I Am the Fated Villain
-
chapter-430
“You—”
His words stunned the youths from the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains, who then became enraged by his mocking and disparaging attitude. They didn’t believe that such a powerful man would have a Master.
“I’ll kill you!” A handsome long-haired figure left their ranks, clad in green robes, he was holding a green machete. He directly landed on the battlefield. He looked like he was suppressing his rage from the furious look on his face. He couldn’t just sit by and watch his allies on their side die. So, he was determined to wash away their shame and raise their spirits. Naturally, many young prodigies of the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains were shocked and exclaimed to each other.
“It’s him—Lin Qingyang, Lin Wu’s older brother. It’s a pity Lin Wu isn’t here. With both of them, they would have crushed that despicable man. However, his strength must be comparable since he is Lin Wu’s brother. With Lin Wu’s guidance, the young prodigies of the Lin Family may have improved by leaps and bounds. After all, it is a Blood Dragon Clan.”
They were excited at the prospect of winning. If Lin Qingyang dared step forward, that meant he had absolute confidence in winning against his opponent. Furthermore, he had Dragon Blood and a powerful brother to guide him. That brother was a legendary being, who was widely revered and thus considered one of the most powerful in the younger generation within the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains.“Qingyang.” One of the supreme experts in the Sacred King Realm looked conflicted. “Be careful.”
“I understand, Ancestor.” Lin Qingyang nodded before transforming into a silhouette and disappearing. He approached the enemy and began engaging in a fight with his opponent.
Both sides appeared to be evenly matched in the great fight, with neither gaining the upper hand. Lin Qingyang was extremely strong, but the Yaksha like man wasn’t inferior either since he was also powerful even amongst the young prodigies of the Upper Realm. He wouldn’t be qualified to be Gu Changge’s follower otherwise.
Even covered in blood, the two sides continued their battle. Brilliant light erupted accompanied by terrifying vibrations as abilities and techniques collided and transformed. The aftershocks caused many barren mountains below to explode into piles of ruins.
“You are still inferior to me, though,” Ye Han roared, immediately discovering an opening and sweeping his spear towards it. Runes glowed intensely around it as it pierced his opponent’s body.
Everyone in the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains became intimidated since the Yaksha like man was far too formidable. No one could beat him!
“Ha, you’ve been tricked.” There was a shift in the battle proceedings where Lin Qingyang suddenly laughed coldly despite being stabbed. His blood began to heat up as a terrifying energy awakened within him. It seemed like an Unrivalled True Dragon was going towards Ye Han through the spear.“What?” Ye Han was stunned beyond belief, coughing up blood while his arms were blasted off by the impact. Even his tough spear was shaking and emitting cracking sounds.
“Yield your life to me!” Lin Qingyang shouted without regard for his wounds, rushing towards his opponent at an extreme speed and punching through him. Qi surged into the air as Ye Han was blasted apart.
At that moment an Unrivalled True Dragon seemed to appear behind Lin Qingyang, making his aura incomparable, a shocking sight to behold.
The people of the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains cheered, their expressions shifting from dismay to excitement. They were all exhilarated like they were Lin Qingyang himself. The man had used his ability to prove their side wasn’t weaker than the Upper Realm.
“That is a strange energy. It’s not like a normal bloodline power since it can burn through techniques and dissolve Rune Bones.”
The Upper Realm army was stunned as well, not expecting Lin Qingyang to suddenly display such strength. It was far too shocking since even Ye Han had been blasted apart.
“I will kill you as an offering to my deceased people.” Lin Qingyang roared, trying to use his current advantage to destroy Ye Han completely, including his soul.
Ye Han became frightened; his soul tried to flee to no avail since it wasn’t as fast as his opponent. He became desperate in the face of impending death.
*Buzz!*
Silver strands suddenly appeared from between his eyebrows, shimmering brightly with a mysterious energy. The world seemed to freeze momentarily as a divine yet terrifying energy was generated continuously, ready to appear in this world from infinite worlds and spaces away.
“What’s this? What being can reach this place from across the Border Marker Sea?”
Those powerful experts from Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains became stricken, so much that their souls were quivering.
Everyone felt cold suddenly, feeling like they were frozen to the spot and could no longer move. Fear swept through them quickly. Lin Qingyang, who had been pursuing Ye Han, felt this more acutely. His entire being was shivering so much it couldn’t move, while his soul felt cold as ice.
A tall, slender yet indistinct figure seemed to cross an infinite number of spaces and appear. It was a shocking sight to behold, with tiny light glimmering faintly in the Chaos Fog surrounding him. It was as if myriad worlds had surrounded him and made him their eternal centre.
Silver holy flames blazed while emitting mighty auras, far too brilliant for anyone to look at it directly as their eyes would flood with tears. Thus, they all quickly closed their eyes.
“M-Master! You’re protecting me!? Greetings, Young Master!” Ye Han immediately became overjoyed, prostrating himself with cult-like reverence before the figure.
[Whose Dharma Body is that!? How could he even affect this place? Just how far has his cultivation reached?] Those from the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains wondered in horror.
Meanwhile, those from the Upper Realm quickly recognised the figure from amongst the clouds of thick fog. Their expressions became solemn as they felt awed and disbelieving.
“Run, Qingyang! You cannot win against him!” A supreme expert of Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains transformed and crossed the space, pulling out his weapon to counter this Dharma Body which had suddenly appeared.
The figure, surrounded by silver light, looked cold, emotionless, and condescending like a god overseeing the world. Its hand blocked out the sky, filled with powerful Qi which shook the world with its sheer force. Every obstacle was blasted apart, displaying its extreme might. Each line of its golden palm could be seen as it approached with frightening momentum like the Hand of God.
The expert became terrified, quickly wielding his weapon and his ultimate ability, yet it was no use as his body was blown to pieces by that one strike. Blood filled the air.
The scene was so alarming that everyone became stunned, their souls shook. The powerful expert’s blood had some sort of divine characteristic, containing a golden aura and golden runes as it rained down from the sky and made the ruined desert look like it had been razed by hellfire. His weapon was also not spared as it became dimmer, then vibrated on its own before exploding with a bang. It only left behind broken pieces, which fell onto the ground.
Everything became silent, the sounds of fighting fading away. The figure floating above them in the sky slowly dissipated as if it had been a hallucination. The way a Sacred King Realm expert was killed with a single palm strike was too horrifying.
“Thank you for saving me. Thank you for saving me” Ye Han remained on the ground respectfully, frantically kowtowing in the direction where the figure had been.
“Unbelievable!” Those from the Upper Realm looked on in surprise, unable to calm themselves down. They hadn’t expected that young man to cross an infinite distance just in time to save Ye Han. Such strength was unfathomable and seemed otherworldly. At the same time, they envied Ye Han for having such a Master, who could save him when he needed it.
“The legends have spoken of supreme experts among the Immortals who have reached unimaginable cultivation levels. Internally chanting their true name with reverence will make them conjure a Dharma Body to protect one as well as allow one achieve immortality.”
Many people recalled the rumours and became shaken, slowly gaining the intent to venerate this young man due to the events they had witnessed. Many young prodigies were exhilarated as well, sensing that Gu Changge’s strength had progressed to an imaginable stage that they could never imagine nor hope to reach.
“Who was that?” The army from the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains felt cold with fear. Their skulls had nearly split from how terrified they were since this was the first time they had seen such unfathomable divine might. No one could possibly survive it!
“I heard that it’s the leader of their army,” someone said, having heard the sounds from the Upper Realm’s side. They no longer had any motivation after seeing this personally.
…
In Mortal Palace, Gu Changge opened his eyes slowly. The silver flames around him faded away along with the runes which had materialised before everything became silent again. He looked toward the Golden Fortuity Cauldron lying in his palm, sensing that the Power of Faith contained had decreased drastically. The Power of Faith used by just one manifestation wasn’t negligible; if he had maintained it for a bit longer, he might have exhausted all the Power of Faith contained inside the Golden Fortuity Cauldron.
He had only planned on testing it out but the effect was obvious. Though, the rate of collecting the Power of Faith was not high. Nonetheless, news of what had happened would be widespread, and more Religious Followers would be created. Naturally, that means he would be able to collect more.
[‘Those who chant my true name shall gain eternal life during reincarnation’ – I really have to increase the theatrics to its maximum for this to work.]
Gu Changge couldn’t help but smile and placed the Golden Fortuity Cauldron in Mortal Palace, waiting for it to collect Fortuity and Power of Faith. He didn’t want to concern himself with the issue of the Border Marker Sea for now, but such a manifestation might cause waves there for a short time. It’s not that he liked being pretentious; he just felt that such a move could save more effort when he arrived there eventually.
“Have you resolved your business here? If so, we can set off for the Demon-Burying Abyss” Gu Changge looked toward Jiang Chuchu, who had been accompanying him.
While she was curious about the small golden cauldron in his hand, she didn’t ask any other questions and nodded instead.
Wang Zijin wasn’t in Mortal Palace, so she had to deal with many things before leaving. Like Gu Changge had said, Wang Zijin wasn’t really emotionally attached to Mortal Palace and so, would never care about dealing with its matters.
Jiang Chuchu was different though. Having grown up in Mortal Palace after being adopted by an Elder from this place, she felt very attached to it.
“Let’s go then.” Gu Changge immediately tore open the space before him, allowing a Golden Rune to shoot through the sky towards the entrance of Mortal Palace.
Several powerful cultivators were already waiting to join them on their journey to the Demon-Burying Abyss in order to kill the great demons spawning from it.
The Abyss was very far from the Middle Domain and also other Domains since space worked chaotically there. Space would alter according to the terrain and the surrounding space did not remain constant but changed continuously. However, it wasn’t hard to find its location since the Floating Buddhist Temple of the Buddhist Mountain was always a slight distance away. It also had a teleportation array outside, so as long as they arrived there, they could find the Demon-Burying Abyss.
The Floating Buddhist Temple and the Demon-Burying Abyss had a very deep connection since the founder of the former, who was an enlightened and accomplished monk. He had sensed the thick Demon Qi emanating from inside the Abyss which did not dissipate with time. He knew there would come a day when it would surge out and cause a catastrophe. Thus, that monk had made a grand vow—he wouldn’t become a Buddha as long as the Demon-Burying Abyss wasn’t cleared of the great demons.
Eventually, that monk had gone into the depths of the Abyss, trying to seek the source of the Demon Qi and nullify the potential disaster. However, he hadn’t expected to encounter an unknown accident inside and ran out of the Abyss while ranting madly.
It had made him one of the very few who had entered the depths of the Abyss; as for what he had seen, no one knew the truth since he had long lost his sanity.
On Gu Changge’s way to the Demon-Burying Abyss, his group ran into many powerful great demons who had escaped the Abyss to cause disaster in the surrounding areas. All of them had high cultivation levels, with the weakest in the Sacred Lord Realm.
Jiang Chuchu’s abilities wouldn’t be a match for them, but they were mere second-rate nutrients for Gu Changge and not worth wasting too much time on.
The news of them heading towards the Abyss to kill the great demons was quickly spread via cultivators throughout the land. While many Upper Realm forces were occupied with the Eternal Overcast as well as the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains, Gu Changge’s movements became of great interest. It wasn’t surprising information since he bore the identity of the Mortal One.
Meanwhile, news from the Border Marker Sea also took up public attention. Gu Changge’s manifestation of his Dharma Body, in particular, shocked many; they began to suspect that he was already in the Sacred King Realm or even higher. Though it was hard to guess. The strongest of the current young prodigies were merely in the Sacred Realm or the Sacred Noble Realm. This included the King of Six Crowns, Jun Yao.
Of course, many brilliant figures had also emerged in the war raging near the Border Marker Seas, their reputations spreading far and wide. That included the newly-crowned Sect Master of Supreme Cave Heaven. He had reached the Sacred Emperor Realm at only a few hundreds of years old. He went by the name Chu Hao and Many knew that there was some enmity between him and Gu Changge. Furthermore, it wasn’t certain if the two would meet during the invasion of the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains.
Other young prodigies had managed to become famous too, due to their war exploits. This included disciples of the Immortal Academy and Successors of different Families or Sects.
Out of them all, Gu Changge focused mainly on the several Fortuitous Ones and their close acquaintances.
Yue Mingkong was slowly taking over key duties in the Unrivalled Celestial Dynasty, so she didn’t have the time to join in the war. However, she might have some knowledge of some important things by virtue of being a regressor. This includes the location of the last Tool of World Domination.
She hadn’t said much to him yet, which Gu Changge assumed was because the time wasn’t right. The owner of the Sword of World Domination was probably no simpleton.
A few days later, Gu Changge and his group appeared from the doorway of the teleportation array, accompanied by space fluctuations, having crossed multiple domains.
An ancient yet majestic temple shimmering with Buddha light appeared in the distance, exuding a sombre and grand aura. Monks were scattered all over the place, sitting while meditating upon Dharma.
“The Floating Buddhist Temple.” Jiang Chuchu’s gaze landed on the words embossed in purple gold on the plaque, which hung above the entrance. They shimmered with Buddha light as if it could reveal the presence of everything demonic. The temple was just like its name had described—it hovered above a thick layer of fog while surrounded by strange scenes. If one weren’t careful, they might fall into the great crevice below. Besides, there was an anti-flight array around the area; no one could traverse the sky above unless they were p[owerful enough cultivators.
“Greetings, Young Master Changge and Saintess Chuchu.” A young monk was already waiting outside the doorway as he knew they would come to eliminate evil and defend the Great Dao.
Gu Changge was taken aback when he saw this past acquaintance. He was none other than Chosen Monk Jin Chan, whom he had publicly humiliated in front of the gate of Immortal Academy. Here he was, waiting with a smile and hands in a praying gesture.
[Hmm, he probably hid it really well.]
Gu Changge now noticed the faint aura of Fortuity emanating from the monk. While it didn’t reach the level of the Fortuitous Ones, he could be considered someone with great Fortuity.
He hadn’t detected this nor did the System mention it; either the monk hid it very well, or he had recently encountered a great opportunity. This intrigued him somewhat since he remembered clearly how Jin Chan had betrayed Prince Shen back at the Land of Eternal Overcast.
While Gu Changge’s goal was to eliminate Prince Shen, the latter wouldn’t have died at his hand if Jin Chan had warned him.
“Greetings, Brother Gu. We meet once again.” The Chosen Monk Jin Chan was wearing Buddhist robes and surrounded by Dharma light, making him resemble an enlightened monk.
Gu Changge’s gaze landed on the Buddhist beads in his hand. “Chosen Monk, it surprises me to see you waiting for us here. It seems that you want to join us on our journey to the Demon-Burying Abyss.”
Chosen Monk Jin Chan nodded. “As the Successor of Buddhist Mountain, I will not absolve myself from resolving the scourge of the Demon-Burying Abyss.”
His expression was neutral like he was discussing something ordinary. Gu Changge felt Jin Chan might have some understanding of the Demon-Burying Abyss since it was said that the monk had gone there once. His leading the way would save Gu Changge’s group some effort as well as present some other advantages. Jin Chan wouldn’t do this out of the kindness of his heart, so he might have been trying to find something.
