Gacha Sovereign
chapter-378

"Seven Stars Cut!" As expected for one of the veterans. Even when Alex sneak attacked him, he was still able to react.

Both of them made Seven Stars Cut, and Conn's Seven Stars Cut also had seven layers.

"Boom!"

The shock immediately blasted both Alex and Conn away.

"Sneak attack, huh… Don't underestimate me, brat!" Conn said as he released his 50-meter sword domain.

Alex's eyes became sharp as he took a deep breath. He fully released both of his 80-meter domains.

"Wha-!" When Conn and Silvia saw that, they were shocked beyond their imagination. Silvia realized that Alex still held back against her, in fact, Alex only released half the size of his domains.

Alex jumped forward as he started engaging with Conn in close combat. Alex fully used his powerful strength to fight Conn. He still remembered Charya's advice, and he could not drag this for too long.

When Silvia watched their clashes, she was dumbfounded. She never thought that Alex, who was only a 6-Star Martial Lord, had the strength to contend with a 9-Star Martial Lord. If he was a 7-Star or 8-Star Martial Lord, she could still relate after considering his past performances. After all, Alex always defeated opponents that had 1-Star or 2-Star above him. However, this time, it was 3-Star.

In just a span of a minute, they were clashing a hundred rounds. Alex tried to suppress Conn with his Sword and Spear. Coon seemed did not have any problem with Alex's sword and spear techniques. However, she could see that Conn had a problem with handling Alex's brute strength.

She certainly remembered that Alex's power was twice as her, AKA 16 dragon strength. However, what made him abnormal was the fact that Alex was only a 6-Star Martial Lord. If this were the case when Alex became 10-Star Martial Lord, he would at least have 20 dragon strength, and he would be unstoppable if he became a Martial King.

She would not believe it, but the fact was in front of her eyes. She had her pride as the student of the first elder, and she promised him to win or at least fight a hard battle with the elders. Sadly, she lost to Alex in their first fight.

She wanted to regret it, but at least she needed to watch this fight to the end. Although Alex could be said to be suppressing Conn Kindellan, it was just a slight advantage. To defeat Conn, Alex would need a stronger power, especially since Alex had a lower cultivation base. If he dragged too long, he would exhaust his Spiritual Energy and lose to Conn, and it seemed Conn was trying to do that.

Alex was thinking about using his fire in this competition as well as in the Grand Tournament. After all, as long as he won this, his name would reverberate through the continent. At least, no one was foolish enough to challenge him and question him about his fire. Well, he also had his Fire Phoenix Seed as camouflage, and his identity as Alchemist was already well-known.

In fact, he did not really worry about the tournament. After all, he should be able to reach 7-Star or 8-Star Martial Lord at that time. And with his progress speed, he would be able to reach the Sword King realm before the Grand Tournament.

Together with his Spirits reaching Martial Kings, he would not need to be afraid of Martial Kings from other sects. However, Alex indeed had another problem. Charya said there would be an envoy from the Northern Continent that would help establish the Grand Tournament.

That was one of the problems as he did not know how much he could show to them. And another problem would be the potential threat from the Zhou Kingdom as well as whatever influence that backed them up.

It was too early for him to worry about it. After all, when that time came, he should already be able to handle 10-Star Martial Lord with his 8-Star Martial Lord cultivation alone. However, this time, Alex was still too far from Conn, especially when his Immovable Step had reached its limit of 5 dragon strength.

Alex took a deep breath. Since this was not the battle for the token, Alex decided to back away. With this much fight, Conn should not chase him since it would be a foolish move.

Unfortunately, when he thought about that, eight pillars of light suddenly rose to the sky. Alex and Conn immediately recognized that light. It was the eight token. But the thing that made him irritated was when he saw one of the tokens was a few meters away from them. It had been concealed pretty neatly.

Alex did not have the chance other than fighting Conn here and grabbed that token as soon as possible.

Fire started surrounding Alex's sword and spear. When Conn saw that, he immediately retreated a few meters away from them.

"Wait… I forgot you are an Alchemist… As an Alchemist, your control of fire should be powerful. I see, because your Sword and Spear Technique, I… No, all of the people from Heavenly Sword Sect forgot about that. You have been hiding this ability this entire time!" Conn said.

Alex did not say anything to him.

"To think the disciple that I brought to this place three years ago, became my rival in this battle." Conn shook his head helplessly.

"I am grateful to you for bringing me to this place, but I have my circumstances. I am planning to win this and participate in the Grand Tournament."

"Then, you need to defeat me first to grab the token.

"That's what I am going to do."

Both of their eyes became sharp as they swung their sword at the same time.

"Seven Stars Cut!"

Both of them released their Seven Stars Cut simultaneously. Although they were at the same level, the winner was already decided the moment Alex released his fire.

Conn Kindellan also realized that as he prepared himself to dodge the Seven Stars Cut. But before he could even do that, Alex already surrounded him with his swords. Conn already did what Charya did. He thought by knocking the swords away and planting them in the ground, Alex would not be able to pull them out with technique alone.

However, because Charya had shown him that, he already prepared the countermeasure. As long as one of the swords was alright, Alex could control that sword and help the other swords out of the ground.

"Tch!" Conn clicked his tongue as he knew he could not avoid this.

"Singular Blade!"

Alex already saw this technique. Conn's Singular Blade was similar to his Pentagram Slash. Although it was not as powerful as Pentagram Slash, it could release more slashes. And Conn used it to knock the sword away before facing Alex's Seven Stars Cut.

"Haaa!" Conn was using every ounce of his strength to destroy Alex's Seven Stars Cut. The clash was brief, but Conn was still staring at Alex. He thought Alex would use this to move around him and strike him. If he did that, he would be able to counter him. However, to his surprise, Alex did not move from his spot.

"Boom!" The sword wave exploded as Conn managed to destroy it. He had prepared for Alex's next attack, but it did not come.

He could see Alex was raising his spear. But before Alex swung it down, he felt danger from his left. When he turned his head, he saw a sword flying toward him while rotating around in the air.

"!!!" Conn pulled back his head to avoid the sword. It turned out that Alex's spear was bait so he could launch a surprise attack from the side. But, Alex failed to defeat him with that. He smirked, "You won't defeat me that easily."

Alex only shook his head as he lowered his spear.

Conn did not know why Alex shook his head. He wanted to charge toward Alex once again, but stopped when he saw Alex's right hand pointed at his chest. Suddenly, Conn felt something wrong, he looked down toward his chest and saw his badge was already cut.

Conn finally realized what happened. When he tried to remember what Alex did, he could only shake his head in defeat. To think Alex played a mind game against him.

Silvia dropped her jaw to the ground when she realized Conn had been defeated by Alex. Since she was on the side, she could clearly see what happened.

It was when Conn clashed with Alex's Seven Stars Cut. At that particular time, Alex raised his spear to shift his focus to his spear. And with the spear length, Alex succeeded in directing his attention to the top.

However, Alex suddenly tossed the sword in his right hand as low as possible before controlling it to make a surprise attack for him. Because Conn focused was toward Alex's spear that was above his head, he would not notice Alex's sword had gone from his hand and almost reached him.

When the Seven Stars Cut broke, Alex made the sword rotate precisely so it would cut Conn's badge.

Alex chose to do this so he would not use his Spiritual Energy more than this. After all, he already spent half of his energy.

When Conn realized he had lost, he laughed uncontrollably. "Hahaha… to think he defeated me. Ah, you are really something else. Well, go and take that token. I am sure you will make a bang when you enter the Grand Tournament. I will be cheering for you."

Alex nodded. "Thank you."

"Anyway, I will go back to the sect master's position and wait there," Conn said as he turned to Silvia. "Are you going with me or going back to the sect directly?"

Silvia sighed. "I will follow you. I have disappointed my master, so I will take the punishment from him later."

"Haha, don't say it like that little lass. I also lost to that guy over there, so I will help you convince that old brick." Conn laughed.

Alex looked at them disappear into the woods. He let out a sigh as he felt relief.

He then started walking toward the token. The token had a golden color, and a Sword was drawn on the token. However, when Alex was about to grab that token, he froze.

"To think I will meet you in this place," Alex said tiredly.

"Hoho… This must be fate. In fact, I have been watching your fight from afar." An old man appeared from within the woods.

Alex turned around and saw the familiar old man. "Do I really need to fight you in this state, Third Elder?"

Alex never expected that he would meet a 10-Star Martial Lord in this competition. If it were another 9-Star Martial Lord, he would be able to defeat them. But, it was different for 10-Star Martial Lord.

"Did I use all of my luck earlier?" Alex cursed inwardly. He looked at Elder Dolf Kolk and said, "I can just give this token to you and search for another one."

"Do you think I will let you go?" Elder Dolf narrowed his eyes.

"Not good, huh…" Alex sighed. "Well, escaping is also a no go in my state since you can chase me easily."

"Anyway, you are still too young. Considering your progress, I won't be your opponent if you have another year. Sadly, you don't have that time."

Alex took out his Sword and Spear. "There is only one way for me to finish this."

"It is good if you can understand it." Elder Dolf said with a smirk while releasing his 60-meters sword domain.

Alex also released both of his domains to the fullest. He was still coming up with the plan to defeat Elder Dolf. And it seemed his fire alone would not be enough. So, the only way to defeat him was to reveal another trump card.

Alex took a deep breath to prepare himself for that. The moment he finished, both Alex and Elder Dolf disappeared.
