Chapter 311: Compass Vs Krager (part 3)
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Lightning bolts rained down nonstop as Compass Carburettor flinched at the Mental Energy expenditure every time this happened. A single lightning bolt consumed 200 Mental Energy. And the larger ones consumed 300 or even more, making him understand why Zach hadn't used them on him before.
He was burning through Mental Energy to attack Krager. If he considered it from the perspective of efficiency, then it was abysmal. His attacks were greatly inefficient. But, it wasn't like he had any other alternative.
His abilities were already exposed, with Krager being able to counter most of them to a certain extent. Dust Wave was countered by Static Force, destroyed before it could even spread around. His feathers were also similarly countered. Moreover, when Compass Carburettor tried to make the Turtle move using Directional Misalignment, he scowled in anger for it was a creature that was incapable of movement.
It was a living being whose body was no different to a rock.
As all of his abilities were related to motion, Static Force alone countered him to a great extent. So, his only option was to rely on the lightning bolts to damage it externally.
In the meantime, the water had reached the boiling point by now, gradually cooking the turtle as the water turned poisonous. Krager persisted by relying upon his healing ability, resisting everything as he continued to increase the effect of Static Force.
It was to the extent that the Reality Marble began to show signs of destabilisation.
"It's finally done!" Compass Carburettor signed in relief, having accumulated enough power within Reality Marble as the water suddenly turned into lava, causing the turtle to scream in pain as its body melted.
Abruptly changing the terrain like this was a grand waste of Mental Energy and also strained him tremendously, for this was already pushing the limit of Reality Marble at Level 10.After all, the scale of effect was massive and the processed amount of Mental energy was enormous.
"Dammit!" The turtle screamed before morphing into a bird to prevent falling into the lava. But, there was a lava geyser that accurately targeted it, melting its body. And, no matter how many breath attacks it launched on the lava, nothing changed as Compass Carburettor continued to turn up its heat.
As for himself, after the turtle vanished, he used Dust Wave to clear a path towards the mountain, safely landing there. There was still Static Force present in tremendous amounts in the rest of the places.
Compass Carburettor didn't try to do anything to them. They were continuing to absorb kinetic energy and grow in power. All he did was create a tiny funnel, spanning a breadth of ten centimetres that lead a path towards Krager for the Dust Wave to course through.
"Argh!" Once the Dust Wave began to affect him, Krager began to writhe in pain. If he turned into the turtle to counter it, he would just collapse into the lava. It had already cost him three beast forms to escape from the lava.
He didn't wish to become implicated by them again. And, due to the Static Force present throughout the place, he couldn't move as he pleased. It wasn't an ability that was capable of selective targeting due to its nature.
But, that didn't mean he was helpless, turning into a horned man that levitated in the air. This was the horned man's ability as Krager activated his mutated beast abilities. The way in which the Beast Form System had arranged things for him allowed him to use mutated beast abilities even while in a mutated beast form.
And, since the horned man closely resembled a human, this allowed him to fight the best. Immediately, an armour covered his body completely as a sword appeared in his hand. Growing on his shoulders were tiny canons while embedded at the top of his horn was a ring.
The ring embedded in the horn glowed as Krager gazed at Compass Carburettor, instantly causing the pitch-black protective covering on him to explode.
Compass Carburettor noticed that even the Body Layer—condensed using Darlac—underneath was severely damaged from the attack as he hurriedly recovered both, activating Mecha as he condensed a layer of defensive wall before him.
Immediately after, the wall exploded as Compass Carburettor hurriedly erected another, 'Can he explode anything from sight?'
'One after another, his abilities are tremendously powerful.' He sighed, troubled. This was the reason he targeted Krager first. Because, the Beast Form System's advantage in this world was one of the highest.
So, as time passed, he would continue to grow stronger. Had this been the first time they confronted, then Compass Carburettor would have killed and refined the Beast Form System by now.
But, his exposed abilities were what made things so troublesome.
All Krager did was stand in place and gaze at the position of Compass Carburettor, causing things to explode. Whenever the lava tried anything, he exploded it, splashing it away from himself.
His armour condensed four layers of burst element around him, shielding him from the lightning bolts. Before the lightning bolts managed to reach him, they were negated as the shields quickly recovered.
But worst of all, the two cannons on his shoulders were the most troublesome. They were like vacuum pumps, sucking in the burst element from the surroundings. And by that, they sucked in the Dust Wave and processed them, turning them into energy that Krager could use.
Not only that, even the feathers, when they slammed into his barrier, abruptly dissolved into burst elements that were sucked by the canons.
They perfectly countered his abilities, causing him to worry. After all, in terms of efficiency, it was around a ratio of one to ten between the two. He was expending ten times the Beast Form System's Mental Energy.
'This won't do.' Compass Carburettor muttered as he observed Krager's actions through Directional Misalignment, watching the other party take out an egg from somewhere and drop it into the lava.
The moment he used Info Scanner on the egg, Compass Carburettor's face paled, 'So, that's your trump card.'
