I Hate Systems

chapter-415
He didn't just stop at turning the customers into Sleeper Cells though. But, he also planted Blood Vitality Grass in each, using healing as a pretext. That's why it took him a couple of minutes to heal their limbs.
Otherwise, with his attributes growing stronger, it could be done even faster.
The Blood Vitality Grass in them was only like a seed that hadn't germinated. If it just grew in size, it would alert them as their bodies would be growing stronger too, not to mention the greater sense of hunger they would be feeling.
But, as they were in the Folkan Secret Realm, they would of course come across many opportunities to grow strong. That means, as long as the Blood Vitality Grass grew every time they grew in strength, none would be wiser.
Also, by absorbing the Essence Increasing Spark and the Essence Strengthening Spark, they were growing in power. So, it was also a good chance for them to grow.If they were just regular cultivators, then they would be useless against Chenger or the other System Hosts. After all, the previous clash was the best example. Even by facing a group, Chenger barely suffered a couple of scratches. And this was in the case there were two cultivators with Earth Martial Spirits.
Earth Martial Spirit cultivators were typically the heavily nurtured geniuses of their respective Clans and Sects. And they would usually have a lot of Artifacts, pills, etc. to support them.
But despite that, they didn't even put up much of a fight against her.
'Well, it's not that surprising since she took one of my Dust Wave spheres head on and survived.' He thought. After all, in their prior clash, he attacked both Chenger's body and mind. But, she wasn't injured.
This showed how powerful she was. But during that clash, he also probed through her mind, understanding the System in her. And now that he realised it was the Destiny Luck System in her, he would be able to prepare accordingly.
If you are destined to meet someone, then you'll face the final battle with them.
This was pretty much the core concept of Destiny Luck. That implied that he and Chenger would have their fated battle one fine day. And as the term signified, it would be a one-on-one battle, with death of one of them being a guarantee. That was destiny!
It was why he realised that this wasn't the time for their fated battle. If he simply tried anything against her in the meantime, his luck would clash with Destiny Luck. And that would only weaken him for future fights.
But, if Chenger were the one to engage with him first, things would be different. That was why he was slowly targeting the people she sent to monitor him, bringing them to his side without them being aware of it.
Obtaining more Sparks, turning the patients into Sleeper Cells, making them stronger using the Blood-Vitality-Grass, and finally, displaying his healing cards, making it seem his Martial Spirit was healing-based. He was achieving four things from one action.
And since the Systems should have been aware by now that his objective is to heal Stencil, they'll realise that him obtaining a healing Martial Spirit was probably the reason he had arrived at the Gaider Realm.
But, they would realise that he was holding back on his healing ability. After all, he should have obtained a Heaven Martial Spirit. But the extent of powers he was displaying was only on the level of an Earth Martial Spirit.
His goal was now the perfect trap that would veer his enemies in a wrong direction.
But, what none were wiser was the fact that he had a fifth plan in motion.
As Compass Carburettor stood atop a rather muddy ground, the blood from the patients spilled on it when they severed their limbs. And, gently jutting out of his feet, spreading underground were the roots of his Blood Vitality Grass.
As it was his ability, he was able to control it. Even though the growth of the roots caused him pain, he was similarly able to use the Mind Frog's ability to apply an anaesthetic effect to his legs.
The roots of the Blood Essence Grass spreads underground before coming into contact with the blood seeping through the soil, absorbing it.
This was blood from the cultivators, rich in energy, the perfect food to fuel his Blood Vitality's growth. And as the place was full of ambient Origin Essence, it was perfect as the Origin Essence seeped into the blood of the cultivators, creating a great tonic for his growth.
Silently, both his Origin Essence and body were growing stronger while healing others. And, he was doing this under the watch of his enemy, unaware to them.
And that means…
'It's working.' He grinned behind the mass, 'My Luck is recovering.'
'No, if I keep this up, it might grow even further.' He slowly patted a cultivator's spine that had been injured, "Hmm, this'll be tricky. I'll need something like a tent to operate within."
"I have one here." A cultivator that had been healed by him before said, taking out a tent from his bag as he set it up nearby.
"Thank you." Compass Carburettor nodded in response, "You can collect it once I'm done here."
"It's fine, doctor. Just continue to heal us. We'll bring you enough treasures to be satisfied in return." A cultivator said as everyone laughed in response.
Slowly, they began to disperse while more cultivators began to slowly gather around.
The best thing about this was the fact that even though there was a crowd of people surrounding him, he wasn't even the least afraid. After all, all of them forming the closest circle were his Sleeper Cells.
And those leaving from time to time were also Sleeper Cells. They returned to their hunt, at times passing beside the System Hosts when they became active, observed them before walking away like everything was normal.
And, this continued to happen until the number of cultivators within the tower began to reduce as all the easier to hunt orbs had already been captured. The remaining ones were too dangerous, having already racked up a high casualty count.
So, those without confidence began to leave one after another. The ones remaining behind were the stronger of the cultivators, but even they began to leave after a while.
After all, this wasn't the only place with treasures. There were other places too. And it was no longer worth it to wait to hunt the orbs that were getting riskier.
Of course, Compass Carburettor had bolted away along with the normal crowd. With the Claw Wolf as a mount, his escape was rapid, quickly losing Chenger.
