Gacha Sovereign
chapter-453

Meanwhile, in the Empyrean Guild, a woman slowly walked to Ruby as she wanted to report her mission. The woman had blonde hair with a red eye on her right and a blue eye on her left, making a unique charm on her face. She wore a white shirt coupled with a white mini skirt. However, her body was covered by a long white robe as she hid two daggers inside.

"Ah, you have finally come back." Ruby greeted her. "How is the mission?"

"No problem." She handed the mission report that had been stamped red by the client together with her Guild Card.

Ruby nodded and received both of them before updating her Guild Card. She then gave them back to her and said, "Before you leave, Guild Master wants to ask something to you. So, wait a bit. I will call him for you."

"Alright." She waited for a while and saw Ruby come back with the guild master.

"Lilian. There is something I need from you." The old man said.

"What is it, Guild Master? Is there a hard mission for me?"

"Hmm… This mission is hard but can be said not hard. Because it depends on the other party's personality."

"You mean there is a Dark Group?"

"No no. This is about a new recruit of our guild."

"Hmmm? We have a new recruit? This is interesting since our guild reputation is not really good outside. Although our guild is strong, new people would usually go to the other three guilds. And it's been four months before the last new recruit." Lilian furrowed her eyebrows. "What about this new recruit? Is he an Evil Mage?"

"That's what I want you to investigate. Your instinct is pretty accurate, so you should ask his identity and the others to see whether he is not a threat to our guild."

"I can do it, but won't this make him suspicious? I mean, by coming to him and asking a couple of questions so suddenly."

"Indeed. That's why I am planning to make the other gold mages to go for a mission. That way, only you and Ruby in this guild. But since technically Ruby is our guild receptionist, you are the one who can go to a mission."

"I see. I will invite him to a mission and ask him a few questions like a casual chat… but why do you need me to investigate him? I mean, he is just a new recruit. You need to trust him a little bit. And if the new recruit is a female, you need to restrain yourself and not harass them."

"I know, Ruby also says that. I do trust the new recruit, but there is something very strange from this new recruit."

"Something strange? You mean his element?"

"I don't know. If you think a 23 years old Tier 5 magician coming here without a purpose is not strange, then I am not sure what is strange anymore."

Lilian opened her eyes wide, shocked by the information. 23 years old Tier 5 magician… It was such an insane young man as normally Tier 5 magicians would be around 35 years old or more. This new recruit managed to pique her interest, and she understood the concern of the guild master.

"I see. If he is a Tier 5 magician, I can bait him with a big mission. I am sure he wants to be a Gold Mage since you can do many things with that identity."

"Indeed. I have prepared a mission for both of you." He took out a request paper. "This is a request for a 5-Star Tier 5 monster. The monster has destroyed a few cities, and the request comes from the King himself. Both of you will receive one million Spirit Stones and one thousand achievement points if you subjugate the monster."

"Understood. With such a reward, he would most likely accept." She nodded. "Where is he then?"

"He is under a mission for… what is it, Ruby? I forget." He looked at Ruby, who was busy cleaning the plates.

"A Dark Group. He seems pretty confident, so I'm sure he will come back in a few days to a week." Ruby said.

"Alright. I will stay in the guild for a while." She nodded.

On the contrary,

Alex just finished killing all the members in the dark group. He separated all their heads for the proof.

"Nano, it seems all of this is the mayor's scheme."

"Yes. From the look of it, no one knows about it, including his family. After all, this will damage his reputation and might get executed for his crime if someone knows about this."

"This makes things easier for us. I will make him sign or stamp the paper first as the proof that I have completed my mission. After that, we will stage an assassination scene if he decides to attack me. If not, I will let him be. He is just a bystander after all."

"Understood. I will be standing by outside the mansion, waiting for the event unfolds."

"Thank you."

Alex then left the dark cave. He forgot he needed to ask about the runemaster and where he could sell his Array plate/Rune. He also needed to rent a place soon as this might take him a while since he needed a few days just to get two hundred points while he did not know how much he needed to become a gold mage.

Alex came to the mayor's house and took out his request paper. The guard nodded and guided him inside before telling the mayor about him.

Not long after, a chubby man came inside the room. Alex checked him with his Spirit Eyes, but luckily he did not see anything strange inside his body. This meant he only needed to wary about him being the mastermind of this request.

"Good Afternoon, Mayor. I have completed the quest." Alex politely said. He observed the mayor's strength and realized he was 2-Star Martial King, the same as the dark group leader. This might be the reason why they decided to cooperate with each other. The mayor might not be able to get rid of that bandit, then he might as well cooperate with him since both of them would be benefited from it.

"I need to inspect it first. Do you bring their heads or something that can be recognized from them?" The mayor asked.

Even normal people should have realized up to this point. It was already not normal for the mayor to see their heads personally, as this should be the job of the guard or his subordinates.

Alex took out their heads and placed all of them on the table.

"These are the heads. I apologize if this makes you uncomfortable." Alex replied.

The mayor frowned for an instant before his expression changed to normal. However, he was raging inwardly. 'Damn, you bastard. How can those guys be defeated? He is only a 1-Star Tier 5 mage, and he should not be able to defeat him. This guy must have something that can let him defeat them. If it is like that, then this is my chance to grab it from him since I could not utilize those guys again.'

Alex saw the movement of energy from the mayor's body into his right hand. He was planning to do something to him. Alex simply ignored that and said. "Since I have finished my mission, I implore for the mayor to sign the request paper."

"Haha… Sure sure. Do you want to rest here first for your hard work? You can go back tomorrow." The mayor said with a smile while taking the mission paper and stamped it. He also made his guard give him his Spirit Stones reward.

When Alex heard this, he simply smirked inside his heart. He said, "How can I receive such graciousness? A normal mage like me will go back immediately and won't bother the mayor as you have many things to do."

"That is a shame." The mayor said while handing the paper back.

Alex then clasped his hands while bowing to him politely. He then turned back before leaving the room.

It was then that the mayor took his staff quietly as he made a huge black ball, wanting to kill Alex with it.

Alex took out his sword as his domain appeared on the edge of his sword. He turned back and cut the staff into two. Because of that, the mayor lost his control of the black ball and let it explode.

"Boom!"

"You-!" Before the mayor could shout or the guard outside came.

Alex chopped him into pieces with his fast movement. The mayor tried to block it with his staff, albeit Alex's sword was too sharp, so he ended up cutting the mayor along with the staff. He also made a few superficial in his body to make it more believable.

*Bang!*

"Mayor, what happens?" The guards stormed inside the room, looking at the mayor who was chopped into pieces and the injured Alex. Alex raised his hand and sent a few firebirds to the outside before looking at the guards.

"Assassin. He killed the mayor." Alex said while gesturing he was hurt by panting and putting his hand on the wound.

The guard also noticed a strange person outside with a mask trying to escape from this place. They instantly believed Alex's story.

"Chase him! Don't let him escape." They shouted.

"Are you okay?" One of the guards stayed behind and looked at Alex.

"Yes. I am going to tend my wound first at the inn." Alex said. "I am sorry, but I can't join you guys with these wounds."

The guard nodded and let him through.

Alex kept pretending he was hurt. He did not go to the inn but to a dark alley. After that, he teleported outside the town and summoned Anya.

"Well, you should not get a mission with the subjugation of a dark force or something again, Alex…" Anya said while healing him.

"It seems so. Last time with Putri and this time… I should not get another mission like this, afraid there will be a third time. I thought it would be fine since it is another world…"

"Haha… Anyway, they should not get something from Nano, so we should be safe for now." She said.

"We will go back and search for a place. You can then start compiling the information about this world from Nano or the situation in the Northern Continent from Anya and the others while I am racking up the points for traveling." Alex said.

"Yes. I will do that." She nodded.

After Anya finished healing him, he flew back to the guild. But, before he went back to report his mission, he decided to look around the town for a place to stay. Ultimately, he rented a house for fifty thousand a month. It was pretty expensive, but Alex thought it was worth it.

The place was spacious with a few bedrooms, living rooms, and any other necessities. He just needed to place a few Sound Insulation Room in the house to make it more comfortable. He also needed to make a few arrays for practice, such as gathering array and Simulation Room.

He did not have any shortage of Spirit Stones at the moment, and if he could sell his Array Plate, he would become rich.

After settling on his new house, he decided to go back to the guild tomorrow morning. It was only a few minutes away from the guild anyway.

Anya had settled down in a room beside him. She wanted to stay in his room like Anya, but Alex said no, so she reluctantly used the room beside him.

Alex then sat on his bed while watching the sky. He was wondering if Anya could do something in this world.

When the morning came,

Alex opened his eyes as he came out of the house and headed to the guild. Unbeknownst to him, the guild master of Empyrean Guild had prepared a scheme for him, which was Lilian. And he would believe it because he needed the points as soon as possible to get back to his friends.
