I Am the Fated Villain
chapter-311

“This…” All the young prodigies who had hurried over couldn’t help but gawk at the scene before them. In fact, they wouldn’t have noticed the commotion and rushed over here if it wasn’t for the fearsome power that suddenly pierced the sky, beaming everywhere before it scattered a large chunk of the fog made up of bone biting Yin Energy.

They were not that fast as this place was big, and the location of this shocking scene was extremely far from where they were at. Similarly, A lot of these young prodigies did not possess heightened senses like Gu Changge and the other Ranked Disciples. Likewise, they did not possess their strength. Thus, the effects of the Yin Energy was a concern to them.

The young prodigies who had come not only had to keep an eye out for the Successor of Demonic Arts, they also had to kill Eternal Overcast creatures that attacked them. This caused them to be slow, as they were already so preoccupied they couldn’t bother about much else.

Nonetheless, once they reached the explosive like, they saw the figure of a young man standing firmly under the sky. With hair as black as ink, eyes as deep as the seas, with whole body radiating an otherworldly glow, he seemed like an Immortal God surrounded by colourful heavenly light. Around him was the swirling energy of the Great Dao, intertwined with World Principles, making him seem like he was the centre of the entire world. A strong and unparalleled figure.

However, something about him stood out in contrast, which was the shocking injury on him. It had almost dyed his whole robe red with blood.

Many young prodigies froze in place because they were startled by the sight. They could even feel goosebumps up their scalps. None of them could believe that they were looking at Gu Changge. They couldn’t help but wonder just how terrible a fight he had had to go through for such an otherworldly, almost-perfect man without a flaw, to look like this now.

“Gu Changgge…” Gu Xianer muttered in disbelief. She was also among those who were just standing there in a daze. The Gu Changge from her memories had always been strong, confident, without flaw, and unperturbed. He had always looked as though he could easily handle everything, even if the sky were to fall. In fact, Gu Xianer’s last memory of him being actually injured was from a long time ago.

It was back when he was in the Celestial Ancient Continent, he had been hit hard by the Successor of Demonic Arts and hurt his Source in order to rescue Yin Mei. Coincidentally, his injuries today were because of the Successor of Demonic Arts as well. On top of that, he was more gravely injured this time than in the past. Even from this distance, she could see how pale his face was and the rapid dissipation of his life force. She could clearly see that something was devastatingly wrong with him now. With his extremely weak vitality and lack of blood, he was entirely holding on with the help of his Forbidden Technique.

This saddened Gu Xian’er, who felt as if her heart was tightening in her chest. Her dainty fists unknowingly clenched at the thought of killing the Successor of Demonic Arts. [So, he can get injured like this too. He’s not as invincible as I thought he is…]

*Rumble* The sky trembled as countless Principles were interwoven with each other, forming what seemed to be an ocean. A multicoloured glow then shot out from the crown of his head at the next moment before it morphed into a dragon and formed into a Golden Decree. When this dragon came alive, a buzzing sound was heard.

Hundreds of millions of dazzling divine lights shot out of it. It was so splendid it was impossible to not get one’s eyes rooted to the scene.

In the eyes of the many young prodigies who came, the scene was like a sun that lit up the entire world. There wasn’t a place that the rays of the sun didn’t reach. Even the most terrifying Yin Energy was quickly dissipating and disappearing like the melting of ice and snow.

There were many onlookers who didn’t dare directly look at the glow, as it was too painfully bright for their eyes. It hurt to the point of having them shed tears even with their eyes closed.

*Rumble* The Golden Decree lifted into the sky. Many glowing swords formed, like stars in the galaxy which trembled and all combined into a majestic and vast blade before suddenly slashing into the void.

Accompanied by a few muffled hums, the Grand Runes finally swiftly collapsed.

The void didn’t stop breaking open after that, as a terrifying and dreadful crack had appeared. In the blind of an eye, it had already spread out over thousands of kilometres before anyone knew.

However, even though such a frightening force had burst out, that even caused the sky to be submerged and covered in its might, the Successor of Demonic Arts had still made his escape by swiftly disappearing with his four underlings in the Sacred Lord Realm.

Everyone was in shock after witnessing all this.

Chosen Monk Jin Chan, who was recuperating in the distance, returned to his peaceful and unwavering image in front of the rest. He chanted the Buddha scriptures without saying anything else.

In his opinion, Gu Changge not only wanted to deter the Successor of Demonic Arts by showing such strength at a critical time, he feared Gu Changge also did it to improve his own prestige.

“Chasing prestige…” He couldn’t help shaking his head slightly. He couldn’t understand why Gu Changge chose to use such a method. If he had failed to control either one when he used up his own Source, and Blood Essence, he would have caused his cultivation to stifle, which would cause him difficulties in breaking through to the next realm.

At this moment, a black fog surged, and there were only the remaining fluctuations between heaven and earth that let everyone know what had happened here.

This kind of world-shattering battle would be hard to survive even for Sacred Lord Realm experts. Every inch of space here was still filled with an air that made one’s soul tremble, and freeze as it seeped into their bodies and souls.

[What a pity. We didn’t get to do anything. We might have been able to do something if we had come earlier…] Many people thought it regretful that they were not able to take down the Successor of Demonic Arts, as he had fled as soon as they arrived.

However, they were aware that even the powerful ancient monstrosities familiar with Space Principles wouldn’t be able to intercept the Successor of Demonic Arts in this situation. Furthermore, the Successor of Demonic Arts having the courage to plot against so many young prodigies could only mean that he had arranged everything long before today. Thus, it only made sense of him to prepare an escape route using Space Principles.

Nonetheless, there were also a handful of young prodigies who felt relieved. They had already experienced the power of the Successor of Demonic Arts, which was why they were now glad to still be alive. They didn’t think they would be able to get rid of the Successor of Demonic Arts any time soon from the start.

At this point, someone soon noticed something strange.

Even though the battle had been petrifying, and even the lingering air itself was enough to make one’s heart pound, there was one person missing from the scene, Prince Shen!

“Why are Young Master Changge and Chosen Monk Jin Chan the only two present? Where is Prince Shen?” A young prodigy from the Ancient Royal Family was somewhat puzzled as his eyes swept across the place, only to not find a trace of Prince Shen.

“Indeed! I remember that Chosen Monk Jin Chan and Prince Shen were the ones who came here first before Young Master Changge did. Could it be that…” Another had his blood drain from his face as he stopped mid-sentence.

Prince Shen’s army of followers, Ying Yu included, started to panic. Filled with unease, they began to inquire around.

“The Prince’s aura has completely disappeared,” the Phoenix Lady solemnly said. “If my guess is right, I am afraid Prince Shen has already met his end.”

Small Celestial Phoenix runes flashing in her eyes, which looked like tiny Celestial Phoenixes dancing around her.

Prince Shen’s followers’ faces all fell after they heard her words. They had all turned pale in an instant. They found it hard to believe that this was real. The bolt out the blue drained the strength out of their legs, making it hard for them to stand.

Meanwhile, the young prodigies who were looking on from the side were also horrified beyond belief.

“Prince Shen’s aura has indeed disappeared. He is most likely dead. I didn’t think this would be his end.”

“I wonder how Sky Emperor Mountain would handle this, knowing Prince Shen’s death was caused by their former Prince Ying.” The King with Six Crowns hummed with a nod.

His tone took an intrigued turn by the end of his sentence, and yet, his emotions didn’t change much. He didn’t seem to care about the gravity of the situation. Instead, he was curious to know how things had and would turn out.
