chapter-654
"Take this—!" The old man was going to throw a fist toward Alex, but there was another interruption.
"Too late!" Leoz finally finished charging the technique with all of his strength. He stretched his hand wide and roared. Leoz, who had been silent until now, finally released his might.
"Lightning God Possession, Heaven's Wrath!"
*Rumble!*
A bolt of lightning flew down with its mighty power before it suddenly split into thousands of smaller lightning strikes, coloring the sky with a flash of golden color. Although it didn't make a huge impact like Alex's golden tribulation, it was still enough to brighten the sky nearby. This small lightning might not do anything to the old man or Arman, yet both of them looked upward, noticing something big was coming.
If these were the disciples from Joyful Union Sect, they might only see a golden flash before a huge explosion shook the world. However, they were still bona fide Martial Saints. The small lightning from earlier was just making a path for the last lighting. The golden flash locked onto the two Martial Saints and made its appearance.
"I'm stopping it!" The old man's pride obviously wouldn't let this matter go. No matter how abnormal this lightning was, he was also a Lightning User, a 5-Star Martial Saint on top of that. He didn't have much preparation for this, but he suddenly raised both hands and flew upward.
A translucent image of a bird flashed on their eyes as it turned into an armor that enveloped him. The old man simply put his hand on this lightning and stopped it. Of course, his condition wasn't that much better. His right hand was numb while he felt the crack on his left-hand bone.
Although Leoz was only a 7-Star Martial Monarch with a boost to 1-Star Martial Saint, this attack power was still ridiculous, equaling a 3-Star if not 4-Star Martial Saint. He couldn't imagine what would happen if he grew to his level.
Still, the old man preserved, knowing it was his fault to let this happen.
Arman thought for a moment. Though the old man was spiteful, he was still a Martial Saint. He channeled his energy to his sword and sent it flying in two directions. One flew toward the Lightning while the other one made its way toward Alex.Alex formed the shield for the third time, blocking this attack. He didn't stop only at this as he took a token out of his Inventory. He channeled his Spiritual Energy inside the token to activate it.
He remembered that a technique called Fire Devil String was sealed inside this token. Although the technique might not be strong enough to kill Manness, it was powerful enough to kill both of these Martial Saints.
The token shone brightly as it flew out of his hand as if it had consciousness. Alex realized that it truly had one when he checked the token with his Spirit Eyes. The consciousness was none other than his Master's consciousness. Unfortunately, he couldn't appear in this world anymore, so only a little of his consciousness was here.
A few hard to see strings suddenly flew out of the token, flying toward the old man who was trying to stop the lightning strike and Arman, who just sent a sword wave.
Alex observed the strings and found out they had this powerful Fire Energy deep within them. Yet it couldn't be seen due to the size of the string.
The first one that noticed this was Arman since he had a more relaxed situation.
"Whirlwind Strike!" Arman released another wind pressure to blow these strings. Unfortunately, Maxwell was controlling these strings. When they were blown away by the wind pressure, they simply came back with a higher speed and struck him. Arman tried to launch another attack, but his sword was stopped by a few strings while a few others enveloped his body and…
*Bloop!*
He was shredded into pieces by the strings without any kind of resistance as if the Spiritual Energy that reinforced his body or his clothes that looked like it was made of powerful material didn't exist. His fleshes were scattered around, and his blood formed a small pool.
The goriness didn't stop here as a chunk of fleshes rained down from above. Alex looked up and found that the strings also neutralized the Lightning Strike.
Just like this, two 5-Star Martial Saints died.
Alex muttered to himself, "Under normal circumstances, the strings won't be able to catch them up since they can simply avoid them. I have prepared to use my Spatial Gate to bring them back here the moment they escape, but it seems I have chosen a perfect timing to release this attack."
"Yes," Leoz replied to him before falling to the ground. "To think this long planning will only result in such an anticlimactic battle… Not that I complained about it."
"If you didn't stop them with your Lightning, it would be very hard to have locked their movement and have them in the same place." Alex smiled while helping Leoz to get up and carrying him on his shoulder. "Thank you, Leoz."
"Haha, the plan didn't turn out to be what we expected, especially Sherry's part, and their expression told me they were on edge this whole time, resulting in them reacting slightly later than they usually did. This was the reason why I could stop that old man with this Lightning Strike." Leoz continued panting with a pale face. Knowing he couldn't last longer than this, he said, "Young Master, I need to go back to the card before my instinct takes over."
"Yeah. Thank you for your hard work." Alex nodded, watching Leoz disappear. The token flew toward him and shone as if his master was in front of him, telling him how proud he was. Alex smiled, clasped his hands respectfully, and bowed his head. After that, the token emptied its energy and fell on his hands. No matter how hard he tried, the token wouldn't lit up again.
Meanwhile, the rest of the group was stunned by the death of two 5-Star Martial Saints. Alex used this opportunity to get closer to them while looking at the group with cold eyes as if he was going to murder them.
"No way!"
"Two 5-Star Martial Saints died just like that?"
"How could that be?! Their opponents were only 3-Star and 7-Star Martial Monarchs. This must be a dream!"
They were covered with cold sweats, especially the ones from Ancient Blue Family. They had enjoyed a peaceful time ever since the Fire God Clan arrived. All those influences that were going to attack them shut and hid themselves inside their home, terrified if Fire God Clan would attack them.
The Fire God Clan even promised them to take care of this matter seriously after they dealt with the rumor of Alexander Sirius. Unfortunately, their true nightmare just started, wondering what kind of existence they had offended. They could only curse their own main family that wanted to use them to gain the favor of the Fire God Clan. Little did they know that it was a trap all along.
Unfortunately, only the people from Sacred Continent's Ancient Blue Family would suffer because the main family didn't care this much of a loss.
They stared at Alex and realized their fate. The only way to run from that fate was to escape from this place and scatter in all directions. They still had around one hundred fifty people here, so they should be enough to confuse Alex and his group.
"Esc-" One of them tried to say something before a powerful Spiritual Energy swept over them as a female voice echoed in the battlefield.
"You have angered my husband. No matter if you are forced or not, you are already foolish to challenge him. And do you think I will let you escape from this place?"
This voice startled everyone in the battlefield, especially Alex's group. Alex was stunned to the point his body started shaking. He couldn't believe she would come to this place and be so silent like this. His Spirits were smiling while only Sherry could put on a big smile because Kyle and Stina had no knowledge about such a beauty.
All of them looked up and found a red-haired beauty floating above them. She had long red hair tied into a ponytail as she used to be. Coupled with the blazing red eyes that seemed to have glowed more brightly than the ones in Alex's memory, her face alone could raise one's thought.
She wore a gorgeous red dress that complemented her fiery body. A shawl covered with fire circled around her hand, running through the back of her body, and appeared on the other hand. She looked perfectly like a fire goddess that descended onto the world to grace her presence to mortals.
The red shawl suddenly glowed as the woman lifted her two hands and swung them down, shooting out flames from both palms.
No one could react by her sudden appearance as they didn't know whether it was because her otherworld beauty or her aura somehow pulled them in.
The flames encroached upon the lands before it suddenly flared up to the sky. Surprisingly, it twisted until it reached a certain height and tied together on the top, creating a birdcage that trapped everyone within. The bars were made of fire with a width that wasn't possible to cross with the human body.
As the cage was summoned, the female pointed her small hand toward the crowd.
"!!!" Alex's gaze focused on the woman, and felt his Pure Fire reacting as if the woman was calling it. After a slight silence, Alex released his Pure Fire and let it fly to the sky.
The woman summoned an orange flame from her hand, shooting right into Alex's Pure Fire.
Alex's red fire suddenly swallowed this orange flame, but not to devour it. Instead, the orange flame still shone brightly as if the red flame protecting it inside its body.
"Flame of Dawn." The woman said softly.
To everyone's surprise, the orange flame that seemed to be protected by the red flame suddenly exploded. The red flame burst out to all directions like a sea urchin before the woman waved her hand.
The fiery spikes turned around and charged toward all these people.
"All of you wake up! She is a new enemy!" One of them said out loud, waking every single person from the Fire God Clan and Ancient Blue Family. They pulled their weapons and tried to protect themselves from these many spikes.
Many of them were impaled, whether on their vital spots or heads. Each spike carried Alex's Pure Fire and started burning all the organs around the stabbed area, killing all people who were stabbed.
In this move alone, she killed around fifty people, mainly from the Fire God Clan.
"Attack!" Although Alex was shocked by all of this, he still gritted his teeth and shocked despite the unbearable desire to call her name.
This shock changed everyone's expression as they picked up their weapons and began killing them according to the plan. They almost forgot to do a follow up to attack them at their enemies in their most vulnerable state.
"I have said that you need to pay a price for offending my husband." The woman said coldly from up above as if they were already dead in her eyes, believing the spirits and contracted beasts. She finally turned to Alex.
Knowing that she had finished her job, she descended down to Alex's level and stared at him for a few seconds while smiling gently. Her flame and Alex flames suddenly came out as if a pair finally met once again like their master. It flew and circled in the sky.
"Husband… I miss you."
The two Spiritual Weapons realized it was their time to act and created a small barrier to protect these two.
Alex quickly grabbed her hand, pulled her into his embrace, and hugged her tightly. His hands were trembling while his voice was shaking. Nonetheless, he still called her name and let out his feelings. "Firia!"
