Genetic Ascension

When Sunniva saw such a beautiful woman appear, her expression couldn't help but twist. Her opinion of Sylas was already low before, but it was hard for it to not get even lower now.
Could he want to do them both? Wait, why did this woman seem dead?
Her thoughts only became worse and worse until Nosphaleen suddenly frowned.
Without the effects of the Hibernation Realm, Nosphaleen was no longer healing faster than the cancer could harm her body. Very quickly, ugly patches began to flower across her once pristine skin and soon began to grow from birthmarks to tumorous growths. However, Sylas had already focused his attention on her, beginning to slowly pull the cancerous Gene out of her body.
It had to be remembered that he had only put the cancer Gene in her body as a failsafe. He wanted to suppress the Clypsian Genes inside of her so that she would be registered as a Serpentes.
The main goal, though, wasn't to keep her as a servant. It was just to bring her out of the Dungeon. Now that he had, and they were in a relatively secluded place, it was time to reverse things. Nosphaleen was of no use to him if she was in perpetual hibernation.
Before, it would have been very difficult for Sylas to do this. And honestly, it still was.
Pushing the cancer Gene into deeper layers of her body was much easier than pulling it out. That was because in the first direction, he only had to have control over the Gene itself, but in the reverse direction, he would have to poke around in deeper layers of her body.
Genes were just the simplest layer of one's body constitution. Deeper than that, there were Gene Talents, and deeper than that, there were an array of things that Sylas couldn't quite understand just yet.
Luckily, contracting Nosphaleen had allowed him to gain enough Experience to progress his Taboo Bond Talent. This gave him the ability to control Gene Talents to a certain extent. As such, he had a little bit more control over the deeper layers. If he had to actually change or extricate them, he couldn't do so. But if it was just about pulling a Gene out from their layers…
He could manage that.
Sylas tried to be quick. If too much damage was done to Nosphaleen's body, she might die. And this time, if she wasn't deemed Serpentes enough, he wouldn't be able to put her into the Hibernation Realm for a quick heal.
He had to be quick and decisive, and that was what he was.
It took almost ten minutes for Sylas to succeed and finally pull the cancerous Gene all the way out.
The good news was that the closer he got to success, the slower the cancer growth was.
The bad news was that there was still very much cancer growth. There were particularly large, discolored tumors on one side of her face, her leg, and on the right side of her chest. In fact, the one on her face had swollen her eye completely shut, and it made Sylas worry if it had wormed its way into her brain.
If that was the case, she might truly be finished.
Sylas stuffed the cancer Gene back into the Clandestine Ape. It was a bit more warped and twisted than before, seemingly having lost some of its form, but he didn't have the time or attention to spare for it.
He pressed a hand against Nosphaleen's body, checking the situation of her Genes and making sure that he didn't miss anything.
After ensuring that everything seemed fine, he began to take out several transmuted Pills from none other than the Arctic King Bears and Cobras.
Sylas had no interest in trying to rear so many beasts, at least not in this circumstance. So he had taken advantage of the fact they tried to kill him when he returned to stash more than just a few of these pills.
They were filled to the brim with life and vitality, and although Nosphaleen didn't have an Ice-Poison affinity, given the fact she was just fine in the Dungeon, she should be able to withstand it.
He stuffed the first pill into her mouth and watched, his hand still pressed against her body. His worry was that if he fed her such a pill, most of the energy would end up going to the cancer and make things worse, not better.
Luckily, that wasn't the case.

Sylas ignored the notifications, having already expected as much. What he was far more fascinated by was the receding of the cancer.
It was hard to imagine it, but technically speaking… didn't he have the cure for cancer in the palm of his hands? Let alone the cure for it, he had the ability to inflict malignant cancer onto people.
This world…
The more he learned about it, the more in awe he was.
Sylas fed Nosphaleen another pill, and then another.
Soon, the cancerous growths began to fall off her body like peeling skin. It was a grotesque sight, but a necessary one.
In just an hour, and with the cost of basically all his accumulated nutrition pills, she was back.
Her eyes fluttered open with a hint of surprise and she shot up, her eyes darting from side to side until she saw Sylas.
"You… Sylas?"
She barely remembered his name, only having caught a glimpse of it before. But it was hard to forget the name of the man who had taken her out of that hell-hole.
Sylas nodded. "I've taken you out of there."
Nosphaleen looked around again as though she didn't quite believe. It wasn't as though a dingy cave was much better. But when she felt the lack of restrictions, tears began to subconsciously brim in her eyes.
