Nian Xi frowned. “You should manage your money yourself. How could you leave all your money to someone without ever checking in or asking about it?”

She had seen many people get into disputes about money–brothers, even parents. No one was immune to money problems.

Of course, she couldn’t be as direct as she would have preferred. After all, they had only just started dating.

“Oh, okay.” Jiang Yuning nodded his head obediently. “I’ll leave the money to you then.”

“I’ll call and ask how much money you have in here then.” Nian Xi called the bank and keyed in the password.

After waiting for a while, she was thunderstruck when she heard the number. Wowww! She put her phone down and sat there in total shock, trying to gather her thoughts.

“What’s the matter? Is there no money left?” Jiang Yuning was anxious as he watched her. Would he still be able to buy a house without any money?

“…”

Nian Xi tapped him on the shoulder; she was quiet for a while before saying, “There are billions in there. Tell me how on earth do you have so much money? Do you earn it from patents or research?”

They were both serving their country but in different ways. It was infuriating when she compared herself to him.

“There’s so much money?’ Jiang Yuning was surprised too. “I didn’t think I’d earned so much.”

“…”

Nian Xi felt like crying. She was holding a precious card in her hands. She had never held anything so valuable in her life.

“I think you should call your cousin and check,” Nian Xi suggested.

“Okay. Jiang Yuning nodded his head and turned to call Yuanlang. “Brother, this is Yuning… I have a lot of money on my card… Oh… I understand… thank you.”

After he hung up, Jiang Yuning turned and said, “My cousin said he invested my money in an overseas company a few years ago. The company was listed publicly, and its stock rocketed. He told me that a portion of the money hadn’t transferred over yet. He’s putting it into a bio-eco project. The profits will be high, but he says it’s going to take a while, at least a year.”

“…”

Nian Xi put her hand on her forehead, trying to steady herself. “I didn’t know you had such a capable cousin. I think you should continue leaving your money with him. Blood ties would never be broken, not even by money.”

“I think so too.” Jiang Yuning nodded his head.

“Oh, right. What’s your cousin’s name? I should be able to search for him online.” Nian Xi was bursting with curiosity.

“Xuan Yuanlang.”

Nian Xi quickly searched him up on her phone; it was crazy.

Although he was a young guy, he was already like Warren Buffett. The most shocking thing she read was that he earned his first pot of gold when he was still in university, and he’s been a legend ever since. He was a superb financial investor.

“Your cousin is very… impressive,” Nian Xi stammered.

“Oh? I didn’t know.” Jiang Yuning turned to get the duvet from the closet.

Nian Xi wiped her sweat. “Why did you leave your money with him then if you didn’t know that?”

“My mother told me that my money is just sitting around doing nothing and that I should hand it over to him,” Jiang Yuning said casually.

Nian Xi sighed as she looked up at the ceiling. She lay there, fretful. Finally, she decided to call her brother. “Brother, I have 10,000 dollars in savings. You’re so good with investment banking, do you think you can turn my savings into a million dollars?”

“I can’t.” Nian Junting refused her without hesitation. “Our family is wealthy. Do you need a million dollars?”

“I do, I do, I do.” Nian Xi inhaled deeply several times.
