. The more people were hired, the more potential trouble would follow as it was statistically more possible for there to be a spy amongst them that would leak Sky City’s secrets.

Lin Yuan encountered subterranean dimensional lifeforms like the Land Imp for the first time at the border between the Divine Wood Federation and Iron Hammer Federation.

The Land Imp would be a much better candidate to build the underground palace than Spirit Craftsmen. Three Class 5 Land Imps would be as good as a team of Class 4 Spirit Craftsmen.

Additionally, the Land Imps were good with their hands. Despite their shaggy and unappealing appearance, all of them were competent builders.

Some spirit qi professionals would not immediately kill the Land Imps they encountered in Class 2 subterranean dimensional rifts. Instead, they would follow the Land Imps to their nest before killing them and stealing the weapons in the nest.

The weapons created by the Land Imps were always welcome in the luxury market. It was for this reason that many factions with Creation Master roles had put up job offers at guild clubs for adventurers to catch living Land Imps that the factions then bought from them.

Next, the factions used spirit fluid to try to train the Land Imps. It was then that they discovered it was difficult for humans to subjugate the Land Imps. Even if the Land Imps were eventually successfully trained after prolonged efforts, they would still not be fully loyal and lazy to boot. They would seize the chance to escape whenever it was available.

After so much labor and Creation Master resources invested, those factions had only received pitiful returns.

One of the factions that had been worst hit was Coiling Dragon’s Valley.

During a conversation with Long Tao, the latter had even complained about Coiling Dragon’s Valley’s failure to train the Land Imps to Lin Yuan.

As much as Lin Yuan pitied Long Tao, there was no guarantee that he would also be unable to succeed where Coiling Dragon’s Valley failed.

Creation Masters could not gain the Land Imps’ loyalty because they were unable to harness source-type power. They were only able to use spirit qi and had no concept of faith power.

Spirit qi was tempting to every fey but completely unappealing to dimensional lifeforms.

However, Lin Yuan could use the Sacred Sword Wielding Queen and Dark Blue to wield both source-type power and faith power.

Additionally, he had gained the Vein Land Imp in the Divine Wood Federation and transformed it into an Apostle.

With the Vein Land Imp, Lin Yuan could use it to teach other Land Imps in the future. The Vein Land Imp would pick the best Land Imps to become its believers or use its totem to change them into Favored Believers.

This would increase not only the power of the Vein Land Imp’s faith power but also create a fully faithful team for Lin Yuan’s sake.

If Lin Yuan used the same resources on these Land Imps that he was currently using on the Spirit Craftsmen, he would be able to accomplish his goal sooner.

Once the Class 6 dimensional rift in the Radiance Federation was opened to the public, the Radiance Federation would undergo a radical change.

Since this was the beginning of this century’s transformation, Lin Yuan would follow the trend and make use of dimensional lifeforms to their greatest extent.
