chapter-164
Separate Units
The Principal asked me to save Rosenheim, and I agreed.
Then, a whole day passed.
We have started to make preparations to go to Rosenheim.
They told me that they had already prepared food and other necessary supplies, but there are other things that I need. When I think that I may not be able to come back to this city where I spent less than two years, I feel something deeply moving. I don’t think there are absolutes in war, and there is no guarantee that we will win.
Most of the inhabitants of this city do not know about the Demon King and go about their daily lives unchanged.
I don’t want them to know about it in future either.
Kiel told his sister Nina and the servants what had happened. Nina was quite shocked, but she tearfully asked him to come back safely.
Nina and her servants would be taken care of by the Hamilton Family, although this was about a year earlier than planned.
As for me, I plan to fight a short battle, but there is a good chance that the enemy will conduct a guerrilla-style operation and the battle will be prolonged.
After I left the Principal’s office, I told Rifol what had happened and he agreed to take Nina and the others back to the Hamilton Family mansion as soon as possible.“We are friends, aren’t we Allen. It’s no problem at all.”
But considering all the things I’ve learned from him in the past two years, I don’t mind owing him that much.
Right now, I am on the outskirts of the Academy city.
I open my Grimoire to check the status, special skills, and awakened skills of the B-rank summon, who I can now summon after reaching <Summon> Level 7.

“And so, we should kill the magical beasts called the Demon King’s Army, right?”
A woman with blond hair and in her early teens is talking to me.
The one whose body is a little transparent, floating in the air and using noisy language is B-rank Spirit.
“Yes, only magical beasts. There are probably quite a few human soldiers there, but don’t touch them, even if they attack you.”
“Yes, sir.”
I want to send my summons to fight on the front lines in the northern part of the Central Continent, hoping that they can be of some help against the 2 million-strong Demon King’s army, and to learn about the war situation in the northern part of the Central Continent.
If the Ghiamut Empire falls, the next battlefield will be the Latash Kingdom.
I don’t think that a dozen or so summons can change the war situation, but if I know the war situation, I can respond faster afterwards. I don’t want to be so unprepared that I have to go to Rosenheim to fight with just one day to prepare.
“Gichic Gichi”
“I’m sorry, Alipon, but the battlefield in the northern part of the Central Continent is too far away. I can’t let you go there because a month will pass just traveling. You’ll have to be active in Rosenheim, so do your best.”
B-rank Insect is concussed so I pat him on the head to quiet him down.
Summons have a one month time limit. There are many things that they can do in that one month, such as staying in the dungeon, going to the city of Granvelle as a liaison, and helping to develop the village of Rodan. This time, however, they have to travel from the south to the very north of the vast Empire.
I amplanning to send only my summons that can fly this time.
- 2 E-rank Birds
- 2 D-rank Birds
- 5 B-rank Spirits
- 5 B-rank Dragons
(I want them to scout, fight and gather information against the Demon King’s army. I should give them some recovery medicine as well.)
“Yeah, I want as much information as possible when it comes to magical beasts and the Demon King.”
(I’ve looked into it, but there’s very little information about the Demon King. I’d at least like to know how strong the Demon King is.)
“I understand. Let’s see what we can find out.”
B-rank Dragon answers on their behalf.
From the information I got from the Principal and the homeroom teacher, the Demon King’s army also has generals.
My friends know about this operation, but not to the Principal. The main reason is that there is no need to give him any more information than necessary. Besides, I can’t fully trust the Principal who didn’t immediately tell me about the withdrawal of the elven troops.
“Then go. I might send you some backup once I get a feel for the battlefield, but don’t get your hopes up too high.”
“I’m going to kill them,~Death.”
“Oh, I’ll burn them down.”
The B-rank Spirit and B-rank Dragon, who can speak, reply. Then, they fly in a single mass with shared vision and begin to fly northward across the Central Continent.
“Sorry for the wait.”
“Allen, are you done?”
“Oh, Kurena. Yes.”
We are currently in front of a 100-meter-class high-speed Magic ship.
The hundreds of elves who had arrived in the Academy City to return back to Rosenhiem seem anxious.
Sophie is going around saying, “Don’t worry, we have Master Allen.,” in an encouraging voice that I don’t understand.
I look at Kiel and see that he is about to say goodbye to Nina and the servants for the last time, but he seems to be having some trouble with the oldest servant.
Kiel is trying to give them some money but the servant is refusing. After a bit of back and forth the servant accepted the money saing that he would use it for Nina.
“Are you sure?”
“About what?”
I ask Dogora. I think Dogora will be in the most danger on the battlefield. He is the vanguard after all.
(Well, he is stronger than B-rank summons.)
There are things that my friends have that summons don’t.
It’s weapons and armor. He wears adamantite weapons and armor.
So I don’t think he’ll lose or die so easily.
However, it seems that there are more enemies than just Dragons in this battle.
“You don’t have to come with us, okay?”
I ask Dogora if he really wants to go to the battlefield or if he is being carried away.
“What the hell are you talking about? His Majesty the King wrote my name on the order as well. How can I refuse? I should be rewarded handsomely for my performance on the battlefield.”
Dogora chuckled and replied in a way that sounded somewhat like something I would say.
“Yeah, you’re right. Then, I entrust the vanguard to you and Kurena.”
“Naturally, leader.”
With that, Dogora gripped the axe on his shoulder tightly.
(First, the city of Nest!)
We are going to ride on this Magic Ship and our destination is a city called Nest in the southernmost part of Rosenheim. The trip is going to take four days.
“Looks like we’re good to go. Let’s go, everyone.”
“”Oh!””
Allen and the others set out for Rosenheim.
