Little Apple blinked several times, and he pouted as he turned around and hugged Luosang’s thighs. He burst into tears as he wailed, “Mama, Papa is bullying… little baby!”

Nian Junting laughed. “How am I bullying you? I didn’t curse at all when I scolded you. You didn’t manage to learn how to speak English, but you sure know how to complain! As a man, no matter how tough it gets, you have to stay strong and steadfast like steel.”

Luosang placed her son onto her lap, before instinctively rolling her eyes at Nian Junting. “Look at how young he is! He’s just a little over one! It’s already impressive that he can speak so much, so how can you expect him to speak English? Do you know what you’re doing? You’re submitting to western supremacy. Do you want me to tell your grandfather about this?”

The old man hated the westerners and their behavior. Nian Junting abruptly fell silent.

After being speechless from what Luosang had said for a while, he suddenly replied, “Luoluo, you’re right. However, as a boy, he must be strong and resilient. I’ve decided that I’ll send him to train in martial arts when he turns three, and then he’ll attend swimming classes at night. Additionally, I’ll send him to the army when he turns 18. I’ve always wanted to contribute to the country in some way, but I can’t because of my physical limitations. Son, I don’t expect you to become a Senior General, but you must at least become a lieutenant.”

Little Apple looked puzzled.

Luosang sighed. It would tire their son out if he tried to carry all of his father’s aspirations on his back.

Noticing that Luosang said nothing, Nian Junting pursed his lips and added, “Alright, fine! Even if you can’t do all of these things, you must at least be filial to your parents. That’s the least you can do as a man! Forget about your old man, but you must be good to your mother! If your father dies and leaves your mother alone, you must take care of her!”

“What nonsense are you spouting?” Luosang quickly covered his mouth, visibly upset.

Nian Junting frowned and sighed. “I’m not spouting nonsense. I’m so much older than you that by the time I hit my seventies, you would only be 60. You can never tell what’s going to happen with these things, so I just want to play safe. Therefore, I have to educate our son well.”

“That won’t happen!” Luosang felt dejected thinking about his words, so she tried to convince both of them.

“Luoluo, you’ll miss me, right?” Nian Junting hugged her tightly, touched by her reaction.

Luosang smiled and replied, “There’s a saying that goes, ‘Villains often enjoy long lives.'”

Nian Junting’s expression changed, and he playfully bit her lips.

Little Apple looked up with his naive eyes. His father was bullying his mother again. To him, he was eating her lips.

He then angrily tugged on Nian Junting’s robes.

Just as the family of three was about to get into another squabble, the phone rang.

Luosang pushed him away and looked over at his phone. “Why would Feng Jichuan call you at this hour?”

“Is it Xiao Si? He has been in a foul mood recently because of his fight with Ji Nuanyi. He has been spending a lot of time at the bars,” Nian Junting remarked as he picked up his phone.

“Junting, come over to the hospital now. Nian Xi suffered a gunshot injury on duty.” Feng Jichuan’s voice was hoarse over the line.

Nian Junting stood up immediately, and his face fell.

“Nian Xi’s team organized a stakeout on a serial killer in Nanshan, but the killer was sly and crafty. He was hiding in the cave with a gun, and Nian Xi took a shot in her thigh. She’s been sent to the hospital now, and I’m on my way there too,” Feng Jichuan said in a hurry.

“I’ll make my way there immediately!” Nian Junting put on his coat swiftly after he hung up

“I’ll go there with you!” Luosang stood up as well, and she handed the child over to Sister Lan. The two of them made their way to the hospital by car.

On their way there, Nian Junting called his parents to update them. This prompted Luosang to update Jiang Yuning as well, but he did not pick up.

“Who are you calling?” Nian Junting asked.

“Jiang Yuning, but he’s not picking up,” Luosang answered with a frown. “He may be asleep at this hour.”
