I Hate Systems
chapter-338

'This is an interesting world.' The Conspiracy Slayer System thought, 'Anyway, I've already been paid. And, there are around 19 years before that apocalypse world resets. I'll have to kill time until then. Might as well be in this world until then.'

'Also, this is the home to Compass Carburettor. I can unearth all the information about him from here.' It grinned, 'That'll help me understand him better. I can also sell this information to the rest in our group and make a profit.'

The only reason it found a Host on Earth was to prepare for the contingency plan where the Money-Making System refused to head towards the System World. But now that it had done so voluntarily, the Conspiracy Slayer System was free to do as it pleased.

'This will be fun.' It thought before frowning, 'Just that this Host isn't as good as Ianon. Welp, have to just make do with what I can.'

"Stencil…" Compass Carburettor's hands shivered as he carried his daughter, standing beneath a large tree, watching the figure of the Money-Making System slowly begin to exit her.

"What…happened to her?" He asked, upon seeing that Stencil was in a vegetative state, unresponsive.

"This happened after she suffered an attack from the Secret Schemer System Host." The Money-Making System said, shuddering upon gazing at the jet-black figure before it, 'This is Compass Carburettor? What happened to him in this short duration? He's completely different.'

"And, you didn't try to heal her?" Compass Carburettor said with a frown.

The Money-Making System felt fear the moment he expressed a change in tone, hurriedly saying, "I did! I spent a lot of Mental Energy to heal her. But it's not something that I'm capable of curing. The Secret Schemer System is at Level 45. It'll take me decades to rid the effect of its ability and cure her."

"And, the choker on her neck is connected to her neural network. Tampering with it would instantly short-circuit her brain and destroy her mind completely. I had no choice, so that's why I was even willing to lose my Core Skill to Primordial Origin just so that I could survive." The Money-Making System said in a fluster.

"Primordial Origin? Start talking…" Compass Carburettor said, his voice turning colder with the passage of every second.

"Y-Yes," The Money-Making System began to talk hurriedly, unable to understand why it was feeling so much fear while looking at him, 'Isn't he just a System Slayer? He's not even a True System Slayer. And it's only been less than two years. So how…is he this terrifying? What the heck did he eat in the meantime?'

It didn't hide anything, wholly telling everything that it had experienced, feeling as if Compass Carburettor was capable of seeing through it, 'Impossible! What the heck has he become? Did he become the Host to a high-level System?'

"Yes, that's all…gahh!" When it was almost done talking, the Money-Making System screamed in agony, noticing its body had been severed, causing the remainder of the smoke gushing out of Stencil's body to return to her body.

But, before it could wholly return, an energy blade hand grabbed hold of its end and tugged it, gently making it touch the choker on Stencil's neck, causing the smoke to instantly gush into it.

"Haah…" Compass Carburettor sighed in worry, dropping the gun that was in his hands. It was the same as Anthozoa that he had picked up from his company. They had created many such guns in the meantime.

He planned to make that Stencil's Personal Fragment. But, upon determining her situation, he judged that turning the Neural Impulse Actuator into her Personal Fragment would allow Stencil to gradually heal herself from the effects plaguing her mind.

The Money-Making System collapsed on the ground, trembling in fear as it watched Stencil turning into a System Slayer.

"Don't worry, I have no intentions of turning her into a True System Slayer." Compass Carburettor muttered, slowly getting up as he began to walk away, "If I kill you here, I can sense that a lot of powerful Systems would notice my actions and come after me. So…"

"Consider yourself lucky."

"What…the heck just happened?" The Money-Making System stared in shock, unable to understand what hit it as it felt weak, famished even. After all, the moment Compass Carburettor turned around, something hit it that robbed it of all its Mental Energy, rendering it helpless.

"My Mental Energy…" It muttered after a dozen minutes spanned past, still reeling from shock, "Who…exactly was that? Was it really Compass Carburettor?"

Currently, only half its body remained. From the day it was born, this was the lowest the Money-Making System had ever reached.

Ignoring its state, Compass Carburettor continued to walk. There were two reasons he hadn't killed the Money-Making System. First, he could feel that the moment he killed a System in the System World, the powerhouses among Grade 1 Systems would be alerted. Even a Grade 2 System could be alerted.

His death was guaranteed if that happened.

Second, if he killed the Money-Making System; the greatest fragment of its body was currently within Stencil.

All its previous Hosts had been devoured by it.

And Compass Carburettor had destroyed its fragment in his mind. That left the biggest of its fragment living within Stencil. So, that meant, the moment he killed its body, it'll start to grow within her mind.

And in the current state where her mind was in a fragile state, this would just destroy her. That was why he held back his anger and behaved rationally, desperately controlling himself.

After all, he had his priority, which was to cure Stencil. 'As for Secret Schemer, Money-Making, and the rest, you'll die in due time.'

He continued to walk in the System World for a long time, observing that Stencil showed no signs of getting up. He placed her in the Dimensional Space, causing Grisha to heal her, but nothing changed.

'Her mind has been damaged. And if I wish to save her, only one type of world has a realistic chance.' He gritted his teeth as his eyes turned moist, "Dammit!"

Slowly, after sensing the danger levels that he perceived of the surrounding Systems in the System World, he slowly approached an injured Hatchling System, something that seemed to be at Level 1, causing it to prostrate on the ground the moment it felt mountainous danger from him.

"These are the requirements I need. Find a suitable world and I'll give you 30,000 Mental Energy."

"Y-Yes," The Hatchling System nodded meekly as it connected to the Astral Network and scoured for information, eventually finding a suitable world.

Compass Carburettor paid it 30,000 Mental Energy, saying, "Collect all the information about this world. The power structure, the energy used, the types of treasures that exist here, everything."

Upon obtaining so much Mental Energy, the Hatchling System was excited as it quickly joined many groups and bought the necessary information before relaying it to Compass Carburettor using a Skill it had bought just for this sake.

In the end, it was still left with around 20,000 Mental Energy.

"Alright, condense a portal to lead to that world," Compass Carburettor said, watching the Hatchling System take almost ten hours before it gathered enough Mental Energy to condense a portal to that world.

He peered through it, observing that it was indeed the same world and the location was pretty safe.

Slowly, he brought out Stencil, causing her choker to gently touch the portal as her figure vanished, appearing in the place that was displayed in the portal.

"Alright, thank you." Compass Carburettor said, touching the portal with his Anthozoa as his figure vanished.

The portal closed immediately after that as the Hatchling System shuddered in fear, "I…survived!"

It immediately escaped from the place, intending to head towards a weak world and leave this dangerous world first.
