Chapter 717: Electric Current, Connected, Physics Reaction

He removed his jacket, revealing a white T-shirt underneath. Before he could lift the hem of his shirt to remove it, Nian Xi stopped him. “You don’t need to take off your shirt.”

Jiang Yuning nodded and lifted the shirt to reveal his back.

His back was skinny and fair, like it belonged to someone who stayed indoors most of the time. It was weirdly pale, but now it was adorned with red patches tainting the blank canvas. She touched the red marks with her fingers, and he flinched.

“Painful?” Nian Xi felt bad. If the chair had landed on her, it could have seriously injured her. She was a girl, after all.

Jiang Yuning turned to look at her, his eyes reflecting hurt and protest. After a while, he wrote, “Ticklish.”

Nian Xi was stunned. Why would it be ticklish? Was he easily tickled?

He wrote again, “Tingling.”

She was silent.

He flipped his notepad to write, “Electric current, connected, physics reaction.”

She said nothing. She was blushing now.

What on earth? What physics reaction was he talking about? This was more like a biological reaction.

In conclusion, he’d felt a surge of electricity course through his body. Wasn’t that like a scene from a romance novel?

She coughed lightly. “You’re injured. Let me apply some ointment for you. I have some in the office.”

They often had minor scrapes and cuts at the station, so they were well equipped.

Nian Xi retrieved the ointment and gestured towards Xiao Li. “Come. Apply this for him.”

Instead of walking over, Xiao Li shouted from a distance, “He doesn’t even want me to look at him. Would he allow me to apply it for him?”

Everyone else in the rest area burst into laughter.

Jiang Yuning raised a Post-It note to her face. “I’ll only let you touch me.”

She didn’t reply. Touch? Who cared about touching him?

She had no choice but to oblige, since he’d gotten injured because of her. She brought him into her office and squeezed a dollop of ointment onto her palms. She proceeded to rub it on his wounds forcefully.

Jiang Yuning lowered his head and didn’t make a sound.

As she continued to apply the ointment, her eyes couldn’t help but rove over the rest of his body. His spine was delicate and elegant, unlike most men at the police station. Whenever her colleagues changed in front of her, she could see their fat bellies and their thick necks. It was not a good look.

She had seen Feng Jichuan’s torso before, too. He was muscular and sturdy, and his copper skin and scars made him look like a real man. She used to think that made him look even stronger and manlier than he was, but it was the first time that she’d appreciated an elegant body like this. Especially his waist—he was skinny, lean, without a single fold of fat.

She allowed her eyes to roam further down. Although he was covered with his black tracksuit, she could still make out his perky buttocks. She hadn’t expected him to be so curvy.

Nian Xi recalled the time she’d touched him there. Damn… It was so soft.

Just as she was thinking about what had happened then, Jiang Yuning suddenly turned, and her hands landed on his chest unknowingly. His chest was oddly muscular, and she felt the contours beneath her palms.

Nian Xi’s mouth hung open. She had never touched a man’s chest before. She’d never even touched Feng Jichuan’s chest when they were still together. She was too shy to do that.

Jiang Yuning was stunned as well. He looked down at her hands on his chest.

Her hands were a little rough with bits of calluses, probably because she used guns. With her hands on his chest, he felt the surge of electricity course through his body again.

There was that same bubbling heat in the pit of his stomach as when she’d touched him the last time.
