I Am the Fated Villain
-
chapter-836
Blood rained down above the Western Immortal Domain, shrouding a massive stretch of the universe. Stars were all stained red.
The lives of the Immortal Kings from the Other Domain came to a miserable end. King Ming was the only one who was lucky enough to escape this fate.
Upon witnessing this scene, those from the Other Domain were consumed by terror and disbelief. Horrified, they fell to their knees while trembling uncontrollably.
The situation felt like a living nightmare to them. Everlasting Immortal Kings had died. They had broken through the Western Heavenly Gate and descend upon the Western Immortal Domain. They were supposed to be invincible. How could they have died just like that? With their blood tainting even the edges of the universe.
Four Immortal Kings had died in total. Even when the Immortal Domain was at its peak, such a situation was unthinkable. This news was too horrifying. Many from the Other Domain were howling in denial. They could not accept this outcome.
They used to revere the Immortal Kings, but now, the subjects of their reverence had fallen. It was as if the world had collapsed, and life had been plunged into a state of absolute hollowness and darkness.
“Just who is he…”
Many young prodigies from the Other Domain were howling in rage. With bloodshot eyes, they glared intensely at Gu Changge who stood before the Heavenly Ancient City. They desperately wanted to know his identity.
How could he be so unbelievably powerful, so much so that he single-handedly slaughtered four Immortal Kings from the Other Domain? Such a feat would have been shocking even in ancient times.
“Someone from the Forbidden Epoch…”
Some Elders from the Other Domain trembled. Earlier on, they caught vague snippets of the conversation between the Immortal Kings from the Other Domain.Ordinary people were unable to look upon the visage of Immortal Kings, let alone witness a fight between them. Therefore, they had no idea what Profound Earth, Azure Heaven, and the others had discussed with Gu Changge, which resulted in the Immortal Kings being filled with terror and despair.
Nevertheless, the only thing they were certain about was that Gu Changge came from an extraordinary background. Even King Ming had been terrified and swiftly made his escape the moment he found out who Gu Changge was.
King Ming had even set burned his own Source to ensure that his attempt to escape would not be in vain.
It was a terrifying situation, enough to make one’s hair stand on end, and those who witnessed it felt even more shocked and in disbelief.
Naturally, those of the other Immortal Domain regions who gathered in the Western Immortal Domain were just as terrified as those from the Other Domain.
All those led by Jin Yuan were trembling too. They could not even make coherent sentences and were too afraid to look straight at Gu Changge.
Jin Yuan was certain that once this news got out, it would cause massive waves and a widespread panic would ensue across the whole Immortal Domain.
Similarly, the deaths of four Immortal Kings would hit the Other Domain like a devastating earthquake. Even the Ancestors of Emperor Families, who had remained dormant since ancient times, might appear.
In the days to come, the Immortal Domains and the Other Domain would be swept up in an unfathomable nightmare.
“S-Sir…” As a Quasi-Immortal King, Jin Yuan was the most powerful here, apart from the Immortal Kings. But now, he could barely keep his balance. He was trembling with fear. Even his voice shook. He dared not fix his gaze on Gu Changge.
However, Gu Changge showed no intention of paying any attention to Jin Yuan. He stood silently with his eyes closed as wisps of radiant light gushed out of his pores.
The Sources from Profound Earth, Azure Heaven, and the other Immortal King were far purer than the one from Corrupted Hou. They were the perfect nourishment for Gu Changge, far superior to the Sources of the True Daoists and hidden experts that he devoured back in the Upper Realm.
However, with the strength that Gu Changge currently possessed, devouring these Sources alone would not be enough for him to experience a significant boost.
After consuming the Sources from the four Immortal Kings, he sensed a hazy restriction from the atmosphere, one that was unaffected by cultivation.
It could even be said to be entirely unrelated to his cultivation.
Gu Changge perceived it as something related to the present Fortuity of the Mountains and Oceans True World.
The current Immortal Domain and Other Domain were separated from their Source World. Those who reached the level of Immortal Kings could sense this vague restriction.
In a similar fashion to how difficult it was for the Upper Realm to allow the birth of an Immortal, Immortal Kings seemed to be the limit for the present Immortal Domain. Those who reached the Immortal King Realm would be able to sense the limitations of this restriction.
That being said, while Gu Changge could sense it, if one were to be precise about his cultivation level, he had not reached the Immortal King Realm yet.
His body had not been tempered into a flawless Immortal body. He had not absorbed enough Immortality factors.
Though the restriction would affect the rest, it did not affect Gu Changge. He did not rely on his comprehension of World Principles. Instead, he made up for his insufficiencies by devouring what he needed.
According to Gu Changge’s estimates based on his present speed, it would still take him a considerable amount of time to restore his strength to that of the Demon Lord.
By then, he would no longer need the Source of mere True Immortals. Instead, he needed the Sources of Quasi-Immortal Kings, Immortal Kings. Naturally, his targets included those from other True Worlds.
Even if others were unaware of it, Gu Changge knew full well that the Immortal Palace, which once ruled Mountains and Oceans True World, had been established by Gu Qingyi.
Or, more accurately speaking, the Grand Palace Master was Gu Qingyi in a different form. As the True Spirit of the Mountains and Oceans True World, her true strength surpassed that of an Immortal Emperor, but she still had a long way to go before she could transcend further.
One had to transcend past the whole Immortal Realm to be qualified to participate in the Great War Against Heaven and break into the Source Realm.
Such a cultivator does not exist in the current Mountains and Oceans True World. Those from the Source Realm must have known of this.
Though, Gu Changge could not be absolutely sure about this.
After all, geniuses abounded throughout the ages. By altering their bodies and sealing themselves off in different places, some would be able to ensure that all their aura could not be detected by those from the Source Realm.
Once he had completed his body, he could potentially recover his peak cultivation. That would be one that transcended the Immortal Realm, a Transcendent. After all, the Demon Lord who once roamed these lands exhibited the might of someone far past what an Immortal Emperor could exhibit.
“Don’t forget to go back and remind Queen Lunar about the terms she offered to me. I’ll be waiting. I hope that she’ll be ready by the time I return to the Immortal Domain.” Gu Changge opened his eyes. His expression had regained its calmness. He glanced at the quivering Jin Yuan and nonchalantly stated.
This trip he made to the Immortal Domain had helped him figure out a few things. He could enter the Immortal Domain through the gate as he desired. He was not worried that anyone on this side would try to stop him.
Based on his plan, sooner or later, the Mountains and Oceans True World would be reunited as one. It was essential for the Upper Realm, the Immortal Domain, and the Other Domain to be merged into one again.
But, before that, he needed to return to the Upper Realm and reconnect it to the Immortal Domain so that both worlds would be as one. The Southern Immortal Domain was the perfect place to serve as the connection point.
In ancient times, the Upper Realm, which was what the beings from the Immortal Domain called the Source World, had been connected to the Immortal Domain. There was no need for a path to connect the two. Both places formed one continuous existence.
However, during the Forbidden Epoch, the Immortal Domain had been cut off and turned into a massive Domain beyond the Source World.
One could say that the Upper Realm was akin to a vast continent while the Immortal Domain was a portion of the continent that had broken off.
The Upper Realm consisted of countless universes with many Lower Realm Worlds connected to it. Similarly, the Immortal Domain was also connected to many Lower Realm Worlds.
However, due to the separation between Mortals and Immortals, the path to ascend had long been cut off in the same way that ascension was impossible for those in the Upper Realm to the Immortal Domain.
What Gu Changge needed to do now was evolve the Upper Realm so that the World Principles of the Immortal Domain would naturally reconnect to the Upper Realm.
This would not affect his original intention of expanding his Divine Empire. After all, the Immortal Domain currently only have Immortal Kings to rule over it.
After that is done, he might expand past the barriers of the Immortal Domain and go to the other True Worlds.
With the opportunity to venture into other True Worlds, it would enable him to speed up the process he needed to accomplish.
Due to the appearance of the Divine Empire and the creation of the Immortal Selection List in the Upper Realm, the countless people from the Lower Realm Worlds connected to the Immortal Domain would have to use the path established by the Divine Empire if they wished to reach the Immortal Realm.
The World Principles of the Immortal Domain were only suitable for those who were born in the Immortal Domain. It would take a long time for those from the Lower Realms to try and adapt to these World Principles.
In this present age, few could be patient enough to endure such an extended period of waiting.
Initially, Gu Changge made the Immortal Selection List to solidify the unified power of the Divine Empire. It was at a time like this, it could be used to keep his subordinates in check.
Naturally, now that Gu Changge understood the situation of the Immortal Domain, his goal of reconnecting to the two would not simply consist of making the World Principles of the Immortal Domain and Upper Realm match, such that the two could merge flawlessly.
He wanted to turn the Heavenly Ancient City, and the gate in it, into a path that he had sole control over.
This would not affect the integration of World Principles between the two worlds, nor would it be detrimental to the status of his Divine Empire.
If Gu Changge’s relatives and loved ones were able to reach the peak of the Nirvana Realm and wanted to ascend into the True Immortal Realm, they could use this path for that.
Through the tempering of the Immortal Principles and the cleansing of the Immortal Tribulation, they could absorb Immortal factors and break into the True Immortal Realm.
The Immortal Selection List and the Immortal Path.
For the living beings of the Upper Realm, these were the only two paths to Immortality available to them right now, and both were under Gu Changge’s control.
Jin Yuan trembled. He understood the implications of Gu Changge’s words and hastily replied, “R-Rest assured, Sir. Once I return to the Southern Immortal Domain, I will report everything truthfully to Queen Lunar.”
In reality, he would not need to give a report. All of the Immortal Domains had sensed the major event that played out over at the Western Immortal Domain and, to some extent, understood what had taken place.
Gu Changge ignored Jin Yuan and the others. He turned into a streak of light and vanished from his spot in front of the Heavenly Ancient City.
The towering and ancient gate was pushed open, and a brilliant light shot across the sky once more. An ancient and boundless aura surged.
The blood of the Immortal Kings fell from the sky. Some splattered before the gate and produced divine light.
Everyone was filled with trepidation as they prostrated on the ground, too afraid to even lift their heads. Although the Immortal Kings were dead, the blood that remained was still a powerful treasure that could destroy even True Immortals.
After this battle in the Western Immortal Domain, those from the Other Domain began to evacuate. They were too afraid to linger. The scene they witnessed had been far too terrifying.
True Immortals or not, all of them wanted to stay as far away as possible.
Even the many people of the Western Immortal Domain were trying to find ways to leave as well. They were deeply afraid.
Originally, the towering gate was rumoured to be the gateway to the Source World. But now, in their eyes, it seemed to lead to the Nine Nethers instead. It housed a powerful Demon that could eviscerate Immortal Kings.
The Heavenly Ancient City reappeared in the Western Immortal Domain, standing coldly on the edge of the land. However, no one dared to approach it. The blood of Immortal Kings scattered across tens of thousands of kilometres around the place. The land had been corroded and had broken up into fragments.
While an eerie silence befell the land outside the Heavenly Ancient City, there was an uproar in the other Immortal Domain regions. Shouts and exclamations of shock filled the air.
The Northern Immortal Domain could be considered the most prosperous and peaceful of the Immortal Domains besides the Central Immortal Domain. It was even comparable to the Immortal Domain of ancient times.
The presence of True Immortals could be found in many places. Every few thousand years, True Immortals descended upon some of the ancient cities to discuss Dao with the others.
The supreme experts from the various universes would also be invited to partake in the grand birthday celebrations of Immortal Kings. It featured merry singing and dancing.
These were all thanks to the fact that the Northern Immortal Domain had three Immortal Kings.
As it was, the cultivation ground of the three Immortal Kings just so happened to fall on three different sides of the Northern Immortal Domain. This formed a perfect triangle of defence around the Northern Immortal Domain that could not be breached.
Right now, in an ancient city cloaked in Immortal Mist, glorious ancient trees were blooming beneath the light shower.
Deep within the city, an old man with white hair and a white beard sat cross-legged as endless Chaos Qi swirled beneath his platform.
He had a weathered appearance and a serene expression. It was as if aeons of history converged within him. His aura was deep and transcendent. He spoke up softly as if he were conversing with someone.
“Indeed, as I expected, a shocking event has occurred… Four Immortal Kings have fallen. This is an unprecedented event of great proportions. Even that fearsome being from the Other Domain had to burn up his Source to escape. It seems to be true that the mysterious young man’s origins are related to the Forbidden Epoch.”
*Rumble!* The void trembled before splitting apart to reveal a vast and boundless starry universe. A figure with red hair stepped out. Great Dao fragments swirled around him. His face was blurry and he emanated an overwhelming aura that could destroy worlds.
The two of them had discussed this matter here before, but at the time, their expressions had not been this grim.
“A terrifying malevolent force destroyed my divine sense when I attempted to spy on the situation. I would’ve suffered the backlash too if I had been any slower…Even if I can no longer sense it from here, I am certain that he is someone from the Forbidden Epoch. This is unbelievable. Why would such a being reappear in this world? Now of all times?” The red-haired figure spoke gravely, conveying the heaviness he felt.
As an Immortal King, he thought there was nothing that would ever make him feel fearful or uneasy. However, when he tried to get a clear look at the situation over in the Western Immortal Domain, the weapon wielded by that young man nearly destroyed his mind and Soul.
That was enough to terrify him.
“It seems like we will have to send people to the Southern Immortal Domain to find out what exactly happened there. The people Queen Lunar sent over witnessed everything, so they should have a good understanding of the situation.”
“These are troubled times for the Immortal Domain. Why would someone from that epoch appear all of a sudden…” The white-haired old man sighed. Although he was skilled in divination, he dared not try to look into such a powerful being.
This was someone who was able to easily kill four Immortal Kings. A being like that was not someone that they, as Immortal Kings, could freely form conjectures about.
