I Am the Fated Villain
chapter-370

After returning to Heavenly Ruin Gate, Gu Changge dismissed everyone, other than Yue Mingkong, who was by his side with a curious look in her eyes.

Meanwhile, the handyman, Jiang Chen, had disappeared into thin air.

For the entire Heavenly Ruin Gate, this was as insignificant as a speck of dust falling into the water; it wouldn’t even stir up a ripple and no one would notice it at all.

Even if the Head of Heavenly Ruin Gate or the rest had noticed that some disciples had disappeared, they wouldn’t dare to ask about it. After all, now was too critical a time for everyone.

In addition to the Ji Siblings, there was also Gu Changge at Heavenly Ruin Gate. There was no way such a small temple could accommodate a goliath figure like him. And so, life there was rather frightful for the disciples.

Now that it was only Gu Changge and Yue Mingkong here in the hall, she voiced out what she was curious about earlier. “You have finally gotten the Tower of World Domination, huh?”

It was hard for her to feel at ease if she didn’t get confirmation from the man.

“Sure did. It went smoothly. I didn’t encounter any unexpected trouble,” he smiled and waved a hand, making a miniature Tower of World Domination appear, floating in space the next moment.

The nine-storey building that looked like it was forged from Divine Gold, beaming with a golden glow as Mist of Chaos dripped from it. There was a mysterious aura coming out from it that seemed to be able to suppress the Six Paths of Reincarnation and all of Heaven.

The rumours were true. The Tower of World Domination did have the power to suppress the world. Under its mighty power, any being would disappear in a puff of smoke.

Yue Mingkong took a glance at it and nodded without asking anything else. With this, their trip had come to the perfect end.

The only thing was that for a woman with a strong character like herself, she couldn’t help feeling a slight disappointment at how she hadn’t done anything. She basically only accompanied Gu Changge here before watching him obtain the Tower of World Domination without her having to lift a finger.

“What’s the matter? Why do you look all grumpy when your fiance has easily gotten the Tower of World Domination?” Seeing the look on her face, he couldn’t help but chuckle and tease her, “This isn’t like you.”

Yue Mingkong only glanced at him and stated, “I am just thinking about how useless I have been. I didn’t help you with anything.”

Gu Changge was taken by surprise at how straightforward she was being.

Despite her words, Gu Changge would have spent a lot of effort to find the place where the Tower of World Domination would appear if it wasn’t for Yue Mingkong. In addition, the Mirror of World Domination and Seal of World Domination were all given to him by Yue Mingkong after she found them. He couldn’t imagine how difficult it must have been for her to get two Tools of World Domination, when obtaining just one was no walk in the park.

Even though she was a regressor, she must have spent a lot of money and effort into finding the two artifacts.

“If you are useless, the rest of the world would have to be worse than useless.” Thinking of this, Gu Changge smiled and gently pulled her into his arms. “There is something else that you were wrong about. It is not like you didn’t help at all.”

The corners of her lip curled into a small smile when she heard his words. She was already in a much better mood as she gazed at him and asked, “And what did I help you with?”

“You warm my bed,” he chuckled.

The woman’s smile immediately went stiff as she glared at him. A fog suddenly rose to cover her beautiful face, and she struggled out of his arms before she transformed into a divine rainbow that rushed into the sky.

“Okay then. I will have to get some other lady if you won’t do it, Mingkong.” Gu Changge kept the Tower of World Domination and walked out of the hall, the smile still hanging on his lips. “I only need to say the word anyway. The women who want to warm my bed would probably make a line all the way to the Immortal Academy from here.”

“Try it.” Yue Mingkong’s sleek eyebrows became sharp. Even though she was now high in the sky, she hadn’t gone far. Her expression turned cold and murderous the moment she heard his words.

The more she thought about what he said, the more she lost her temper.

In a fit of rage, she swung a palm that was as white and fair as a beam of moonlight. It was bright and beautiful, but also powerful and domineering with an unparalleled bearing as it descended from the sky.

Gu Changge only smiled and took a step out of the hall.

Unlike him, who easily dodged the palm, the palace behind him collapsed with a bang, and the dazzling brilliance was reduced to ashes in that instant.

Not only that, even the top of the mountain where he was now was cut off in half by Yue Mingkong’s palm. As it broke from the middle, smoke and dust shot up into the sky.

The unexpected commotion in the middle of the night instantly alarmed everyone in Heavenly Ruin Gate.

A group of Elders and disciples soon came out to watch this scene in fear and shock from a distance. Even the Ji Siblings had rushed over, and were looking with wide eyes, completely astonished.

They thought that someone suddenly attacked in the middle of the night, but it turned out that there was a spat between Gu Changge and Yue Mingkong.

The Ji Siblings were not aware of what Yue Mingkong was capable of. After all, she had never launched an attack nor shown her skills in front of them before. But now that they were watching her, they were amazed by how much stronger she was than they had expected.

On the other hand, Gu Changge, Yue Mingkong, and their followers were calm. They had witnessed such a scene too many times.

[Is this how their relationship works?] As Ji Chuyue thought silently to herself, she felt an unexplainable feeling of envy hit her.

However, Gu Changge might be the only man from the younger generation who could restrain Yue Mingkong. The rest of the young prodigies would end up crippled even if they weren’t killed after being hit by her palm.

After figuring out what was the reason for their spat, the crowd hurriedly dispersed as they didn’t dare stay any longer. They knew that it was better for them not to watch something like this.

“Are you trying to make us a joke in front of other people?” Gu Changge nonchalantly asked with a smile. He had no care for their surroundings.

Yue Mingkong gave him a cold look. “Enough with your nonsense. You have to let me win today!”

After saying that, she slapped her palm down again, releasing a bright light as runes intertwined. There was an aura of the Great Dao permeating the air. A vague, peerless figure could be seen emerging behind her.

As the figure’s hair fluttered, the figure seemed to be able to easily pass through the cycles of reincarnation and the River of Time. It felt so powerful it was as if an Empress overlooking the heavens was about to descend from it.

“Alright, alright. You win, okay?”

Gu Changge shrugged helplessly. After he said that, his sleeves shook, and a terrifying power shot out as the world seemed to get sucked into his palms, leaving only darkness behind. The big sleeves fluttered as though his palm contained the void, and an endless darkness swallowed Yue Mingkong.

In an instant, Yue Mingkong’s beautiful face paled, and she quickly backed away. Gu Changge’s sleeves had basically became a container for heaven and earth, engulfing the sun and moon, and sucking everything away.

Although her cultivation level was high, there was still a big gap between her and Gu Changge. She couldn’t even retreat far before she was engulfed.

“You are too shameless, Gu Changge! You fraud! Let me out!” she growled from between teeth, her voice laced with cold fury.

He laughed, not feeling like he was bullying her at all. “Fraud? I am letting you win now, aren’t I?”

“Jerk,” she hissed.

In the next moment, a terrifying sword-like beam appeared. An unrivalled aura rose and fell as the void exploded with a bang, creating a dazzling flash blooming between heaven and earth.

A light and peerless Sword Flower, with gorgeous layers and unparalleled sharpness appeared. The terrifying thing suddenly pierced through Gu Changge’s sleeve. From this opening, Yue Mingkong took the chance to escape while holding a crystal clear and slender sword in her delicate hand.

Seeing Gu Changge’s slightly stunned expression, she couldn’t help the twitch the corners of her lips as her mood got better.

“Alright, I admit defeat!” Gu Changge didn’t expect Yue Mingkong to break through his suppression so easily. He was slightly startled at first, but after recovering from his shock, he couldn’t help smiling and choosing to surrender when he saw that she was about to charge at him again.

“No can do.” Yue Mingkong glanced at him, her long sword piercing through as her hair fluttered. Her heroic appearance looked as if she could split the sky with a single swing. “I am not going to let it end that easily.”

“I won’t fight with you anymore. If you come at me again, you will be murdering your own precious fiance.” He had a smile on as he smugly looked at her. It wasn’t like she could do anything if he refused to attack her or defend himself.

Hearing that, Yue Mingkong snorted and took back her sword, her anger just now was gone by a whole lot.

She didn’t intend to continue to fight anymore at this point. After all, it was rare that she could take advantage of Gu Changge. She would definitely get the shorter end of the stick if she continued to fight him.

“I haven’t seen you display your skill in a long time, but you have improved a lot. You caught me off guard,” he couldn’t help praising her.

She looked at him. [I have been cultivating hard after all.]

However, she didn’t let him know her thoughts. She might not be able to see him anymore if she hadn’t kept it to herself. After all, he might grow bored of her if things always go as he thought.

Afterwards, Heavenly Ruin Gate finally calmed down. All the fearful disciples and Elders also heaved a sigh of relief. They were afraid the place would be torn to pieces by the fighting couple.

As for the ruined top of the mountain and the palace, it was natural that Gu Changge’s followers would pay for it. After all, Gu Changge wasn’t a tyrant – at least in the eyes of the public.

Gu Changge would be getting the Tower of World Domination and Wheel of World Domination, which the Ji Family would be sending over, over the next few days. Because of that, he wasn’t in a hurry to get the last Tool of World Domination, the Sword.

In the past few days, there has been a lot of commotion in the outside world because of the fact that the purple mountains appeared and collapsed into ashes overnight. Many had rushed over to obtain clues and investigate what had transpired. However, since the purple mountains was densely covered with all kinds of terrifying arrays. Even a being in the Sacred Realm had to be cautious if it were to enter what remained of the mountain.

Because of that, no one found anything odd about it. Many people also speculated that everything that happened in the purple mountains was probably related to the appearance of the Tower of World Domination. Unfortunately, the current location of the Tower of World Domination had become nothing more than mere speculation.

There were people who guessed that Gu Changge possessed it now. Still, no one was brave enough to ask him about it. After all, even if they did know, who would dare try to steal it from him?

Meanwhile, Gu Changge wasn’t worried that the Ji Siblings, Chen Ning’er and the others would tell anyone. They were tight-lipped, as they should be else the consequence. Though, in the first place, it wasn’t as though he was reluctant to let others find out that he had the Tower of World Domination.

After Gu Changge and Yue Mingkong were finally ‘reconciled’, they parted ways.

Yue Mingkong returned to Immortal Academy, whereas Gu Changge took the Celestial Jade Platform with him.

He intended to return to Gu Family Residence first while he waited for the Ji Family to send the Wheel of World Domination over.

In addition, Gu Changge had to go through the ancient books before anything regarding Little Wang Yue. Even though this child was a Celestial Beast, there were too few relevant records because something like this had only appeared in the Upper Realm a handful of times.

He had told Yue Mingkong about the Celestial Beast, but she didn’t really care to know about it.

Compared to the Celestial Beast, she wanted to know who Xiao Ruoyin was, whom Jiang Chen had mentioned earlier.

Gu Changge had nothing to hide. So, he told her most of it. He only left out who Xiao Ruoyin was in her previous life. Thus, Yue Mingkong, after getting the answer she wanted, and with a slight curl at the corners of her mouth, she left with her group of followers in a good mood.

Before leaving Heavenly Ruin Gate, Gu Changge gave Chen Ning’er a Communication Rune, saying that she could use it to contact him if she encountered any troubles in the future. Of course, he wouldn’t necessarily have the time to help them solve their problems even if she were to contact him.

Chen Ning’er and the rest of the Chen Family were naturally overjoyed, and they even carefully put away the Communication Rune as if they had found a treasure.

At the same time, a young man slowly woke up in a dark and damp cave. However, the physical pain that made him turn pale and gasp for air was so intense he almost passed out from it again.

An old man in a black robe was sluggishly sitting cross-legged on one side, his body covered in black wisps of air. He seemed to be healing his wounds.

Hearing the sound, he opened his eyes and asked in a calm voice, “Are you awake?”

“Senior Black, we managed to escape.”

The young man was Jiang Chen, who had escaped from the purple mountains. His complexion was still sickly when he took in his surroundings.

The last thing he remembered was Gu Changge coldly thrusting his palm at him, and right before he had lost consciousness, it was the gravely injured Senior Black who rescued him.

Unfortunately, Senior Black himself seemed to have sustained too heavy an impact his whole body almost shattered.

“We escaped, but Gu Changge’s attack was too powerful. Even though I protected you, you were almost killed by the after-shock. Still, Gu Changge seemed to have underestimated you. I wouldn’t have been able to save you otherwise. You sure are one lucky guy. You knocked on Hell’s door just to come back alive,” Senior Black hummed, his condition didn’t look any better than that of Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen still felt unsettled when he heard the words, but he soon smiled wryly. “You have saved my life again, Senior Back. I will never be able to repay your great kindness.”

As he spoke, he finally realised that he was seriously injured, and had quite a number of broken bones. His internal organs all throbbed when he spoke. It was as though he had been torn apart alive. In fact, he knew if Senior Black hadn’t saved him, he would have turned into a bloody paste under that palm, and his body and soul would have immediately perished.

Just the thought of this brought upon a look of deep hatred to his face.

Black-Robed Elder scoffed, “Enough with all that empty talk. You wouldn’t have ended up in this situation if you had listened to me.”

“What should we do now, Senior Black?”

Jiang Chen was now treating Black-Robed Elder as someone he had complete faith in. Black-Robed Elder had saved his life time and time again, and had even gotten on Gu Changge’s bad side for him. He hadn’t abandoned Jiang Chen even at this point.

Were these all not behaviours that showed how much he should trust him?

“What should we do now, you ask? Of course we have to completely change our appearance and identity. It looks to me you are pretty capable when it comes to manipulating the mountains and rivers. You will do good at robbing graves.” Black-Robed Elder took a good look at Jiang Chen, and suddenly rubbed his chin as he suggested, “Be a grave robber.”

Jiang Chen’s complexion changed slightly when he heard that. He could tell that it wasn’t something honourable, but now, he seemed to truly have no other way. There was no place where the sun shone for him as long as he had made an enemy of Gu Changge.

[All I can be is a rat living in the dark from today onwards.] Thinking of this, Jiang Chen couldn’t help falling silent. He finally bit his teeth and growled, “I will listen to you, Senior Black. I am willing to do whatever you want me as long as it can make me stronger.”

Black-Robed Elder expressed his relief and reassured him, “You don’t have to worry about anything. In fact, grave robbery isn’t as shady a business as you think. I am telling you, the grave of many dead cultivators contain priceless treasures. If you are lucky enough to find the tomb of a True Daoist you can reverse the current situation in an instant.”

Hearing what he said, Jiang Chen nodded thoughtfully, as if grave robbery wasn’t that unacceptable.

Right then, the Artifact Spirit of the Celestial Boat of Creation in his mind tried to persuade him in a frantic voice. <You can’t agree with him! You will one day restore the glory to of the Immortal Palace in the future. You can’t be a grave robber!>

However, Jiang Chen no longer cared about what the Artifact Spirit had to say. After he understood how cruel the world could be, he now knew that power was the most important thing.

The Artifact Spirit of the Celestial Boat of Creation seemed to have lived a well-off life in the past, and it always had an overly self-righteous view of things. After tasting something sour after he kept listening to it, he knew better than to fully listen to the Artifact Spirit each and every time.

Afterwards, Jiang Chen followed Black-Robed Elder and left, formally embarking on his path to becoming a grave robber.

Under Gu Changge’s intentional guidance, Jiang Chen, the Fortuitous One, had already started to head in the darked direction without knowing it himself.

“So this is a Wang Yue, a Celestial Beast. It definitely isn’t as humongous as the rumours make it to be. I wonder if it will grow into that size when it becomes an adult?”

“This is the first time I have seen a Celestial Beast.”

“Only the Immortal Palace can rear such a beast even in the ever expansive Upper Realm back in those days. It seems that this is still a youngling.”

At this moment, the Elders in the majestic, a few hundred metre tall palace of the Gu Family Residence were in a circle. They were staring at the Celestial Jade Platform in the middle with looks of curiosity, doubt, and interest in their eyes.

The Celestial Jade Platform was hazy with thick celestial mist. Magnificent colours like stars could be seen intertwining among the floating, colourful clouds.

Little Wang Yue’s body looked as white as a bright moon, beautiful and slender. It had a pair of clear and big eyes like glass, and a thin, transparent tail. It didn’t seem frightened at all, being surrounded by many curious eyes. Instead, it was looking back at them with the same curiosity.

An older member of the Gu Family shook his head slightly, his eyes aflame. He had a rough idea of what had happened to Little Wang Yue, and his tone was tinged with regret when he sighed,

“It is indeed a Celestial Beast, Wang Yue. However, it seems to be a little congenitally deficient compared to what a young Wang Yue should be. It must have been given birth by its mother under difficult circumstances, and its mother had probably sacrificed her remaining lifespan to make up for its congenital deficiency.”

Unfortunately, Little Wang Yue seemed to understand the chatter. Its eyes were now dim as it lowered her head and lay quietly in the pond of the Platform.

“Congenital deficiency can be made up later in life. The legacy and bloodline of the Wang Yues have been imprinted in its soul when it was born. It has lived up till now, which is the most important thing. And, it will carry on living till the end.” Another Elder spoke up and expressed his opinions.
