I Hate Systems
chapter-1070

"Who the fuck are you?" Staring at Compass Carburettor fragment's expression, Ahjar smiled pleasantly, "I'm me. Who else could I be?"

"Really? Let's see about that." The Compass Carburettor fragment slowly raised his hand and unleashed a wave of radiation, impacting Ahjar. But strangely, the latter was unaffected.

"An alternate dimension?" Compass Carburettor fragment snapped his finger, causing some fundamental changes in the unleashed radiation as it leaked into the alternate dimension too. But despite that, Ahjar wasn't affected.

The latter just erected another alternate dimension to flee towards and survive the effects of the radiation. Ahjar never retaliated but his fleeing abilities were exceptional.

No matter how much Compass Carburettor fragment attacked, he was never injured. After jumping into another alternate dimension, Ahjar shouted, "Do you believe that I'm me now?"

"Seems that way." Suddenly, a voice resounded from behind him, startling Ahjar who turned around to stare in a fluster, "M-Mystique?"

"I'm not," Compass Carburettor said as he nudged the monocle on his right eye, adjusting it a little as he recalled his fragment attacking Ahjar before. "I tried to emulate him a little. Seems it worked considering your fluster."

"Anyway," He stared at Ahjar, "We have wasted enough time fighting. Let's get going."

"Wasted…?" Ahjar frowned when suddenly, he focused on his concept of Space, startled in response, "Wait, why couldn't I remember anything that happened for the past minute?"

"So, through the concept of Space, you're able to perceive your timeline in its truest form." Compass Carburettor muttered, "That's why you're able to notice that your memories of the past minute have been erased."

"Did you do something…?" Ahjar stared at Compass Carburettor as his attention fell on the monocle, going into a daze unconsciously before he brisked himself in fear, "What the heck is that?"

"Guess?" Compass Carburettor grinned.

'Shit!' Ahjar grunted in frustration, "Why is it like this even after I became the Concept Representative of Space?"

"Purely in terms of our respective Concepts, you're on a higher level than me." Compass Carburettor explained, "But in terms of ammunition, I'm stronger since I've developed my Concept on all fronts."

"You, on the other hand, have only been using your concept in its empirical form."

"You're not wrong," Ahjar sighed as he stared at Compass Carburettor with puppy eyes, "Can you lend Lore and Tell-Tale for a short duration? I'll be able to derive a lot of abilities using my concept too."

"What do you think is my answer?" His eyes curled up as Compass Carburettor stared at Ahjar.

'Screw you!' Ahjar sighed, realising that he would never receive such help.

A concept was a rigid rule of the multiverse. Moulding it to produce a variety of abilities was impossible, at least, not without the help of Lore or Tell-Tale.

This was why, the moment the Systems lost Tell-Tale, their evolution came to an end. Now, they could only tread through the paths already established before in the System World.

Ahjar was confident in growing way stronger if he had the help of Lore or Tell-Tale. If both supported him, he would easily become the strongest. But of course, he could only dream about it.

His previous actions of controlling them for a moment already pissed Compass Carburettor. The fact that the two haven't fought to the death was only because they had shared hatred towards Zaira.

If not for that, one of them would have died now. And in the current state, despite Ahjar representing a superior concept, his development in it was minimal compared to Compass Carburettor who had exploited his concept of Mortality to the limit.

If they fought, Ahjar was assured that the one dying would be him alone.

Compass Carburettor would sustain some injuries, but he could recuperate for a couple of centuries and heal fully, since he had the option of changing his inherent self through Lore and Tell-Tale.

"They are freaking cheats," Ahjar exclaimed.

"They are mine though." Compass Carburettor smiled, revealing all his teeth, "So, don't touch them, alright?"

"If you do, you won't be around to witness Zaira's despair."

"Alright, alright, sheesh. You needn't threaten me like that." Ahjar raised his hands in surrender as he then observed the void, muttering, "The timeline of Faith Grounds had been slowed down for so long, huh? So, they bought time for their schemes this way."

"Yeah, and I've sped up Faith Grounds' timeline to hasten your growth." Compass Carburettor said, watching the timeline of Faith Grounds gradually synchronise with the multiverse once all the essence of time from Zaira's scheme was expended.

Ahjar looked around, frowning when he was unable to find anyone else, "Wait, are we the only ones left?"

"There's also Hazen." Compass Carburettor said.

"That's it?" Ahjar facepalmed, "Man, so even Slayer fell victim to the Systems?"

"He's one of them now." Compass Carburettor said, "He became the Representative System. It's through him the Systems can turn Genre Representatives into their Host."

"Hmm…" Ahjar was startled at first before he frowned, closing his eyes to sense before he laughed, "That dumbass."

"Dumbass?" Compass Carburettor raised an eyebrow, "You know something I'm unaware of regarding this situation?"

"Slayer is a special case, you see. He wished to stand on the same level as Systems. So, he had been accumulating some foot space in the three pinnacle concepts of time, space, and fate." Ahjar grinned, "He managed to obtain minuscule authority in each, which was how he managed to become a Grade 4 System."

"But you see…" Ahjar cracked his knuckles and stretched his limbs lazily, "The Systems only have a monopoly over the concepts of time and fate. As for space,"

He pointed at himself, "This grandpa controls it. So,"

With a snort, he exhaled, exhibiting his authority over the concept of Space as immediately, a formless rule erupted within the multiverse, affecting only one individual, but the ripples of which would soon spread throughout the multiverse.

"Eh?" Slayer was flabbergasted when Mental Energy stopped flowing into him. A moment later, his foundation took a severe hit as the foot space he created for himself in the concept of Space vanished, depriving him of the qualifications to remain a Grade 4 System. As a result…

Grade 4 System—Representative (Level 312)!

"Nooooooooo!" Slayer screamed like a dog that had been neutered without anaesthesia. After all, he lost his spot as a pinnacle entity.

Grade 3 System—Representative (Level 299)!
