I Am the Fated Villain
-
chapter-425
As Gu Changge slashed with his blade, its vast energy engulfed everything in existence.
While many formidable cultivators far away were still dwelling in fear and hopelessness, their bodies immediately exploded into bits and disintegrated
The terrifying blade energy menacingly plummeted from the sky, as if it could rip the entire world apart. In that instant, the entire Shen Family Residence was surrounded by the all-devastating might of the Nirvana Realm. None dared to imagine what the aftermath would be should the power fully erupt.
As mountains collapsed and turned into ashes, pavilions and palaces hit by the shockwave also crumbled into dust. Even the engraved arrays were instantaneously shattered as they were unable to sustain themselves.
That was the very power of a Nirvana Grade Artifact. Even though Gu Changge didn’t unleash its full strength, a trace of its aura was terrorising enough. Even those far away could feel that their bodies were about to blow apart.“A Nirvana Grade Artifact… Is he going to annihilate every soul here?”
The rampant aura left every face pale and every soul trembling. Cultivators uncontrollably fell to their knees. All these years, it was their first time witnessing the terror of a Nirvana Grade Artifact and how a trace of its energy penetrated the barriers of Heavenly Tide Realm to the outside of this world.
At that moment, Shen Xian’er, her parents, and the rest were dumbfounded. They never expected that even after Li Xiu revealed his true identity, Gu Changge had not cared about it in the slightest, He even annihilated the formidable cultivators that just hurried over. To their surprise, Gu Changge even carried a Nirvana Grade Artifact, sparing his enemies no chance of survival.
With just one swing of the blade, the enemies’ bodies exploded and disintegrated. Even one of them, a being in the Sacred King Realm, was shrieking in agony before turning into blood mist.
Such a sight was truly unnerving and traumatising. In fact, the beings that hurried over were all Ancestors of various forces in Heavenly Tide Realm that possessed long-lived legacies, and they were by no means weaker than the Shen Family. Yet, they were nothing but ants in Gu Changge’s eyes.
“Sister, has he always been like this?” Shen Xian’er peered at Gu Changge with a perturbed expression as she subconsciously asked Gu Xianer.
“Yes, he has always been a horrendous bully.” Gu Xianer’s eyes were fixated on Gu Changge as she nodded and answered without any hesitation.Prior to that, she had never seen this artifact currently in Gu Changge’s hands. That could only mean that he must have achieved a massive breakthrough in his cultivation and encountered some kind of great opportunity while he was at it.
Previously, she swore that she would take Gu Changge down right in front of him. However, that oath of hers seemed to have grown even further from her reach now. As such, she felt frustrated. Now that Gu Changge grew even stronger, she would be even more defenceless whenever he would bully her!
All this time, she had been intensively cultivating in an attempt to catch up to Gu Changge, but as she did so, she noticed that the disparity in strength between them only grew even larger. At this point, she couldn’t even see Gu Changge’s shadow anymore.
Hearing that, Shen Xian’er glanced at Gu Xianer, convinced that Gu Xianer had been telling the truth. It appeared Gu Changge was indeed trying to give all he could to make it up to Gu Xianer, which certainly changed Shen Xian’er’s impression of him.
Meanwhile, the members of the Shen Family remained silent in horror as they observed from far away. The Ancestor of the Shen Family could feel his soul shivering as if he finally experienced fear for the first time.
[That is the might of a Nirvana Grade Artifact…]
Given his current strength, let alone activating the Nirvana Grade Artifact, he wasn’t even capable of getting near to it. This clearly indicated that Gu Changge’s strength was immeasurably horrifying.
Unbothered by others’ thoughts, Gu Changge revealed subtle scorn on his face as he stepped on Li Xiu’s head. Watching the latter’s enraged, icy expression, he said, “I honestly love it when others pull off an act of bravado before me. Because every one of them always ended up like you. Stomped under my feet.”
“You’re good. It is my first time meeting someone like you.” As Li Xiu’s entire body was agonised by the excruciating pain, the Rune of Zhan on his forehead fell apart. There was no telling how many of his bones were broken, especially with how Gu Changge was stepping on his head. His face was shoved deep into mud, disallowing him from raising it up. The humiliation coldened his gaze. It was as though his body was about to explode.
Once upon a time, he was the almighty War Immortal that conquered the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains. His menacing brutality drove all lives to cower in fear. Even after his fall years ago, he remained as the irreplaceable War Immortal to this day.
Back then, his name instilled awe in anyone who heard it, and none dared to recklessly insult him. Yet…
“Master War Immortal…” The Sky Blade Ancestor, Saintess Yao Yue, and the rest, who luckily managed to flee far away, witnessed the entire event. In this instant, they felt nothing but absolute fright and anxiety.
Even the War Immortal himself fell under Gu Changge’s feet. Besides, Gu Changge was insistent on his will to slaughter all his enemies.
They were greatly affected by such apathy and ferocity, especially Saintess Yao Yue who was extremely remorseful. Had she known better, she wouldn’t have made those condescending remarks and things wouldn’t have turned out this way, nor would she have burdened her Sect.
“Oh, it’s your first time? Perhaps it is your last as well.” Gu Changge revealed a faint grin. As he stomped his feet, a spine-chilling sound of a cracking skull was heard.
Nevertheless, he controlled his force so as not to crush Li Xiu’s brain. After all, without the Rune of Zhan, Li Xiu was now nothing but a useless man that couldn’t display an ouch of might.
In fact, even without the Solar Heavenly Blade, Gu Changge could have effortlessly subdued Li Xiu. Nonetheless, considering that Li Xiu might have other unknown hands, he figured that he might as well use the Nirvana Grade Artifact to make his job easier. [As expected, once I took out a Nirvana Grade Artifact, Li Xiu immediately surrendered without hesitation.]
“Gu Changge, I’m warning you. Do not go too far.” There was nothing but shame and coldness in Li Xiu’s heart. His teeth fell out as Gu Changge stomped on him, and he was no longer as leisurely as he was before. At this moment, he appeared as hideous as a tormented ghost, given his bloodied body and unkempt hair.
As the almighty War Immortal, who ruled over countless followers and had not lost one war, he was a bloodthirsty demon in the eyes of the people of the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains. Never once had he imagined that he would ever live through such humiliation, where he was being stepped on right in front of everyone, unable to even lift his head.
The reason he wasn’t willing to reveal his identity was because he was worried that his foes from the past would engage him right away. In fact, his peril back then wasn’t coincidental, but it was a work of the alliance from the Upper Realm that drove him into an ambush in the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains. This was why he endured everything to this very day.
Unfortunately, right after he revealed himself to be the War Immortal, instead of receiving the respect and worship he expected, he was abysmally disgraced in the public eye. He had always thought that he couldn’t stoop to others’ level. Essentially, given his identity, doing that would only mar his social status. But now…
“Oh, what does my intolerableness mean to you?” Without any change in his expression, Gu Changge exerted more force on his feet.
At once, a painful scream could be heard across the region. Nonetheless, Li Xiu kept on enduring the torture, thanks to his unwavering will. No matter how much he was shamed, he didn’t want the embarrassment to grow any further.
However, Gu Changge did not allow his wish to come true. Followingly, a trace of grey spiritual energy flowed into Li Xiu’s head to prevent his brain from being crushed to bits.
Fascinated, Gu Changge noticed that although Li Xiu was enduring the pain, he was actually about to pass out. After all, Li Xiu was now merely an ordinary individual whose endurance against pain was very limited.
The next moment, as Gu Changge barely moved his feet, the cracking sound sounded once again.
Instantly, everyone’s faces blanched as they felt the chill up their spines. Gu Changge’s ruthlessness was indeed not to be measured by his appearance.
“Ah!” Nearing his limit, Li Xiu let out a tragic scream and his mouth was full of blood.
“Young man! You’d be wise to let go of Master War Immortal! Regardless of your possession of a Nirvana Grade Artifact and how exceptional your origin is, you should know that the War Immortal needs only to say a word and all his followers will come attacking! You are not even capable of imagining the War Immortal’s terror!” As the Ancestor of the Bi Family blanched, he spoke with a shaky voice. He couldn’t imagine that such a situation would ever happen on the almighty, domineering, invincible War Immortal. Repressing the fear in his heart, he attempted to taunt Gu Changge into releasing the War Immortal.
“You talking to me?” Gu Changge glanced at him interestedly.
“You—” In that instant, immense fear arose in the heart of the Ancestor of the Bi Family.
He was a formidable cultivator in the Sacred King Realm, but at this very second, he was violently shivering, as if he became an ant that was being glared at by an actual Dragon.
*Boom!* Nonetheless, Gu Changge, not letting him finish his sentence, raised his Solar Heavenly Blade and swung it at the Ancestor.
A frightening murderous aura whirled to the sky and cut the Ancestor into two. At the same time, Principles, divine abilities, artifacts exploded as he was left with no possibility to defend himself.
Seeing how the Ancestor of a family was easily slain by a slash of a blade, the observers had goosebumps all over their bodies. It was precisely as if he was a feeble animal mercilessly slaughtered.
“Now, speak. Tell me how you survived and my satisfaction may allow you to live. If you don’t want them to die, you should know not to test my patience.” Gu Changge withdrew the Solar Heavenly Blade and turned to Li Xiu with a casual grin. Simultaneously, his gaze swept across the Sky Blade Ancestor, Saintess Yao Yue, and the rest.
They didn’t dare to look him in the eye as they were frantic with fear. Their souls were shaking and so were their legs. They dared not to imagine that Gu Changge, after defeating the once-invincible War Immortal, could still so breezily torture the latter while speaking so casually. It was as if he was actually stepping on a bug.
“End me! I’ll say nothing either way!” Li Xiu’s face was full of agony. He was frustrated by his own incompetence. Had he remained in his prime state, there was no way he would have been bested by Gu Changge, let alone be tormented by him.
“Really? Then I shall grant you your wish.” Without further ado, as a golden rune flashed in his eyes, he began searching Li Xiu’s soul right in front of everyone else.
Tormented by the pain, Li Xiu subconsciously yelled. Sadly, his soul was so weak that it exploded and disintegrated right when Gu Changge searched his soul.
“The War Immortal…”
The Sky Blade Ancestor, Saintess Yao Yue, and the rest widened their eyes in dread and stupefaction, unable to believe that the War Immortal perished right before their eyes as his soul shattered and exploded.
On the other hand, Gu Xianer, Shen Xian’er, and the others were also stunned by how quickly the War Immortal died.
“A Sanctuary of Resurrection. The Ten Thousand Immortals Altar, huh?” Gu Changge wasn’t surprised by his findings. He discovered quite a lot of information from searching Li Xiu’s soul.
As he predicted, a being that had dead countless years ago shouldn’t have reappeared in the world. If the Sanctuary of Resurrection wasn’t the factor, then Li Xiu must have faked his death in the past.
As a matter of fact, Gu Changge had been looking for something like the Ten Thousand Immortals Altar in order to perfect his future plans, and Li Xiu’s coincidental emergence resolved his issue.
As for finding where Li Xiu’s actual body was hidden, it wouldn’t be difficult. Essentially, Gu Changge had already planted something to track him.
“He died so swiftly…” Gu Xianer was in disbelief. At the end of the day, Li Xiu was the War Immortal, yet he was murdered so easily.
Gu Changge then looked at her and replied, “He has always been dead. Though, technically, I suppose he’s not really dead.”
“What does that mean?” Gu Xianer remained confused.
Gu Changge then blandly explained, “That was just a vessel which he used to roam around. The actual War Immortal himself had died long ago. Nonetheless, there are still remnants of memories engraved in his former body that control this vessel.”
Upon those words, Gu Xianer came to a realisation, after which she turned to Li Xiu’s torn-up body and scoffed. “Oh well. Since Xian’er’s marriage agreement has been voided, everything had ended well. What an annoying man, thinking that he is still the War Immortal himself.”
Hearing that, the crowd had an epiphany, though they still felt conflicted. Ultimately, Li Xiu was once the War Immortal, yet he was so humiliatingly tormented to death. Regardless, such words could only be spoken by Gu Changge and Gu Xianer.
Even though the body was controlled by the War Immortal’s memories, it wasn’t something that could be destroyed so easily. Thus, what took place today would surely shock Heavenly Tide Realm and even the Upper Realm.
The War Immortal resurfaced in the mortal world, only to be murdered by Gu Changge in the Shen Family Residence. If the followers of the War Immortal were to know about this, there would definitely be tremendous uproar.
“Young Master Changge, how should we deal with the rest?” The Ancestor of the Shen Family looked at Saintess Yao Yue, the Sky Blade Ancestor, and the rest with coldness glistening in his eyes. Those people were underlings, or rather, descendents, of the War Immortal.
If it weren’t for Gu Changge’s presence here today, the Shen Family would have faced fathomless troubles due to Li Xiu. Although they felt no remorse for Li Xiu, him keeping his identity from the world would eventually lead to grave loss and a bloody lesson for the Shen Family. Besides, the Ancestor of the Shen Family was never fond of the Sky Blade Ancestor and the others.
“That is all up to you now,” Gu Changge calmly answered.
“Yes, Young Master Changge,” the Ancestor of the Shen Family reverently replied.
All of a sudden, divine rainbows surged from the distant skies as a number of figures filled with murderous aura sped over to Gu Changge and respectfully reported, “Young Master, as you ordered, Blazing Moon Holy Land has been destroyed without a single survivor left.”
Hearing that, the crowd was terrified. Blazing Moon Holy Land was brought to ruin so easily without any survivors.
“Luckily, we didn’t upset Young Master Changge.” The Shen Family members were joyous, watching as Saintess Yao Yue and the rest fainted after hearing the news.
…
Very soon, the incident in the Shen Family Residence quickly shocked the entire Heavenly Tide Realm.
Earlier, the domineering might of Nirvana Grade Artifact, which rose through the clouds and engulfed the entire sky, even trembling the stars outside this whole world, left many cultivators fearful and curious about what happened in the Shen Family Residence.
Furthermore, the Ancestors of forces that had kept a low profile suddenly reawakened, after which they hurried to the Shen Family Residence.
Other than that, the long-lived Blazing Moon Holy Land was destroyed, erased from Heavenly Tide Realm after being attacked by a number of terrorising beings.
Thus, such news had caused a major disturbance across the land. As such, Heavenly Tide Realm, which had been peaceful for many years, immediately grew lively.
Followingly, a piece of news that was leaked from the Shen Family was even more stupefying. Many were left in dismay as they even doubted their ears.
The War Immortal of Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains, who resurfaced in this world turned out to be the infamous, useless in-law of the Shen Family. Sadly, he offended a young being of the Upper Realm and was murdered in the Shen Family Residence.
The formidable cultivators who went to visit the War Immortal were also annihilated altogether as they were instantly slaughtered and turned to ashes.
Such news greatly disturbed Heavenly Tide Realm and was even spread to the Upper Realm, where countless were left stupefied.
At the end of the day, the War Immortal was once an invincible being that dominated the world. According to rumours, he should have perished in the ambush back when he was invading the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains. But now, for some reason, he resurfaced to the world, only to face such a tragic end, which was truly unbelievable.
As for the young being from the vast Upper Realm who could activate a Nirvana Grade Artifact, everyone could already tell who it was without a second guess. Upon realisation, they were deeply astounded.
…
As Celestial Mists drifted between the emerald bamboos in the valleys that resembled a Celestial Realm, Gu Xianer, Shen Xian’er, Mr. Gu, and Mrs. Shen were sitting around a stone table.
As the fragrance of tea wafted, its jade green surface captivatingly reflected the sunlight.
Meanwhile, Gu Changge sat opposite to the family of four as he raised the tea cup to his lips and gave it a gentle blow. After taking a sip, he complimented, “This is exquisite tea, Aunt Shen.”
“You flatter me, Young Master Changge.” Mrs. Shen sounded rather cold as she was discourteous to him. Although the event earlier indeed changed her perception towards Gu Changge, she was still unable to move on from what he had done to Gu Xianer.
Mr. Gu, on the other hand, was visibly perturbed. He could feel that Gu Xianer’s attitude towards Gu Changge was more natural and intimate compared to how she behaved with him and his wife.
Besides, judging from her interaction with Gu Changge, she didn’t seem like she was threatened or oppressed by him.
Regardless, Mr. Gu couldn’t fathom what it was that drew Gu Xianer to behave this way to her greatest nemesis. Not only that, but Gu Changge even travelled all the way to Heavenly Tide Realm because of her, and then helped deal with Shen Xian’er’s problem.
“Honestly, I am here simply to see how Xianer is doing. There’s no catch. Though, if you are bothered by my presence here, I shall take my leave right away,” Gu Changge said with a smile as he put down the tea cup in his hand.
“Please stop jesting Young Master Changge. We wouldn’t dare.” Mrs. Shen’s attitude was as icy as ever. She was actually waiting for Gu Changge to explain himself.
Nonetheless, Gu Changge had no intentions of speaking with her any further, let alone to explain himself.
As such, Mrs. Shen was dazed, but Gu Changge’s attitude forbid her from questioning him. After all, she was merely an in-law, and that was one reason as to why Gu Changge was so polite to her; the other one being that she was Gu Xianer’s mother. Since she was aware of that, she understood that if she were to start a quarrel, not only would she embarrass herself, but Gu Xianer as well.
Seeing that, Mr. Gu let out a soft sigh as he shook his head.
Then, Gu Changge turned to Gu Xianer. She remained cold, but for some reason, she lowered her head as she stared at her toes, as if she was daydreaming.
“Now that I see you are well here, I suppose I shall take my leave. Be it the Shen Family Residence or the Gu Family Residence, you can stay anywhere your heart desires. I shall head to Peach Village soon and visit Yao Yao when I’m there.”
Despite his claim, he intended to look for the Sanctuary of Resurrection before he eventually departed from Heavenly Tide Realm. After all, to him, the most intriguing part of the War Immortal was the latter’s Sanctuary of Resurrection while his Fortuity was secondary.
“I don’t really have any business here either, and I was just going to return to visit my Masters as well.” Hearing that, Gu Xianer raised her head and looked at Gu Changge with her twinkling, stunning eyes.
In this second, she felt as though her head was about to explode.
To be truthful, she was against the idea of her parents meeting Gu Changge. Not only was the feeling bizarre and nerve-cracking, but she also had to act maturely before her parents while being a role model to her little sister, Shen Xian’er.
Luckily for her, Gu Changge didn’t trouble her and even allowed her an escape route, which was to return to Peach village to meet with her Masters and Sister Tao Yao.
“You haven’t seen your parents for so long. You should accompany them more.” Nevertheless, Gu Changge revealed a subtle grin as his tone shifted, deeming Gu Xianer momentarily stunned.
“Eh? No, I’ve stayed here for half a year. I’m sure my Masters gravely misses me. I have to pay them a visit.” Coming to her senses, Gu Xianer shot him a resentful stare. She could tell Gu Changge’s ‘suggestion’ was a deliberate attempt to hinder her from leaving. [I knew he wouldn’t be so kind as to allow me an escape route!]
“I don’t think your Masters will miss you. They must be at peace in your absence,” Gu Changge stated as he shook his head, ignoring Gu Xianer’s icy glare.
Gu Xianer felt that those words were not actually describing her Masters, but Gu Changge himself.
“Young Master Changge is right. Xianer, you should stay here and be with us. We have missed each other for so long.” Mrs. Shen then spoke up, expressing her desire to have Gu Xianer stay behind as it would be dangerous for her to tag along with Gu Changge.
In her opinion, judging by Gu Changge methods, he was by no means a good person, yet Gu Xianer trusted him so deeply. At this point, she might as well write her desire to leave with Gu Changge on her face.
“I have certain setbacks in cultivation that I wish to talk to my Masters about.” Gu Xianer revealed a distressed expression. This was true though. She indeed had some problems that she would need her Masters’ guidance.
“Nevermind. Since Xianer wants to leave, just let her be. We are not going anywhere anyway. She can visit us whenever she wants to.” Suddenly, Mr. Gu waved his hand and interrupted Mrs. Shen.
Since Gu Xianer was intent on departing, they wouldn’t be able to make her stay. Thus, they might as well allow her to leave.
Heaving a sigh, Mrs. Shen took a glance at Gu Changge before turning to Gu Xianer. [Ah, such ill-fated destiny…]
Back when Gu Xianer was a child, she always stuck around Gu Changge wherever he went. Unfortunately, she was abysmally harmed, losing her Dao Bone and almost her life. Yet, she seemed to have forgotten about it.
As such, Mrs. Shen was afraid that not only Gu Changge might harm Gu Xianer once again, but he might even force her to help him in doing so.
After listening to her parents, Gu Xianer certainly felt relieved, after which she warily glanced at Gu Changge.
“I still think that it’d be best for Xianer to remain here.” Noticing her gaze, Gu Changge replied with his ever so calm face.
Hearing that, Gu Xianer couldn’t help but feel that she was derided by Gu Changge and was frustrated by that. [How dare you shove me away! Damn it!]
On the other hand, Shen Xian’er, who remained wordless the entire time, was fascinated as it was her first time seeing her ‘mature’ older sister behaving this way.
“Your older sister said you’re highly invested in your pursuit for the Great Dao. As your senior in the family, I sadly, don’t have anything befitting of a greeting gift. However, here’s a jade tablet I acquired from my travels back when I was a child. Within are numerous high-level cultivation techniques of great wonders. I can pass this on to you as my greeting gift.” As if Gu Changge just noticed Shen Xian’er’s presence, he spoke with a faint smile. He then pulled out a crystalline jade tablet from his garment. As vibrant mists intertwined around it, it appeared extremely ancient and mysterious.
When Gu Changge handed the jade tablet to Shen Xian’er, she hesitated for some time, not knowing whether to accept it. Since the jade tablet once belonged to Gu Changge, its content must not be simple. Nevertheless, she couldn’t make the decision considering the relationship between her parents and Gu Changge.
“Since Young Master Changge offered to give it to you, you should take it, Xian’er. Hurry, show some gratitude.” Disaffected, Mrs. Shen understood that it was their relationship that caused Shen Xian’er to bear a dilemma against the Gu Family. Otherwise, given how talented she was, she would have become extraordinary in the Gu Family. At the end of the day, it was them who burdened their daughter.
“Thank you, Young Master Changge.” And so, Shen Xian’er accepted the jade tablet. She then raised her head, only to see Gu Changge staring at her, as if there was a flower on her head. Thus, she awkwardly lowered her gaze.
Nevertheless, Gu Changge quickly withdrew his gaze, after which he gently chuckled. “No need to be so courteous. This is just a keepsake of mine. Whenever you feel like returning to the Gu Family Residence, you need only to activate this item and someone from the Upper Realm shall come to fetch you. Given how much potential you hold, you don’t deserve to be hidden in such a place.”
As Gu Changge was speaking, he handed a jade pendant to Shen Xian’er. He thought it’d be better to keep an eye on her, thinking that something might happen to her in the future.
“Mm…” Shen Xian’er then accepted the jade pendant as she nodded. Honestly, she had always been enthusiastic about going to the Upper Realm. After all, the Upper Realm was the origin of cultivating, an irreplaceable sacred land for cultivation for all cultivators.
At this moment, she felt that Gu Changge wasn’t as evil as her parents described him to be.
Seeing this, Gu Xianer, despite her desire to bring her younger sister along, knew she had no rights to make the decision.
Thus, after bidding family farewell, she followed Gu Changge out of the Shen Family Residence as they intended to depart from Heavenly Tide Realm back to the Upper Realm.
All this time, Gu Changge never mentioned the incident in the past to Gu Xianer’s parents. Although they were dying to know his reasons, they could only forgo their desire. Hence, they grew to believe what Gu Xianer had told them—Gu Changge did it due to an unspeakable secret.
“He’s finally gone. It had been quite… suffocating.” Including the Ancestor, the Elders of the Shen Family gathered at the gates to send their guests away and eventually heaved long sighs of relief.
To Gu Changge, the commotion caused in Heavenly Tide Realm was not at all mention-worthy. Though, the Fortuity he earned certainly allowed him to acquire a few more Absolute Detachment Bones.
After he left, Heavenly Tide Realm remained turbulent as it was greatly disturbed by the matter regarding the War Immortal. The many forces that were dragged into it were now shivering in fear as their Ancestors were slaughtered, as proven by their fractured Life Plaques. Had they followed Blazing Moon Holy Land, they would definitely find themselves tortured by their own remorse.
Other than that, due to the Upper Realm’s war against the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains, intense shockwaves from the war came from the outside of Heavenly Realm, deeming its barriers unstable and leaving cracks on them.
Feeling threatened, cultivators predicted that it wouldn’t be long until Heavenly Tide Realm would be the first to encounter a massive disaster from the war.
Not long after their departure from Heavenly Tide Realm, Gu Changge brought Gu Xianer to a mountaintop not far away from Boundary Marker Sea instead of Peach Village right away.
From afar, golden sand was violently drifting across the sky as dried bones were engulfed within it.
“What is this?” Gu Xianer curiously looked at the Chaos Purple Scripture in Gu Changge’s hand.
“An artifact to peek at our karma and destiny.” Gu Changge then shot her a stare. “If you dare to bear any ideas of seizing it, I’ll have you tossed in somewhere abandoned and leave you there to rot.”
“You wouldn’t dare! I’m simply asking. Why are you being so paranoid?” Gu Xianer was visibly annoyed, as if he precisely saw through her thoughts.
After giving a warning, Gu Changge drew some of his power, the Chaos Purple Scripture suddenly became clear as a vision appeared atop it. In the vision, there was an old man with a hunchback.
“Where is the Sanctuary of Resurrection?” Gu Changge asked with an enthralled look.
“Gu Changge, Master shares no grudge with you. Why did you pull off such a maddening act? How insufferable!”
Near Boundary Marker Sea, an old man, who was collecting mysterious powers from the waves, was immensely enraged by the news. Nonetheless, he forcibly suppressed his anger. He was holding a jade jar which held great energy in it.
Apparently, this old man was an old servant of the War Immortal, and he had been wandering and attempting to resurrect the War Immortal.
As memories and Sources of formidable cultivators who had died in the past great war were scattered nearby Boundary Marker Sea, the old man was searching for the fallen body of the War Immortal, which harboured the Source of the War Immortal, which had yet to wane.
The techniques the War Immortal cultivated were concentrated on his physical vessel, and he achieved a level that was unattainable by others. Thus, even after many years since his peril, as long as one could locate his fallen body, they could raise the War Immortal back from the dead.
As for Li Xiu, who recently died in the Shen Family Residence, he was merely a vessel that was manipulated by an awakened fragment of the War Immortal’s memories.
Despite that, in the old man’s opinion, Li Xiu could be considered the reincarnation of the War Immortal, a piece that could help in bringing the War Immortal completely back to life.
Unfortunately, that hope of the old man was thoroughly shattered by Gu Changge, hence his vexation. Followingly, the old man moved towards a fractured Space Rift near Boundary Marker Sea with the jade jar in his hand.
As his body flickered, the arrays along the Space Rift faded away as he successfully entered it.
