I Am the Fated Villain
chapter-793

Inside Gu Changge’s Inner Universe, all the hidden experts were in a frenzy. They charged at him like a swarm of crazed beasts.

No one ever thought that all their efforts would ultimately be in vain.

The chance for Immortal Ascension had been a lie. The Immortal Gate had been a lie. Even the aura of Immortality had been faked. Everything was a trap, and the Tree of Epoch was merely the bait used to lure them in.

They loathed Gu Changge to the core, wishing they could tear him apart, break him into pieces, and reduce him to ashes. Even if his soul were to be destroyed to ensure that he could never be reborn again, that was still insufficient to ease their resentment.

Many hidden experts were too emotional to care about anything else. They ignited their souls and brought out their Immortal Grade Artifacts as they charged at Gu Changge, who was swinging his halberd around.

Alas, as soon as the Eight Barren Demon Halberd made a sweeping motion in their direction, all the Principles exploded, and any strike from their Immortal Grade Artifact died out.

All their attacks fell like droplets of water in the ocean, incapable of causing any harm to Gu Changge.

This plunged them into even deeper despair. They could not see any hope of survival. The real world was right before their eyes. It was right within reach, and yet they could not escape. They were exploding to their doom in this place.

“Just who are you?!”

A hidden expert who looked like a golden giant roared at Gu Changge as he came over and flung a mighty fist at the latter. Streaks of golden light burst forth with strength that could shake entire universes, but the attack did not even come into contact with Gu Changge’s robe.

*Boom*

Everything cracked and shook around them as the relentless light of the halberd descended, sweeping down and slashing the brow of the golden giant. In an instant, the hidden expert shattered along with his soul.

Gu Changge’s expression remained indifferent and devoid of any emotions. He looked at these hidden experts as if they were nothing more than ants he could squash with his feet.

In his eyes, their fate had been decided. They would not be able to escape from his Inner Universe. Ultimately, they would become the fertiliser that enabled him to take the next step, so naturally, he would not show any emotions over their deaths.

After all, everything had been determined from the start. Nothing could change the outcome.

“How pitiful.”

Some, in their depths of misery, attempted to break out of this fake Immortal Domain, but endless thunderbolts struck down from the sky and pounded their heads, causing them to stumble as they coughed up blood.

They could not hold out for much longer.

Previously, they had to expend a lot of energy to reach this place. They even had to forcibly open the Immortal Gate. They were not at their peak now.

Now, with Gu Changge in control, the Inner Universe was impregnable unless an Immortal appeared. Even if they unleashed their Immortal Grade Artifacts and awakened the Artifact Spirit within to cast a mighty strike, all that could accomplish was make the Inner Universe shake, at most.

*Boom*

A strange disturbance arose in the Inner Universe. A Chaos Abyss emerged surrounded by blood and Qi which kept spreading out, engulfing the hidden experts who had fallen.

Even in death, they could not escape the fate of being turned into fertiliser. They were devoured by the Chaos Abyss. The blazing True Flames around them began to ignite and refine them.

Some of the artifacts that had been swallowed up collapsed and exploded, turning into scattered dust.

Unable to bear this sight any longer, a hidden expert roared and charged towards the Chaos Abyss.

However, without exception, he was swallowed in the blink of an eye and vanished without a trace.

At the very next moment, a loud sound rang out from the Chaos Abyss as fresh blood exploded in all directions. The eye-blinding crimson blood made the hidden experts’ hearts tremble. They felt as if they were being stabbed with needles in every single one of their pores.

The blood scattered like rubies as it splattered out from the Chaos Abyss. A misty haze filled the air as white bone fragments rained down. It was a chilling sight to behold.

The speed at which the hidden expert met his demise left the rest in hopeless despair. When did they become nothing more than lambs waiting to be slaughtered? They were supposed to be the most formidable and invincible beings in the Upper Realm.

“It’s your turn, One-Eye Daoist of Sky Emperor Mountain.” Gu Changge’s gaze fell on the group of hidden experts.

His eyes zeroed in on the One-Eye Daoist, who was extremely terrified. Gu Changge noticed this hidden expert right from the beginning. There was no way he would let the One-Eye Daoist go.

[He’s the True Daoist that Sky Emperor Mountain sent over to intercept and cause trouble on my wedding day. They purposely tried to get under my skin on the day of my joyous occasion.]

Gu Changge had long considered Sky Emperor Mountain as the walking dead. Once he finished his business here, he would head over to raze Sky Emperor Mountain to the ground.

The One-Eye Daoist who was in front of him now had repeatedly schemed in secret to try and get rid of him. Gu Changge ignored all of it in the past because he was busy setting up his grand scheme, but it did not mean that he did not care.

“You recognise me? Who exactly are you?” The One-Eye Daoist saw the Lord of Gods’ Ruins who was shrouded in a mist of Chaos Qi as he sat at the end of the River of Time suddenly looking at him. His blood went cold as he shivered in fear. Even his soul was quaking. He felt as if the other had seen right through him and his skull was about to crack open.

However, Gu Changge did not answer him. Instead, a large hand reached out.

Chaos Qi rushed forth and slammed into the One-Eye Daoist who coughed blood as he flew backwards. His body was on the verge of shattering into pieces. He could not avoid the attack.

“Ugh…” The One-Eye Daoist coughed up more blood as he shook in terror. The energy felt extremely familiar to him. He had felt it before.

[Who is this? Just who is he!?] He knew he could not have been mistaken. The Lord of Gods’ Ruins before his eyes had to be someone he had met before. It could not possibly be an unknown person.

“It’s you…”

“Gu Changge!!!”

All at once, a thought occurred to the One-Eye Daoist as he began shaking in horror. He could not even eke out a complete sentence as a wave of unprecedented fear washed over him. His eyes were wide and bulging as an unimaginably horrifying thought formed in his mind. Shivers ran down his spine as his limbs went numb.

[How could this be? I tracked Gu Changge’s movements before I left the Upper Realm. I confirmed that he had been staying with the Immortal Gu Family ever since his wedding day. He never left their territory. How did he come over to the Resplendence Universe? How did he become the Lord of Gods’ Ruins who schemed against all of the Forces of the Upper Realm to slaughter everyone?]

It was all too horrifying and unbelievable. The One-Eye Daoist could not believe that all of this was indeed happening.

The other hidden experts were also as terrified as they could possibly be. They never thought the One-Eye Daoist would cry out a name that would never have occurred to the rest of them at a time like this.

That young cultivator was a reincarnation of an Absolute Being from the Forbidden Epoch, but could he really be the mastermind behind all of this?

“H-How did you do it?” The One-Eye Daoist’s voice was shaking with fear. He knew Gu Changge would never show him mercy. He had plotted against Gu Changge many times with every intention of killing him.

Knowing the grudge and resentment between them, Gu Changge was bound to kill him.

Gu Changge did not think that the One-Eye Daoist would recognise him, but with what was happening now, it no longer mattered whether or not someone recognised him.

The Immortal Mist that shrouded his face scattered to reveal his true visage. He sat there with a cold expression, like a deity overlooking them all from the edge of creation.

The terrifying Chaos Abyss floated above his head as it emanated a steady stream of life force. Grand Runes fell to form a Grand Flask.

“Go on. Tell me how you wish to die,” he spoke up icily.

He looked at the One-Eye Daoist, and with a flick of the Eight Barren Demon Halberd, a wisp of energy was all it took to make the One-Eye Daoist’s body split open. Iridescent blood spilt out, and the One-Eye Daoist was barely alive at this point.

“That’s the weapon that once appeared during the Forbidden Epoch. A Demon in possession of a Demonic Heart had even once tried to create a weapon that mimicked it… It has monstrous demonic power that could slaughter all in its path.”

“You’re the culprit! You’re that madman from the Forbidden Epoch! You have been reborn in this era!”

Just then, one of the hidden experts recognised the Eight Barren Demon Halberd. His eyes widened in horror and his voice trembled.

It had been shocking enough for them to find out that Gu Changge was the mastermind behind everything. They never thought he would be a reincarnation of the culprit from the Forbidden Epoch.

He was the reason why the Upper Realm had undergone a drastic change, which left the World Principles shattered ending the chance for cultivators to become Immortals.

Nothing ever hinted at this before. No one would have even considered such a possibility.

“He’s… the Lord of All Demons?”

“That explains it… That explains everything. You’re the mastermind behind everything that happened in the Upper Realm. You’ve hidden it well.”

This news made the One-Eye Daoist turn pale with despair. He could not even speak.

This was undoubtedly even more shocking than the fact that Gu Changge had plotted against the entire Upper Realm. After all, he was the reason why the Immortal Domain and the Upper Realm had been separated. In fact, news of this would even draw the attention of those from the Immortal Domain.

However, he knew that no matter what happened as a result of this, they, the ones in here, would not live to see it.

Everyone was filled with terror and hopelessness. Alas, it did not seem all that regrettable that someone like that had tricked them.

Gu Changge did not say anything else. There was nothing for him to say. It was not as if knowing the truth would help them in any way. It certainly would not affect him.

The next moment, light burst out of the Chaos Abyss, making it look like a gateway to the home of an Immortal. It completely enveloped everything around it. Everyone crumbled in the light as if they had been branded by it. The light set them ablaze and they turned into a shower of light.

In the end, true silence befell with only a few Immortal Grade Artifacts, which had not been refined, scattered throughout the place. They were empty shells as the divine being within them had long since fallen into a deep slumber.

It went without saying that some of the divine beings within the Immortal Weapons tried to attack Gu Changge when the hidden experts brought them out, but it had been futile.

“This is the true Light of Immortal Ascension. Alas, you won’t be able to see it for yourselves,” Gu Changge murmured as he bathed in the shower of light.

Light of Immortal Ascension.

The vast and boundless ocean of energy surged within the Inner Universe as it converged and flowed towards him as if blessing him and forging the foundation of Immortality for him.
