“The imperial clan!”

Jiang Yi’s mind suddenly shook as he turned to look at where Zhan Wushuang was looking at. With just a single glance, his eyes instantly brightened. There were soldiers, who wore black armor, walking over from the north in two lines. There was just a small group of 1000, which quickly ran over and spread out into a single line. In the middle of the army was a young lady that wore a jade crown and a five-color phoenix robe.

A girl that was wearing such clothing could only be the imperial princess of the Azure Dragon Empire. The imperial clan actually sent out a princess to host this Kingdom War? Moreover, it was a beautiful princess that looked like a fairy from the nine heavens. The countless men present were just like Jiang Yi, whose eyes instantly lit up the moment they saw the princess. It was an instinctive reaction that a man would have when they saw a beauty.

This young lady was 16 years of age. She wasn’t at the age that could be considered as breathtaking, but the feeling that she portrayed was good-looking; and her looks slowly grew on anyone. Especially that pair of eyes which had a distinct difference between the white sclera and the black iris. It felt as though it had a special magic that attracted other’s eyes, charming countless men that were present.

“There is nothing to see anymore!”

Zhan Wushuang suddenly pushed Jiang Yi, which caused him to snap out of the daze. There was a flash of amazement in Jiang Yi’s eyes. When he looked around and noticed that many young masters were having an infatuated expression, he instantly got a shock. He glanced at the imperial princess who walked over leisurely, and he exclaimed softly, “There is something wrong with this princess! En… she must be an expert that cultivates the soul spirit!”

“Clever!”

Zhan Wushuang laughed lightly while Jiang Yi took a look at Zhan Wushuang and asked curiously, “Why are you fine like normal? Could it be that you don’t like women?”

“Get lost!”

Zhan Wushuang glared and said with fury, “My Battle God race is renowned in the world. I saw through this little charm art with a single look. It is natural that I didn’t get charmed.”

Jiang Yi gave a thumbs-up. The Battle God race was truly well-known, and it was for a good reason. For the past ten thousand years, the Zhan Clan might not have any martial expert that was ranked no.1 in the continent, but they had four members who were in the continent’s top ten. How did a clan continue to exist for ten thousand years? They relied on the unending birth of martial experts. Otherwise, they would be like a night-blooming cactus and would simply vanish in the river of history.

Shh-shh-shh!

The empire’s princess soon arrived at the front of the plaza. Her eyes had this subtle yellow light that suddenly lit up, and soon enough, the countless young masters woke up with a shock. If they had a conflict with this princess, they would probably die without knowing how it happened, right?

The imperial princess didn’t say anything but just extended her jade-like hands. An imperial official immediately walked up and began to read the rules and also the purpose of the Kingdom War.

After hearing a few sentences of it, Jiang Yi scoffed at it. The face of this empire was as thick as the city walls. They were saying that this Kingdom War would allow the martial artists of the world to grow under this Blood Purge, giving birth to stronger martial experts… benefiting future generations for thousands of years.

The minor Kingdom War was fine as it did allow many young prodigies to grow in the blood battle. The past minor Kingdom War did create many martial experts as well. This was just like the laws of the forest where the beasts would slaughter one another and finally gave rise to a king of beasts.

What about the major Kingdom War?

During the major Kingdom Wars, the six vassal states would each send out a million soldiers; and how many would die in every war? At least two million, right? The major Kingdom War was mainly participated by the military forces. Some of these soldiers were already over the age of 30 and wouldn’t be able to achieve any great feats in their lifetime. They were simply sent in to die!

From Jiang Yi’s perspective, the purpose of the Kingdom War was to weaken the six vassal states and not let any of them have any methods to conquer the entire continent. As long as the six vassal states impeded on one another and didn’t allow one of the kingdoms to grow overly strong, the empire would be able to continue existing. Otherwise, if one of the vassal states wanted to conquer the continent, they would definitely eradicate the Azure Dragon Empire first.

Of course, this was just Jiang Yi’s personal guess. There were many doubts in his heart, like why didn’t the six armies take down the Stellarsky City when they were just outside of the city? Why was it that if he could see that this Kingdom War was just weakening the six kingdoms, they remained so passionate about it?

Once the official ended the speech, a red ring on the jade hands of the imperial princess shone brightly. A fiery red longsword appeared in her hands. The moment when the sword appeared, everyone’s eyes widened.

“Saint artifact!”

Zhan Wushuang let out a light breath with eyes that were blazing hot. Saint artifacts were very scarce in the continent, much rarer than the ancient divine essence ring. Saint-tier weapons were even rarer. This sword was the real reason why so many young masters from the great clans were entering the Kingdom War!

Qian Wanguan originally predicted that there was going to be over a hundred Soul Travel Realm experts in this Kingdom War, but the number was currently over three hundred. Of course, with the additional Soul Travel Realm experts, half of them were probably here for the Fire Dragon Sword while the other half was here to slaughter Jiang Yi!

This was an imperious longsword, which had a length of seven feet. Its entire body was fiery-red, and there seemed to be a red light flowing within it—just like a fire dragon swimming within. Even a blind man could feel that this sword was extraordinary.

“This—this sword…”

Jiang Yi’s exaggerated expression and tone attracted Zhan Wushuang’s attention. He looked over and smiled as he said, “This is the reward for this Kingdom War, right? The saint-tier weapon, Fire Dragon Sword. Jiang Yi, haven’t you seen a saint artifact before? You were the one who broke the Man-Ruler Seal last year, right? Why are you behaving like it is a big deal?”

Jiang Yi’s expression was indeed exaggerated. It wasn’t because he had never seen a saint artifact before, but this sword was indeed strange!

The fire-dragon pattern on the sword was similar to the seal on his dantian, and… it was similar to the dragon pattern on the Fire Spirit Pearl, too. Of course, the main reason was that the Fire Spirit Pearl had sudden lit up; and Jiang Yi’s mind had this ineffable thought that suddenly surged. There seemed to be someone who was urging him to get near and obtain the sword!

What is going on? Could the Fire Spirit Pearl be related to the sword? Otherwise, why would the Fire Spirit Pearl react like this?

Jiang Yi had this rage in his heart as he stared at that sword. The thought was getting more intense in his mind which caused him to nearly dash over and plunder it.

“Jiang Yi, what’s wrong with you?”

Zhan Wushuang, who was at the side, could feel something was wrong. Jiang Yi’s eyes were beginning to glow red like a starved wolf staring at the piece of fresh meat. He quickly pulled Jiang Yi, and fortunately, the princess brandished the longsword and quickly stored it back into the ancient divine essence ring. Jiang Yi’s restless heart finally calmed down.

“I must get the first place. I must get that sword!”

Jiang Yi gulped down his saliva and muttered softly. He didn’t know why was he having such a strange thought, but he had this indescribable feeling that this sword was related to him in an unknown way. At least, it was definitely related to the Fire Spirit Pearl!

“The participant with the most accumulation points shall be rewarded with this saint-tier, Fire Dragon Sword. The Kingdom War shall begin. Once all the participants redeem their medals, please enter the teleportation array!”

After the imperial princess gave the order, three teleportation arrays lit up in front of the place. Groups of martial artists began to approach the teleportation array orderly. They redeemed a different medal that was respective to their different strengths. Finally, they entered the teleportation array and were taken to the Crystal Stone Plains.

“Jiang Yi. Take care! It doesn’t matter if you can obtain the champion place; you have to survive. If you are not around in this world, I will feel lonely!”

Zhan Wushuang patted on Jiang Yi’s shoulder and led his clansmen straight ahead. He was different from Jiang Yi. Jiang Yi was an independent wolf and would be moving around between battles. Zhan Wushuang had brought along plenty of men and had to find a place to defend themselves. Thus, he had to enter early and find an advantageous terrain.

“En, take care!”

Jiang Yi waved his hand, but his body didn’t move. He waited for two hours before entering the array while Shui Qianrou and the others were already impatient from the wait and had entered first.
